Post#88 You’re My Type Of Friend Card

The card I’m sharing today does not have bright colours or too many colours…The card base is plain grey and the top layer is white…
On the top layer I sponged in a bit of distress ink in the center and then stamped the sentiment and typewriter image…then I masked the center image and used a stencil and slate colour ink to create the background of the card….
The card was ready as soon as I attached the top layer to the base of the card…
Hope you liked it..

In this card I have used the die cut as well as the negative space left by die cutting to create an interesting look….
Once I die cut the balloon die from the white top layer,I attached a printed paper under it…I then added the actual die cut on the top layer as well(I decided to use a pink die cut for this card instead of the white)…
To add the strings for the balloons I simply drew with a gold pen…and then attached the sentiment stamped with red ink on a green banner…
Hope you liked this card…

Going through a few of my old bookmarks,I found a link to this project tutorial by Sam Donald…..I had wanted to try it out as soon as I saw it but never got around to it till now….I love how beautiful these gift bags look and the best part is that we can make two bags from one sheet of 12” X 12″ cardstock…
The tutorial video is excellent as always and here’s the link for it – Typeset Birthday Bag Tutorial by Sam Donald
I loved making and decorating these bags….I tried one with plain cardstock and one with printed paper….both turned out great…
Hope you liked them too..

I like using tags to create simple cards…and for this card I wanted to use the colour combination of blue, aqua and pink…
I started with a 5″ x 7″ aqua card base…the top layer is a marble effect blue paper…I added four strips in various widths on it and adhered the top layer to the card…
Then I die cut a large tag and added the die cut word thanks to it along with a few tiny punched out flowers and a ribbon as well…I attached the tag onto the card front and added a few more punched flowers to the card…
Hope you liked it…

I bought the button punch a very long time ago….but I have not used it much at all…somehow I could not come up with ideas…even though this one punch can punch out 5 different types of button shapes…
So I sat down and took just one of the shapes to design this card…On a white base card I used a white top layer as well…I punched four circles on it and attached it to the base card…on each one of these circle spaces I attached four different coloured buttons punches…and to give it a bit more of a button effect, I used a thin gold string to sew through…
I stamped the sentiment at the top of the card…then cut out a stamped image of a little girl and adhered it to the front of the card using adhesive foam squares…
Hopefully I will be able to think of more ideas to create something with my button punch…
Thanks for taking a look at my post today…Hope you liked this card…

Just as the title suggests…today’s post is a card in a card…..So when you open the first card…it has a pocket inside which holds another card….I like the slight element of surprise in this card…
I kept the base card quite simple in blue base and layers on green on inside and silver foil cardstock  layer on the outside…The front only has a small green label with silver heat embossed sentiment on it…
The inside card is 3″ x 3″ in foil cardstock with two strips of green and blue cardstock on the front…Then I attached a small white tag on which I had stamped and coloured in an image of a little girl…at the back of the tag I attached  a few small banners for decoration…
I hope you liked this card…

I am very excited to share today’s project with you…Its a gift bag with an open top… and I came up with all the dimensions myself…someone else may have made it before but I did not look up any tutorials at all…this was my attempt at learning the basics of creating a gift bag of a particular size with specific measurements…
I started with an A4 size cardstock and trimmed the length to 11-1/2″….I kept the width of the paper as is at 8-1/4″ so the dimensions of the paper are 11-1/2″ x 8-1/4″
Then I scored the short side of the paper at 1″…this will be the base of the bag…
The long side was scored at 1″, 5-1/4″,6-1/4″ and 10-1/2″
Staying on the long side I scored a half score line at 1/2″, 5-3/4″ and 11″
These part score lines will help the sides of the bag to fold in together a bit easier…
I burnished the score lines and cut all four score lines running upto the 1″ base score line on the short side….then I used a strong adhesive to attach the sides and bottom of the bag…the final bag measures 7″ x 4-1/4″ and is 1″ wide
I used a small doily to cover the top of the bag and punched a hole through all the layers to thread the ribbon for closing the bag…also added a few punched our flowers from white cardstock to decorate the bag…
I had a huge amount of fun creating this bag….Hope you liked it too…
Thanks for stopping by…

Post#81 Friends Are the Sunshine Of Life Card

When you make a lot of cards or other papercraft…you are usually left with a lot of scraps…and sometimes that scrap can be used to create new things…I have a habit of saving scrap pieces of paper as they are very handy to use with punches…
So while using the banner punch I was left with these triangular-ish pieces…and I had a printed paper which had these tiny triangles design on it…So I used it as the top layer for the card and attached those punched leftover bits on it…I kept one of those pieces a bit wider and stamped a sentiment on it…I also added a few red adhesive pearls…
Hope you liked this card…

The pinwheel punch board from WRMK creates the best and fastest pinwheels that I have ever made…I was able to decorate the whole wall in my kids bedroom in an hour with colourful pinwheels in a lot of different sizes…I also bought the pinwheel attachments so I could try making a few working ones…so easy..
Today I tried to use the pinwheel(without the attachment) as a decoration on a gift box…This giftbox was made using the WRMK 1 2 3 Punch Board and then I used a string to tie the lid flaps…I created the pinwheel and used a brad to hold the flaps in the middle….and then used a strong adhesive to attach the pinwheel to the front of the box…
I think the box looks nice…Hope you think so too…
