Wishing You Happiness – Stamped Shaker Card

A couple of weeks ago I saw a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire where she made many adorable stamped shaker cards…you do need stamps with a coordinating die for this technique and it was quite a simple and easy process…I think I’ll be making a few more of these soon!!

I stamped and gold heat embossed a large feather die on a white panel from Earth Has Music stamp set by Simon Says Stamp and coloured it in using Zig markers..I added a piece of white foam negative section which I die cut using the coordinating die….I added some gems and closed the shaker section using a piece of acetate…

I used the coordinating die again to die cut on the front panel and adhered the feather shaker piece underneath…there are lots of ways to create/assemble this shaker card but this is just how I did this one…I added a bit of Distress Inks on the edges of the front panel and adhered a stamped sentiment strip as well as some gold confetti sequins to embellish my card…
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog….Hope you will have a cheerful and blessed day today..Happy crafting!!

I Love Your Smile – Shaker Card

This year I wanted to make more shaker cards because I realised I enjoyed making them now and the shaker element always seem to add so much interest without going through the sometimes laborious process of making most interactive cards…and this is only the third shaker I have made this year…so hopefully I can make more…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

On a white front panel,I first die cut the large word ‘smile’ and then stamped the leafy border stamp above and below it using Versamark ink and then heat embossed it using silver embossing powder…I then used salty ocean Oxide ink  to sponge the edges and splattered some water for effect…I used the same ink to colour in a few leaves in the embossed images…

Next,I started creating the shaker by first adhering a piece of acetate behind the die cut panel…I added some silver foil paper on the front of the card base and then added white craft foam to create the shaker well and added some  blue and silver sequins inside it….I then adhered the front panel to the card base and the shaker was ready..I only added a blue banner with ‘i love your’ sentiment heat embossed on it with silver embossing powder…

Here is a small video of my shaker card…I really like how easily the sequins slide and shake because of the smooth silver paper at the base of the shaker…

MFT 2018 Creative Olympics – My Entries for Event 2,3 & 4

Hello…today I’m sharing mostly pictures and a couple of videos of the cards I have made as my entry for the MFT Creative Olympics…at one point I really thought I won’t be able to complete my projects for all 4 events but thankfully I managed to cross the finish line…

Event #2 – Freestyle

The only rule for this event was to have a winter theme…I chose to make a spinner card using the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set with the Snowfall Background die and the Downhill Slope die….For the background I have used Distress Inks – wilted violet, blueprint sketch, chipped sapphire and black soot..

Event #3 – Crafty Biathlon

In the second event,we had to combine one technique from each of the two columns in the list provided and create a card…I chose to do dry embossing as well as die cut inlay from the first column and create a shaker card..I have used the Stitched Circle Stax to create the olympic rings and Wild Greenery die to dry emboss the top layer and the layer which is the shaker background…on the Backgrounds I have used vintage photo and lucky clover Oxide Inks…I have filled the shaker with a lot of star
I have also used the cute images from Fierce Friends stamp set and placed them behind the Olympic rings…I stamped the sentiment on a die cut label and added some clear sequins to embellish it..

In this 4th and last event,we had to create a card from start to finish within 20 mins…so I knew I was going to use a set with matching dies and colour in using water soluble colours…I used the English Brick Wall stencil and hickory smoke Oxide Ink to create the background on my front panel..
I have used the images from Fancy Flowers stamp set and coloured them in pretty quickly using shaded lilac, picked raspberry and evergreen bough Oxide inks..I die cut them using the coordinating dies(this took up most of my time)..I adhered these die cuts at the bottom of the front panel and cut off the excess…I have also used a stitched rectangle die to emboss an edge on the panel as well…finally I used All About You stamp set and stamped the sentiment on the card front using wilted violet Oxide Ink and added a few clear Nuvo drops to embellish it..

I Love You – Shaker Card

Sharing my first shaker card for this year…and this one didn’t take too long to make so I am pretty sure I will make quite a few shaker cards this year….I am still (and always will be) in awe of card makers who create the most amazing shaker cards with such ease and finesse..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I first created the background of the front panel of my card using Distress Oxide inks….I have used seedless preserves and picked raspberry shades here…I also splattered quite a bit of water for effect…then using the corbel heart die,I die cut beautiful heart pattern on the front panel…I added a piece of acetate behind this die cut section and started to create the shaker element…
I used foam tape to create the shaker well behind the front panel…I placed a lot of pink and red sequins inside this ‘well’ and added a panel of gold glitter cardstock as the background of my shaker…I used more foam tape to the back of my panel and adhered it to a plain white card base…

I die cut the word ‘you’ from white card stock and adhered it  on my card front….I then stamped the words ‘I love’ on a long white banner and adhered it to complete the sentiment…and finally to embellish my card I have used some small die cut hearts from gold glitter cardstock …

Autumn Leaf Shaker Card – Time Out Challenge #90

The theme for the new challenge at Time Out Challenges Blog is Autumn with the optional twist of speed stamping…I did time myself from start to finish and it took me 8 minutes and 43 seconds to create this card…which is well under the 10 minute limit given out for this challenge…this is definitely my fastest ever shaker card…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started with a textured apricot orange shade of cardstock for the card base and cut kraft cardstock to size for the top panel…I then die cut the leaf shape from this top panel and started to prepare the shaker element…

On a piece of white cardstock,I randomly sponged some Distress Oxide inks to create the autumnal look…I used vintage photo, lucky clover, antique linen and spiced marmalade shades here..I then adhered a piece of acetate behind the kraft panel…I then adhered adhesive foam tape to create a well for the shaker, added the sequins and added the inked panel to close the shaker well…

I did not add too many sequins as I wanted the inked background of the leaf to show a bit better…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Once the shaker panel was ready and adhered to the card front, all I had to do was stamp the sentiment on a small strip of the same cardstock as the card base…I used lucky clover Distress Oxide ink for stamping and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and adhered it to the card front using some foam squares underneath…and as a final touch,I quickly made a bow from gold string and adhered it to the leaf using a glue dot…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I never thought I could make a shaker card this fast…and it was so much fun creating this card with the timer running beside me…I think good planning was the key for me today…

So happy you stopped by my blog today…thank you for taking the time…have a happy and crafty day ahead..!!

Birthday Cards Using Acetate

It’s been a very long time since I’ve been planning to try out acetate cards…went through quite a few tutorials by card makers who shared great tips and techniques and felt I should give it a try…so I made two cards…the first one has an acetate panel in the front and the second one has a clear acetate front..

I have used kraft cardstock for my first card….I created a section to place the acetate and then adhered it to the card…I stamped  one sentiment on the card front and another one inside which can been seen through the acetate panel…

On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped three candles and cut them out and placed them on the card…I have also used glossy accents on the flames of these candles for a bit of shine…
To embellish this card I have wrapped a bit of gold string on the front and adhered some punched out tiny circles that seem like confetti which I have added on the inside of this card so they can be seen through the acetate panel…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

My second card has a full acetate front panel…I cut the acetate about half an inch longer than the card front so that once I scored it to size,I would be able to adhere the cardstock I used for the card back to it..

I stamped the little boy holding the large balloon and the sentiment on the panel using Stazon jet black ink…I don’t know if any other ink works on acetate but I know for sure that this one does…

Using Spectrum Noir markers I coloured in the images…you can see on the balloon that it didn’t work too well but it was ok on the small image…

I added a few silver star sequins to embellish this card…

Celebrate – Shaker Card

I’m sharing a shaker card today and I am pretty happy with how it turned out….I was able to use printed cardstock for the card base and since I didn’t use any coloured or large sequins, the stamped image shows well…

I made the card base using a silver glitter patterned cardstock and then started to assemble the elements for the shaker section of this card…for the base of the shaker I used a white cardstock and stamped the Sydney cityscape at the bottom…I then sponged in various distress inks to fully cover the base section…
I used a couple of pierced rectangle dies and white cardstock to create the shaker frame….the acetate layer is slightly smaller than this frame and I have stamped the sentiment and a few stars on it using Stazon black ink….and I created the shaker ‘well’ using some white craft foam…

Before adhering all the elements of this shaker,I added lots of clear star sequins and stamped a few stars on the frame as well….here’s a close up shot of the shaker…

Two Cards Using Cut Outs Die

I have never tried out word cut out dies before and today I’m sharing the first couple of cards I have made using them…I made the second card(the red and white one)first but it seemed a bit too simple and then my younger daughter came along and suggested that I make a shaker card…so I did… 🙂
For my first card I chose a black cardstock to make the card base and a plain bright yellow top layer….I simply placed the die where I wanted the cut out and ran it through my Cuttlebug…once that was done,I created the shaker element by adding a piece of acetate and black craft foam behind the top layer for the shaker element…after adding some bright coloured sequins inside the shaker ‘well’ I adhered it to the card base…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the cute birds from Clearly Besotted and coloured them in before cutting them out and placing them onto the card..I also adhered a few sequins to embellish the card…

Here is a close up shot of the shaker element…

As I said,I made this second card first as I was just trying to see what results these dies gave….since my card size is a bit larger than the standard ones, these dies don’t cover the top layer perfectly…I will be using a smaller card size with these dies next time…
The card base is plain red and the top layer is cut to size from white cardstock…I then placed the die about an inch from the top and die cut that part…then using bright colours from my Ranger dye inkpads,I stamped the large heart stamp repeatedly…
Finally I embellished the card using a lot of different coloured sequins..

Happy NEW YEAR 2017

So another year is history and a new year has arrived…Wishing you and your family & friends a very happy and prosperous 2017…!!
Today I’m sharing two cards…I wanted bright and blingy and something fun to welcome the new year..so I made one very large card using gold foil cardstock and the WRMK alphabet punch board and a smaller shaker card using lots of glitter cardstock…
My first card has a printed cardstock base with a bit of glitter which is 11″x 4″ when folded….I then punched out the four numbers using gold foil cardstock and the alphabet punch board…I also ran these numbers through my Cuttlebug using a WRMK next level embossing folder before adhering them to the card base…
Then all I had to do was to die cut the word ‘happy’ using pink cardstock, apply a bit of glossy accents and adhere it above the numbers and my card was ready…

My second card is a small but a very very glittery shaker card…I die cut the card base using blue glitter cardstock and the largest die from a nesting die set called Lorrianes flower…I then die cut a circle using gold glitter cardstock as a sort of top layer for this card…

Using the second largest die from the same die set,I die cut the base of the shaker element using brown glitter cardstock…I die cut a lot of circle frames using white cardstock and layered them together to make the shaker ‘well’…in between one of these circle frames I attached a strip of acetate and adhered die cut numbers 2017 on it…this really helps in keeping the numbers visible as most sequins can freely move under that acetate strip and not hide them…

I filled in colourful star sequins and closed the shaker with a die cut acetate circle…I die cut another circle frame for the top of the shaker using brown glitter cardstock…
