Two Long Cards – Congrats & Celebrate

Hydrangeas are one of my favorites and I can’t wait to see them bloom this summer….till then I’m quite happy to make cards with Hydrangeas stamps….the cards I’m sharing today are 4″x7&1/4″ and were the perfect size to fill up with a lot of flower images…especially the Garden Hydrangeas stamps because usually I’m only able to add no more than two of those images in a standard size card…

I used a textured purple cardstock to create the card base for my first card….I the cut watercolour cardstock to size for the front panel and stamped the Hydrangea flowers and leaves using Versamark ink and heat embossed them using some white embossing powder….

I painted them in with my watercolour pens and a waterbrush using blue and purple shades as these are the colours of the Hydrangeas that grow in my home… once the panel was dry,I adhered it to the card base…

I die cut the word ‘congrats’ from purple glitter cardstock as well as purple craft foam and layered them together before adhering them to the card front…but before I did that I stamped the rest of the sentiment using purple dye ink..

I also adhered a scalloped border at the base of my card which I die cut from the same purple glitter cardstock as the sentiment…I added a few clear Nuvo drops to embellish my card…

I will be entering this card in the latest Flower Challenge #13 who are currently celebrating their 1st birthday…the prizes are amazing for this challenge and prizes 1,4,5 or 6 would be my choice if I am lucky enough to win..
For my second card I chose a dark pink textured cardstock to create the card base and a smaller front panel from white cardstock…
I used the Beautiful Day layering stamp set from Altenew and covered the front panel with the images by masking and re-stamping the same flowers..I used Altenew crisp dye inks for stamping these images…for the flowers I have used cotton candy, coral berry and purple wine shades and for the leaves and other smaller images I simply coloured them in using my alcohol markers…

For the sentiment,I die cut the word celebrate 3 times from the same cardstock as the card base and layered them up before adhering it to the card front…I then applied some glossy accents on top of this die cut for a bit of shine…and finally I added rhinestones in various sizes to embellish my card…

Hydrangeas Thanks Card – Altenew July 2017 Inspiration Challenge

Today I’m sharing the second card that I created for the Altenew Inspiration Challenge….I have also tried to get a better picture of the stencil embossed grid background…it looks beautiful but I was unable to click a picture which shows it clearly…

I started with a plain white cardstock same size as the card front and used the Altenew grid stencil and ruby red ink for the background…I created an ombre effect by using less ink on some areas and more on some…keeping the stencil in place,I embossed the top layer and then adhered it to the card front…

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the layered Hydrangeas and leaves…I used frosty pink, forest glades and jet black shades here…in one of the Hydrangeas I kept the background white and only stamped the layering detail section in pink…I cut these elements out and placed them on the card…

I stamped the sentiment on a die cut vellum label and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder…I coloured in the back of this label using ruby red ink and then adhered it to a larger glitter gold label…I placed the sentiment above the flowers…

To embellish my card I have used die cut sequins from the same glitter gold cardstock as the sentiment label…I have also used craft foam under a few elements to add a bit of depth..

Altenew Garden Hydrangeas – Just For You

After making a pop-up card with the Altenew Garden Hydrangeas stamp set,I decided to make a couple more…the first card I made today turned out almost as planned but the second one I’m not too sure about…although I still like it and it looks good but I feel it’s missing something….anyways,I just love this Hydrangeas stamp set….

For my first card,I chose a lavender coloured textured cardstock to make the card base as well as the top layer…I embossed the top layer using Seeing Spots embossing folder and then lightly sponged in some shaded lilac distress ink…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the outline stamp of the flowers and a few of the leaves and coloured them in using watercolour pencils and a water brush…once dry,I placed them on the card…
The sentiment has been stamped on a strip of lavender cardstock and I have placed it above another light blue banner using craft foam..

For my second card I chose a bright green card base and a plain white top layer….on this top layer,I stamped the base stamp layer of the Garden Hydrangeas layering stamp set using blue dye ink and a couple of green leaves as well…
I then cut a piece of vellum as bit larger than the top layer and then using my mini Misti and watermark ink,I stamped the top layer of the Hydrangeas and leaves and quickly heat embossed it using silver embossing powder….I then placed this layer above the white stamped top layer and tucked the excess paper behind it….I have not used any adhesive for the vellum layer,I simply used silver string and wrapped that around…
I die cut the word happy from silver glitter cardstock and stamped the word birthday on a silver strip of card and adhered these to the card…and finally to embellish the card I have used a few blue sequins…
Thank you so much for visiting today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

Pop-up Hydrangeas – Birthday Card For Me

I have chosen a few of my favorite things to create a card that I’m sharing with you on my birthday today….other than Carnations,Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers so I chose the Altenew Garden Hydrangeas stamp set for today’s card…

Distress inks are another favorite of mine so I made a colourful background using them…I also like using gold and silver so I have used both…and since I love giving surprises and what better than a pop up card for that…!!

The card base is plain white 4″x 7 and has a slightly smaller insert for the pop- up section…to create the simple front of the card, I first splattered some metallic gold paint and let it dry…I then die cut the word ‘wishes’ from silver foil cardstock and stamped the word ‘birthday’ on a strip of gold foil cardstock…I have also added a few pink enamel dots as embellishments..

I then started on the pop-up insert section…first I sponged in lots of Distress Inks to create the bright background…I have used the following shades – evergreen bough, twisted citron, mowed lawn, salty ocean, blueprint sketch and peacock feather…I then used a pop up die to create the pop up base and splattered some gold paint…I also stamped the sentiment on one corner using black ink…
On two separate pieces of watercolor paper,I simply covered them with twinkling H2O watercolour paint…once dry,I stamped the Hydrangea outlines using watermark ink and heat embossed them using silver embossing powder…since this is a layering stamp set,I stamped one of the layers with watermark ink again and heat embossed that with gold embossing powder…I did the same for the leaves before cutting out all these elements and adhering them onto the 3 pop up sections on the card insert….
