Mr & Mrs – Wedding Congratulations Cards

I am sharing two wedding congratulations cards today….the design and layout is the same but I have made one with a pink theme and another with a lavender theme…my apologies for the bad pictures, even though I tried many times – the gold foil cardstock that I have used to die cut the mr & mrs does not show well…

On the two watercolour cardstock front panels, I stamped the Mama Elephant Wild Meadow borders and gold heat embossed them….I coloured them in using Zig markers and gold heat embossed half of the sentiment as well…

I die cut the mr & mrs word die from gold foil cardstock and layered it with the same die cut from white craft foam and then adhered them to the card front to complete the sentiment…I punched out some butterflies and coloured them in before adhering them on the card front…

Two Small Shaped Cards

I like to create shaped cards every once in a while….the last time I made one, it was a heart shaped card for a challenge and I wanted to create a few more…they were pretty quick to make so I made two while I was at it…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

For my first card I die cut two scalloped circles from heavyweight white cardstock and adhered them to create the card base…next I die cut a circle from watercolour cardstock for the front panel and applied some Distress Oxide inks on it…I have used salty ocean, blueprint sketch and shaded lilac for this and then dabbed it with a wet stamp shammy to create that background effect…I added a small grassy die cut on this circle and adhered it to the card front…
On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped and coloured in the sheep and cut it out and placed it on the card front…I then stamped the sentiment using black ink and embellished my card with a few clear confetti sequins..

My second card was much quicker to create….I first die cut two edged circles from black cardstock for the card base and one smaller one from kraft cardstock for the front panel…I stamped the sentiment and the pattern with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder…it is a layering stamp, so I heat embossed the sentiment layer with white embossing powder and then adhered this top panel to the card base..
To add a bit of interest, I coloured in the flower and two leaves with a shimmery silver watercolour and adhered some tiny red sequins to embellish it…

I think I spent more time trying to click pictures of these two cards than I did making them…one or both of them kept rolling away…and this is the only picture of these two ‘not in motion’…ha ha..

Watercoloured Dahlias For Altenew April Inspiration Challenge

I am always blown away by all the cards created by Erum Tasneem(Vibgyor Cards)..if you have seen her work, then you will agree that they are the most beautiful works of art….and I’ve made today’s card for this month’s Altenew Inspiration Challenge after being inspired by watching a video tutorial by her….

This is the image provided for the challenge and I chose the three colours highlighted from the picture…
I started by stamping the Altenew Dahlia flowers and leaves on watercolour cardstock using watermark ink and heat embossing all of  them with Altenew antique gold embossing powder…I coloured these images with a lot of water and some Peerlesss watercolours(bubble gum, amethyst, cobalt blue and grass green) as well as some Gansai Tambi blue gold watercolour for all that extra shimmer…

I added a gold foil front panel to my plain white card base and then die cut a smaller top panel from watercolour cardstock…I applied some amethyst Peerleess watercolour randomly to add some colour to the background and once dry,I splatter some black watercolour before adhering this panel to the card front..
Next,I placed all the coloured in flowers and leaves on my card and used foam squares under a few of them for a bit of dimension…I stamped and gold heat embossed the sentiment on a black strip of cardstock and added a thin gold strip below it before placing it on my card as well…and to embellish my card,I have added some black Nuvo drops here and there…

I need to practise my watercolouring quite a lot so I can get better results…it is on the top of my ‘to do’ list for this year…and I’ll be so happy if my watercolouring improves even a bit…
I’m glad you stopped by to take a look at my card….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

Something To Make You Smile

When I made a shaker card few days ago,I was left with the die cut word ‘smile’…had I kept the die cut somewhere ‘safe’ to ‘use later’, I really would’ve never got around to using it…and it was perfect for this card so I was quite happy I was able to use the die cut word…

Firstly,I stamped the dotted background using Distress Oxide inks and the polka dot turnabout stamp…I have used blueprint sketch, evergreen bough, picked raspberry and seedless preserves shades here…I then die cut the front panel from the stamped piece using a stitched rectangle die and adhered it to a pink textured card base..

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped and gold heat embossed the flowers and leaf images and coloured them in using a water brush and the same colours of Oxide inks that I used to create the polka dot pattern…I die cut them using the coordinating dies and placed them on my card, making sure to leave the right amount of space for the sentiment…
I sponged in some mermaid lagoon and blueprint sketch Oxide inks on the die cut word before adhering it near the base of the panel…I stamped the rest of the sentiment on a white die cut banner and adhered it above the die cut word…

I applied some shimmer to the flowers and added some clear sequins to embellish it…

Be Happy – Altenew March Inspiration Challenge

This month’s Altenew Challenge is by Virginia LuI really love her cardmaking style and my entry for the challenge is also inspired by her as she has created some cards with heat embossed flowers on vellum which look so very very beautiful….and that’s exactly what I did for my card..heat embossed some flowers…

This is the image and colours for the challenge…

I cut watercolor cardstock to size for my front panel and used a piece of acetate, Altenew crisp dye inks and water spray bottle to create the background by simply smooshing the ink on paper…I have used aqualicious, coral bliss and sunkissed shades here…once dry,I used a postage stamp edge rectangle die to emboss the edges of my panel and then adhered it to a plain white card base…

On a piece on vellum paper,I stamped a few Cosmos flowers using Versamark ink and then heat embossed it using gold embossing powder…I didn’t have the matching dies by then,so I simply cut them out…I carefully adhered these flowers to my front panel by using a liquid glue just behind the embossed areas so it wouldn’t show…
Next,I die cut the word ‘BE’ three times from thick cardstock using bold caps die and layered them together…I sponged some coral bliss ink on it before adhering it the the card front..I gold heat embossed  the rest of the sentiment on a small white strip and sponged aqualicious ink on it to stick to the colours in the challenge..and finally I added some gold Nuvo drops to embellish my card…

Alcohol Ink Background Birthday Card

My card today has my very first alcohol ink background….after my successful previous effort with my alcohol marker reinker,I decided to get some ‘proper’ alcohol inks…and my goodness how addictive they are…there were so many colours to choose from but I chose to start my collection with some bright colours – no surprises there….

After my background was ready and completely dry,I stamped and gold heat embossed the large doily image…I then used a dotted rectangle die to die cut the top layer and adhered it to a plain white card base…
I die the word smile from light pink card cardstock as well as pink craft foam and adhered it to the card front…I stamped the rest of my sentiment on a die cut banner from the same light pink cardstock and adhered it just below..
On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the little fairy image and cut it out before placing it on my card…and finally to embellish my card I have used some light pink sequins…

Little Girl Decorating Tree & Pencil Colours On Black Card

The two cards I’m sharing today are very different from each other…because this year I have tried my best not to make two cards that are the exact same…until last year I was still making a big bunch of cards assembly line style and just a handful of other cards…which also means that I have taken a long time to create all my cards and am still making a few…hopefully with better planning and some experience from this year,I will be able to do a much better job next year… 🙂

I have repurposed the stamp set by Simon Says Stamp called Lila’s Heart and instead of Lila holding a heart,I have placed a bauble in her hand and it looks like she is decorating the tree…
I created the background using printed cardstock for this card and used a cross stitch rectangle die to cut out the front panel…I added a red and green fringe scallop border at the top of this panel and adhered it to a white card base..
Then using the Altenew Night Before Christmas tree die, I die cut a tree and sponged in some Distress inks..I have used twisted citron and peeled paint shades here and splattered a bit of water for effect…I adhered this tree to the card front and added the coloured in baubles to it as well as the gold star on the top…I added the little on the side using some adhesive foam strips for a bit of dimension…
I decided not to add any embellishments on this card and I didn’t add a sentiment either as I thought it would really crowd up the card…

On my second card I have used Prismacolor pencils on black cardstock…I stamped and gold heat embossed the gift boxes as well as the sentiment and then coloured in on the images in various colours..I added some glossy accents on top and once dry,I adhered this panel to a textured yellow card base…
Although I can see the imperfections of my colouring in quite clear in the picture, they are not visible when I see it in person…I think I need to pay attention to the edges while colouring in…and sharpen those pencils too…ha ha..!!

Altenew November Challenge

The card that I’m sharing today is my entry for the Altenew November Challenge….there are three main colours in the inspiration image and I decided to used those for my card…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
This is the image and colours provided for this  month’s inspiration challenge…
I started by cutting out the front panel of my card from watercolor cardstock and then stamped the leaves randomly using sunkissed dye ink…I splattered some red gold Gansai Tambi starry watercolor on it and once dry,I adhered it to a bright orange card base..
From a separate piece of watercolour cardstock I die cut the layered flowers and a leaf bunch and then stamped the coordinating images from Floral Fantasy stamp set…yes,I know I did it the other way around…ha ha…but that’s how it happened and I went with it…I used orange cream and dark chocolate shades for the flowers and sunkissed for the leaf…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I adhered all the leaves and flowers to my card front and used some adhesive foam squares on the top flower…
I gold heat embossed the sentiment on an orange panel and layered it with a larger gold glitter cardstock panel and  adhered it just above the flowers…and finally I adhered a few gold and brown sequins to embellish my card..
I’m super glad you stopped by to take a look at my card today….Hope you will have a beautiful and happy day ahead…!!
