Wishing You Happiness – Stamped Shaker Card

A couple of weeks ago I saw a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire where she made many adorable stamped shaker cards…you do need stamps with a coordinating die for this technique and it was quite a simple and easy process…I think I’ll be making a few more of these soon!!

I stamped and gold heat embossed a large feather die on a white panel from Earth Has Music stamp set by Simon Says Stamp and coloured it in using Zig markers..I added a piece of white foam negative section which I die cut using the coordinating die….I added some gems and closed the shaker section using a piece of acetate…

I used the coordinating die again to die cut on the front panel and adhered the feather shaker piece underneath…there are lots of ways to create/assemble this shaker card but this is just how I did this one…I added a bit of Distress Inks on the edges of the front panel and adhered a stamped sentiment strip as well as some gold confetti sequins to embellish my card…
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog….Hope you will have a cheerful and blessed day today..Happy crafting!!

Vellum Embossed Flowers For The Flower Challenge #20 – Sending Love

While planning today’s card, I wanted to use border stamps and at the same time I wanted the background to be subtle as my vellum flowers and die cut sentiment were going to be quite bright…I usually go for bright and colourful backgrounds for my cards, so this was a good challenge for me..

I will be entering this card for the latest Flower Challenge #20 and the theme for this month is acetate/vellum…
I started by die cutting a white panel for the front of my card using a large dotted rectangle die..then  I stamped the border stamps using Altenew crisp inks – pink diamond and sand dunes..I also heat embossed two strips on this panel using Altenew platinum embossing powder and adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

On a piece of Vellum paper, I stamped the flower and leaf cluster twice and heat embossed them using the same platinum embossing powder…I coloured on the back of these images with my alcohol markers and then adhered these to the card, making sure to leave enough space for the die cut word…
I die cut the word ‘love’ twice using stitched alphabet dies and a bright red cardstock and layered them before placing them on the card front…I stamped the other half of the sentiment on a red label using white ink and adhered it just above the die cut word..and finally, to embellish my card I have added some small red and pink sequins..

Second Card For Altenew January Inspiration Challenge

Today I’m sharing my second card for the Altenew January 2018 Inspiration Challenge…I really liked the colours from this challenge and wanted to make a flowery card this time…I have not done any colouring in this card but have followed a recent tutorial by Ali (Ali Loves Cardmaking) where she demonstrated some easy alcohol ink techniques on photo print paper with some rubbing alcohol…

Now I didn’t want to get alcohol inks until I knew that I liked and could work with this technique ,so I really wanted to try it out with the things already had i.e. Spectrum Noir alcohol marker reinkers(sadly they all had almost dried up somehow but I could get just a bit of colour from the bottles)…Anyways, here is the image provided for this month’s challenge…
Once my inked up photo paper was dry,I stamped the flower and leaf images from the Beautiful Day stamp set using Versamark ink and quickly heat embossed them with the Altenew antique gold embossing powder and die cut them with the coordinating dies…

I didn’t want to adhere these die cuts straight onto the card front,so I added them to a plain white panel first…I had already splattered some picked raspberry Distress Ink as well as some Nuvo gold mousse on this panel before attaching it to the card base…I then adhered all the leaves and flowers to it…I quite like the fact that even after adding so many layers of die cut images,my card wasn’t heavy or thick..

I stamped the sentiment using autumn blaze crisp dye ink and then layered it with a panel on which I had stamped a solid stamp using pinkalicious crisp dye ink…I have used adhesive foam squares to adhere the sentiment onto the card front for a bit of dimension…and finally used some pink sequins to embellish my card…

Learning new techniques has always been the most exciting part of card making for me…and this technique is definitely going to be revisited many times…

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look at my card today…Happy crafting…!!

Today’s card is my entry for the Paper Smooches January 2018 Challenge and since the theme was ‘anything goes’, I pulled out my very favorite dog stamp from the Woofers & Tweeters set as well as the Seeing Stars set to create the background…
I started by creating the front panel of my card using some Distress Inks…I sponged in the following shades – tumbled glass, blueprint sketch, wilted violet, chipped sapphire and black soot…I also sprinkle some water for effect..I then randomly stamped the star stamps all over the panel using Versamark ink and the heat embossed them using some silver embossing powder…I then adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped the dog image using Versafine black ink and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder…I coloured it in and die cut using the coordinating die and placed it on my card front using some adhesive foam squares…

I stamped the sentiment on a small white banner using purple ink and layered it with a larger purple glitter label and adhered them to my card as well…then using the same purple glitter cardstock,I die cut a few stars and used them to embellish my card….I have used foam squares under these stars for a bit of dimension..

3 Cards – Girl n Boy,Reindeer Among Clouds And Large Blue Snowflake

Yet again I’m sharing three cards that have nothing in common except that they are all Christmas cards…the first card has a girl and a boy dressed up in winter gear and because we don’t have summers at Christmastime in Australia,I am sending it to someone who will be having cold weather in the holidays…my second card does not have any stamped images and I have used a large snowflake die cut as the focal point of this card….and my third card has a cute reindeer floating in the clouds and I have heat embossed the large sentiment on this card…

I started my first card by sponging in some Distress Oxide ink on a white front panel and splattered some water for effect…I have used the following shades – wild honey, salty ocean, wilted violet and black soot…I also embossed a border on this panel using a dotted rectangle die…I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using gold embossing powder and adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped and coloured in the boy and girl images and their winter accessories….I die cut them using coordinating dies and adhered them to the card front…I have used tiny red sequins in clusters of 3 to embellish my card…

I created my second card directly on the card front of a white card base….I first stamped some snowflakes using a very light blue ink shade from Altenew called Arctic and then used a border die by Li’l Inker Designs to die cut a panel from red glitter cardstock…I adhered this panel to the base of my card…
Then using Lawn Fawn’s stitched snowflake die I die cut a large snowflake from blue glitter cardstock as well as blue foam and layered them before adhering them onto the card front…I also added a small snowflake at the top of the large one…

I am also entering this card in Time Out Challenge #98…and as you can see.I was inspired by the snowflake on the first Christmas stocking hanger in the inspiration image..
Now my third card was so much fun…I used Distress Inks and MFT Clouds stencil to create the background on a white front panel and then stamped and heat embossed the large sentiment  using gold embossing powder…I used the following shades of inks – tumbled glass blueprint sketch chipped sapphire wilted violet..

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the reindeer image by Clearly Besotted(jingle bells stamp set)…It’s a kind of a layering stamp so there was no colouring required…I used Altenew mocha, crimson and tide blue dye inks for the coloured layers..I die cut this reindeer and adhered it to the card using some adhesive foam and finally to embellish my card,I have used red and green Nuvo drops and some glossy accents on the reindeer…
