You Deserve The Royal Treatment

My card today has two Hero Arts stamp sets combined to create a castle with a moat around it and sunflower fields beyond…the card is 4.25″x 6.5″ so I didn’t have to squish all the elements of my card design to fit on a standard size card…

I started by stamping the Heroscapes colour layering Sunflower Field stamp set with Altenew crisp inks – sweet leaf, mountain pine, fresh lemon, snap dragon and hazelnut…I die cut it with the coordinating dies and set it aside to add to my card once the background was ready on the front panel…

On the background panel, I used the MFT Cloud Mini stencil with salty ocean and blueprint sketch Distress Inks for the sky and mermaid lagoon and peacock feathers Distress Inks for the moat…I then adhered the sunflower field die cut at the base of the panel…

Next, I stamped and coloured in the Hero Arts Build A castle stamp on a separate piece of white cardstock…I coloured them in with alcohol markers and die cut them using the coordinating dies…I adhered these to the card front and added a stamped sentiment as well..

Nuvo Shimmer Powders vs Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers + Perfect Pearls

I tried out two cards with the same design but used different mediums to colour the background panel…the end results of both were pretty and shiny so I was quite happy that my ‘experiment’ didn’t need to be binned..

First, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Circle Doodle background stamp on watercolour cardstock and heat embossed them with Altenew Embossing powder…

For the first panel, I carefully sprinkled various Nuvo Shimmer Powders and then spritzed some water on it…it is quite a magical process as you see the colour move around..

For the second panel I used Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers for a bit more controlled colouring… I then sprayed some Perfect Pearls powder mixed with water over the panel to get a similar shine on it as the Nuvo Shimmer Powders…

Once both the background panels were dry, I used some black glitter cardstock to die cut the sentiment from Altenew Bold Greetings and then added a lace border at the top using Altenew Creative Edges Lace Die…I have also added a few black Nuvo drops to embellish these cards..

I really like how the cards ended up with a bit of a retro look…thanks so much for stopping by my blog today…happy crafting..!!

So Proud Of You – Card For Altenew April 2020 Inspiration Challenge

Here is one of the two cards I have made for the Altenew Inspiration Challenge….the other card is in my second post for today..

I first die cut the elements from the Altenew Monstera 3D die set and coloured them in using the Altenew watercolor brush markers and put them together once dry…

I cut one of the papers to size from the Altenew Essentials Black And White paper pack and adhered it to the card front…I then adhered all the die cut elements to the card front and added a sentiment strip…to embellish my card, I added a few white jewels and added a bit of shimmer to the leaves..

Hello – Card For Altenew April 2020 Inspiration Challenge

My birthday a few days ago, was the most unusual one…like most celebrations are these days due to social distancing and lock-down laws…I saw the Altenew Inspiration Challenge post and started planning cards for the challenge..I will share one in this post and the second one in my next post..

I started by stamping flowers and leaves from the Altenew Heart Flowers stamp set…I have used rubellite and peach perfect crisp inks for the flowers and cloudy night for the leaves…I skipped the second layer of these layering flowers but used Altenew Antique Silver embossing powder for the third layer..I die cut these elements using the coordinating dies and set them aside..

I die cut the Altenew Fine Frames Diamond from white card stock 4 times and then layered it and adhered it to the the center of the front panel…I also coloured one thin frame with a grey marker and added it outside the diamond label…the Fancy Hello die cut sentiment is also layered and I have added some shimmer as well as Nuvo Glaze on it after adhering it to the card..

I then added all the die cut flowers and leaves to the card and added a few silver jewels to embellish it…

3 Altenew Cards

So when I get more time at home, I make more cards….my card making hobby is a great help these days and helps me keep occupied and sane…today I’m sharing three cards that I have made using various Altenew stamps and stencils…

On a coloured cardstock front panel I used the Altenew stencil – Sketched lines and applied some black Gina K glitter glitz gel and set it aside to dry before adhering it to the card base….then on a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped and die cut the large image from the Altenew Watercolor Halftone stamp set….I adhered this to the card front and added the sentiment…

I created the background for my second card using the Altenew City Scene stencil and Distress Inks…I then stamped the large hot air balloon as well as the sentiment banner from the Altenew Baby Balloon stamp set and die cut them before adhering to the card front

For my third card, I used Distress Inks and Altenew Bubble Wrap stencil to create the background…then using the Altenew It’s For You stamp set, I stamped the colour layering telephone and added it to the card front…the sentiments stamped on the front are from the same stamp set…

Two Birthday Cards

After looking at and admiring a lot of tall/narrow cards shared by so many card makers recently, I decided to give it a go as well…I tried out a vertical layout as well as a horizontal one…the card size is 3 5/8″ x 8 5/8″ for both cards…and I haven’t tried it yet but this should fit a business envelope(a DL size for Australia)

My first card is a fairy birthday card made using Stamping Bella cling stamp set called Little Bits Fairy and Kelly Alpha lower case die set from Pinkfresh Studio….I have used Distress inks with MFT mini cloud stencil to create the background panel…and to complete the sentiment, I added two white heat embossed labels above the die cut word…

I have also added tiny pink stars all over the card to embellish it..

For my second card, I first stamped and heat embossed a lot of leaf images from Altenew Freeform Greenery stamp set …I coloured them in using alcohol markers and the die cut them with the coordinating dies…I added these leaves to the bottom of the front panel..

Using some red cardstock, I die cut the word ‘happy’ using the Altenew Caps Bold Alpha dies….I added some glitter ad then some nuvo glaze on these die cuts…I stamped and heat embossed the word ‘birthday’ from Mega Greetings 2 stamp set and adhered it to complete the sentiment…

I wasn’t able to take a good picture of this card as the Nuvo glaze was extremely reflective…

I did enjoy making these cards….I think this is a great size to use for a bit of variation every now and then…

Is It Time For Cake?

It was great fun and super easy to make this birthday card using Mama Elephant stamp and dies….the stamp sets I have used are – stackable friends and big news and the die used for the background panel is the circular grid die..

I first created the front panel with Distress Inks and then die cut it before adding a dark mustard cardstock behind the panel…

On a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped and clear heat embossed the images and then coloured them in before die cutting them…I added these to the card front and stamped the sentiments as well

Sarcasti-chicks!

There is not much I can write about the making of this card that I’m sharing today, but I know a lot of friends – young and old – who will get a great laugh out of this one!!

The stamp set is called Sarcasti-Chick and it’s by Taylored Expressions and the sentiment is from the same stamp set…I coloured in the images with alcohol markers and heat embossed the sentiments with white embossing powder…

Fabulous – Yes You Are!

Today I’m sharing a card made with the Altenew Dotted Starburst Debossing Cover Die which I think is the hero of my card….

I used green cardstock for the front panel and debossed it…I then added a stamped and die cut diamond shape from the Altenew Geo Frames set…I splattered a bit of metallic gold watercolour on it before adhering it to the card front…

I then stamped and heat embossed three daisy flowers and some leaves from the Altenew New Beginnings stamp set…I coloured them in using the Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers and then added them to the diamond frame..

I stamped and gold heat embossed the sentiment from Altenew Engraved Flowers stamp set on a black label and added a few gold sequins to embellish my card..
