Two Long Cards – Congrats & Celebrate

Hydrangeas are one of my favorites and I can’t wait to see them bloom this summer….till then I’m quite happy to make cards with Hydrangeas stamps….the cards I’m sharing today are 4″x7&1/4″ and were the perfect size to fill up with a lot of flower images…especially the Garden Hydrangeas stamps because usually I’m only able to add no more than two of those images in a standard size card…

I used a textured purple cardstock to create the card base for my first card….I the cut watercolour cardstock to size for the front panel and stamped the Hydrangea flowers and leaves using Versamark ink and heat embossed them using some white embossing powder….

I painted them in with my watercolour pens and a waterbrush using blue and purple shades as these are the colours of the Hydrangeas that grow in my home… once the panel was dry,I adhered it to the card base…

I die cut the word ‘congrats’ from purple glitter cardstock as well as purple craft foam and layered them together before adhering them to the card front…but before I did that I stamped the rest of the sentiment using purple dye ink..

I also adhered a scalloped border at the base of my card which I die cut from the same purple glitter cardstock as the sentiment…I added a few clear Nuvo drops to embellish my card…

I will be entering this card in the latest Flower Challenge #13 who are currently celebrating their 1st birthday…the prizes are amazing for this challenge and prizes 1,4,5 or 6 would be my choice if I am lucky enough to win..
For my second card I chose a dark pink textured cardstock to create the card base and a smaller front panel from white cardstock…
I used the Beautiful Day layering stamp set from Altenew and covered the front panel with the images by masking and re-stamping the same flowers..I used Altenew crisp dye inks for stamping these images…for the flowers I have used cotton candy, coral berry and purple wine shades and for the leaves and other smaller images I simply coloured them in using my alcohol markers…

For the sentiment,I die cut the word celebrate 3 times from the same cardstock as the card base and layered them up before adhering it to the card front…I then applied some glossy accents on top of this die cut for a bit of shine…and finally I added rhinestones in various sizes to embellish my card…

Altenew August Inspiration Challenge

Erum is a fantastic artist whose card is the inspiration for this month’s Altenew Inspiration Challenge…I took a lot of inspiration from both her cards to create mine..I did a whole lot of heat embossing on Vellum and wasn’t sure if I would be able to put it all together…but I did…and here is my card..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

This is Erum’s card and the colours for this challenge…
I started by creating the background on the white front panel using Altenew sketched lines stencil and vintage photo Distress Oxide ink…I then splattered some gold paint on it…I adhered this panel to a white card base once it was dry…

I stamped all the flower and leaf images on Vellum using watermark ink and heat embossed all of them using some gold embossing powder…I then used various Distress Inks and a bit of water to colour in all these images…I have used peacock feather, mermaid lagoon, forest moss and ground espresso shades here…I also coloured in a couple of images using gold watercolour..
I splattered these images with gold paint as well and once dry,I cut them all out and adhered them to the card front using some multi medium adhesive…

I stamped the sentiment on a white piece of cardstock using Altenew dark chocolate dye ink and layered it with gold glitter cardstock before adhering it to the card with some foam squares…I have used a few tiny gold sequins to embellish my card…

I don’t think I have ever created anything like this before and had so much fun making this card and taking part again in the Altenew Inspiration Challenge

Atlenew Decoupage Flowers – A Card & A Tag

I have been planning to try out the decoupage technique for a very long time and have finally been able to create something…I have seen a lot of cardmakers create beautiful cards and share tutorials for this technique but the one video that I found the most helpful was the one by Yana Smakula…and although she used wood block stamps and coordinating layering dies for her tutorial, you get the idea of how exactly it is done…here is the link to her full post if you’d like to check it out – 3D Decoupage Technique by Yana Smakula

I made a card using Altenew Dahlia Blossoms stamp set and halftone stencil as well as a tag using the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set…and even in the pictures you can see that the flowers give a dimensional look…

For the card I chose a dark coloured card base and die cut the top layer using white cardstock and a pierced rectangle die….I then used the hafltone stencil and broken china Distress Oxide ink to print the pattern lightly onto the top layer, making sure not to cover the whole panel…

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and coloured each of the flower images twice using Peerless watercolour..I also stamped and coloured in a few leaves….once dry,I cut out the leaves and one each of the flowers…then to create the decoupage layer,I cut out the inner layer of the second flower and adhered it to the main flower using foam squares…

I adhered the leaves and the dimensional flowers to the card front, added the sentiment on a small panel and adhered some rhinestones to embellish my card…and finally,I added a bit of shimmer by using my Spectrum Noir sparkle marker…

Here is a close-up shot of the flowers…

So while I was practicing this technique,i decided to make a tag as well…this time using the Altenew Beautiful day peony flower outline stamp…
First I die-cut the tag using watercolour cardstock and painted a few lines in various colours…then I stamped the flower leaf images on a separate piece of cardstock and coloured them in using Peerless watercolours as well…once dry,I cut out the two of the flowers as is and one flower’s inner layer…
I placed the darker coloured flower and the leaves at the bottom of the tag and then placed another flower above them…and finally I used foam squares to adhere the inner layer on this flower…
I added the sentiment, some pink sequins and a pink ribbon and my tag was ready…

Just Saying Hello

The ‘Beautiful Day’ stamp set by Altenew always gives such great results…whether you choose to do the stamp layering with it or simply use the outline stamps…and without much effort you will create a wonderful element for your card or project…

The card base for today’s card is plain white and I have used a pink mat layer under the white top layer which I have embossed using a lattice embossing folder….
I stamped the flower outline images on a separate piece of cardstock using pink dye ink and cut them out and placed them on the card.I used a piece of craft foam under one of the flowers for a bit of dimension…then using leaf dies and glitter cardstock,I die cut a few leaves and tucked them under the flowers…
The sentiment has been stamped on a small strip of pink cardstock and I have used Nuvo crystal drops to embellish my card….

Celebrate & Enjoy Your Special Day – Two Cards

Today I’m sharing  two cards…and I think the only common thing with these two is that I have used coloured cardstock to create the card base for them…this year I really want to focus on getting my heat embossing a bit better(so I’m not scared of ruining my cards anymore)….and also want to practice using alphabet stamps to create my own messages on cards…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade Card by PriCreated
For my first card base I chose a bright red card base and a white top layer….on the top layer,I used a stencil and some distress inks to print the dotted background – making sure I leave enough blank space at the bottom for the sentiment…
I stamped the large ‘celebrate’ word using Versamark ink and Avery Elle Big Greetings stamp set and heat embossed that using gold embossing powder…I also stamped a lot of stars and heat embossed them too…
Finally I added a border at the base of the top layer using red ink and a few gold star sequins to finish the card..
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade Card by PriCreated

For my second card I chose and aqua green coloured card base and a watercolour paper top layer…I first stamped the large flower from Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set all around the edges of the cardstock and coloured them all in using Peerless watercolors….

I covered the center area with a greenish colour and stamped the sentiment using Mama Elephant Calli Letters alphabet stamps…I do need a lot more practice with these stamps….but they are one of the best ones I’ve used yet…

I couldn’t decide how to embellish this card so I just used a metallic silver marker and added a few dots near the flowers..

Flowery Hello Card

Hello…How are you doing??So Christmas and New Years busy time is over…now you can find the time to start planning crafts again…or do you take a longer break..??
Has the new year been good for you so far..??made any resolutions…??I stopped making resolutions long back…life changes so quickly and so many unexpected things happen all the time that it’s almost impossible to keep up with any resolutions…but if you are a planner and are very good at making plans and sticking to them, then you should be very proud of yourself…
The card I’m sharing today has a plain white card base and top layer…I lightly sponged in a bit of distress ink first and then used a darker  shade and a stencil to print a pattern on it….then I randomly stamped  Altenew painted flowers using Ranger Java Bean dye ink…and finally I splattered a bit of orange and green watercolours for effect and set it aside to dry…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the large flower and small leaf and flowers bunch from Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set and cut it out and placed them on the card…sine my background was so busy,I decided to not colour in the flower…
I have used yet another Altenew stamp set for the sentiment….it’s called Label Love and I have stamped using Ranger Cheese Puff dye ink,cut it out and placed it on the card…
Thank you for visiting my blog today…Have a great day ahead…!!

Wish You The Most Beautiful Day

My colouring might be getting a bit better due to so much practice but I am not at all good at drawing or painting….but that doesn’t stop me from using various colouring mediums in my cards other than inks and/or markers…I have used very basic and cheap watercolours that came in a set of small tubes for creating the background of the cards I’m sharing today….there was absolutely no need for skill or practice and the result was pretty good….
I also got to practice stamping with the Altenew Beautiful Day flower and leaves layering stamps…I think the more I will practice, the better results I will get from these…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade Card by PriCreated

For both cards I have used a black card base and cut watercolour cardstock to size for the top layer…I then used the watercolour tubes and a flat paintbrush to paint lines on the top layer without picking anymore colour on the brush so that every line is a bit lighter than the one below it…

Then on a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the layering flowers and leaves and cut them out and placed them on the top layer….

I stamped the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using white embossing powder….

To embellish the cards I have used Nuvo crystal drops…my friend Lois Wyche had tried out the Nuvo drops and the results were great…hopefully I can do a better job with these next time…

Flowers Pop-Up Card

Pop up cards have been around for a long time and from what I can see on the internet, card makers have been creating awesome ones…some cards are pretty intricate and quite detailed and I really can’t even begin to understand how those cards were made….

Today I’m sharing my first pop up card….although I must say that using a die to create the tabs made it quite easy for me…the die comes in a set called Make It Pop by Stampendous…so all I had to do was to use the pop up die for the inside printed insert of the card and folded the tabs the correct way for them to work and then attached the elements to those tabs….I have used some cut out peony flowers and leaves on the bottom tab and a ‘Happy Birthday’ banner on the top one…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade Card by PriCreated
I kept the outside/front of the card quite simple….the top layer is plain grey and I have used the smaller images from the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set and repeat stamped them around the edges…I coloured in the flowers and some leaves using Spectrum Noir markers….I stamped the sentiment in the middle and used Nuvo crystal drops to embellish the card…

Birthday Wishes Cards

So I sat down with a rough sketch for a card but couldn’t decide on what colours to use for the card base and top layer….I tried out two different combinations and here they are…
For the first card I have used a black card base and a lavender top layer and for the second card I used a purple card base and a white top layer…I then stamped the background flower image on lavender paper with black ink and on white paper with purple ink….I also attached a strip each of black and purple glitter cardstock on both the top layers…
The mini MISTI stamping tool made it so easy and quick to use the layering flower and leaves stamps from Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set…and once the stamping was done,I quickly cut them out and placed them on the card…The sentiment has been stamped on thin strips of cardstock and I have used a few orange and black sequins to embellish the card…
Thanks for visiting my blog today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!
