YAY – You Rock!

It’s the first month of autumn here in Australia…and I wanted to make a card with autumnal colours with a happy message on it…this card would be great for someone who has reached a personal goal or some other remarkable achievement…I am also entering this card in the current Timeout Challenge #104 where the theme of the challenge is BOLD so I reached for the Altenew caps bold alphabet die to create my card…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by repeat stamping the background on the front panel for my card…I have only used one layer of the leaves and two layers of the flower here and stamped them using sand dunes, peach perfect and sunkissed crisp dye inks…I used the dotted stamp with rocky shore ink to fill in the empty spaces making sure not to crowd the stamped area…

I used a dotted rectangle die to emboss on this panel and then adhered it to a plain white card base…

I then die cut the word ‘yay’ from white cardstock using the bold caps alphabet dies and sponged some espresso ink on it before layering it on with the white craft foam die cut and adhering it to the card front…I also stamped a small label using autumn blaze ink and adhered it over the large die cut word…
On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the layered flowers and leaves and die cut them using the coordinating dies before placing them in two groups on the card front..I have used autumn blaze, fire brick and ruby red for the flowers & rocky shores and espresso for the leaves….
To embellish my card I have used a few Nuvo jewel drops..

Second Card For Altenew January Inspiration Challenge

Today I’m sharing my second card for the Altenew January 2018 Inspiration Challenge…I really liked the colours from this challenge and wanted to make a flowery card this time…I have not done any colouring in this card but have followed a recent tutorial by Ali (Ali Loves Cardmaking) where she demonstrated some easy alcohol ink techniques on photo print paper with some rubbing alcohol…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
Now I didn’t want to get alcohol inks until I knew that I liked and could work with this technique ,so I really wanted to try it out with the things already had i.e. Spectrum Noir alcohol marker reinkers(sadly they all had almost dried up somehow but I could get just a bit of colour from the bottles)…Anyways, here is the image provided for this month’s challenge…
Once my inked up photo paper was dry,I stamped the flower and leaf images from the Beautiful Day stamp set using Versamark ink and quickly heat embossed them with the Altenew antique gold embossing powder and die cut them with the coordinating dies…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I didn’t want to adhere these die cuts straight onto the card front,so I added them to a plain white panel first…I had already splattered some picked raspberry Distress Ink as well as some Nuvo gold mousse on this panel before attaching it to the card base…I then adhered all the leaves and flowers to it…I quite like the fact that even after adding so many layers of die cut images,my card wasn’t heavy or thick..

I stamped the sentiment using autumn blaze crisp dye ink and then layered it with a panel on which I had stamped a solid stamp using pinkalicious crisp dye ink…I have used adhesive foam squares to adhere the sentiment onto the card front for a bit of dimension…and finally used some pink sequins to embellish my card…

Learning new techniques has always been the most exciting part of card making for me…and this technique is definitely going to be revisited many times…

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look at my card today…Happy crafting…!!

Birthday Dahlias Coloured In With Crayola Markers

I never thought I’d get such a great result from Crayola fine line markers and a water brush…I got the set of 12 colours and this set was quite cheap and easily available..the only thing is that they work best with water only on watercolour cardstock…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by stamping the flowers and the leaves on watercolour cardstock…I did quite a bit of masking as well to make all the flowers and leaves look like they were a part of a bunch…I then added only a little bit of colour from the marker and used a water brush to pull out the colour and fill up the flowers and leaves…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Once dry,I die cut the top layer from this panel and adhered it to the a plain white card base..

Using Altenew sapphire ink pad ,I stamped the sentiment on a small strip and cut it out and adhered it to the card front using some adhesive foam underneath…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

To embellish my card I have simply added a few sparkling clear sequins and used my sparkle pen to add a bit of glitter to the flowers and leaves…

I’m sharing a picture of the marker packaging in case you’d like to try them out…as far as I know, there are two different 12 packs and a 40 pack of markers…I used this one for my card today and it was selling for A$2.99 when I bought it….
So very glad you stopped by my blog today….Hope you will have a bright and sunshiny day today…!!

Bright Flowers

When I started this card,I did not have a set idea or direction for it…so I was pleasantly surprised with the result…I wish this would happen more often…!! 🙂

I started with the flowers and leaves this time..I stamped them on watercolor cardstock using watermark ink and then heat embossed them using copper embossing powder…I kept the colouring in fairly simple and used Derwent Intense Pencils and a water brush to colour in…once dry,I cut them out and started to prepare the rest of the card…
I chose a textured blue cardstock for the card base and a white top layer…on  this top layer I used Altenew sketched lines stencil and lightly sponged in broken china Distress Oxide ink….I also splattered some black watercolour for effect.. and once dry,I adhered the top layer to the card base…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I then adhered the flowers and the leaves to the top layer, using foam squares to elevate just a couple of the flowers…I added a white Nuvo drop at the center of each of the flowers..
I stamped the sentiment using blue dye ink and layered it with a brown glitter cardstock before adding it to the card front…and to embellish my card I have used Orange Marmalade Nuvo Jewel Drops…

Altenew August Inspiration Challenge

Erum is a fantastic artist whose card is the inspiration for this month’s Altenew Inspiration Challenge…I took a lot of inspiration from both her cards to create mine..I did a whole lot of heat embossing on Vellum and wasn’t sure if I would be able to put it all together…but I did…and here is my card..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

This is Erum’s card and the colours for this challenge…
I started by creating the background on the white front panel using Altenew sketched lines stencil and vintage photo Distress Oxide ink…I then splattered some gold paint on it…I adhered this panel to a white card base once it was dry…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I stamped all the flower and leaf images on Vellum using watermark ink and heat embossed all of them using some gold embossing powder…I then used various Distress Inks and a bit of water to colour in all these images…I have used peacock feather, mermaid lagoon, forest moss and ground espresso shades here…I also coloured in a couple of images using gold watercolour..
I splattered these images with gold paint as well and once dry,I cut them all out and adhered them to the card front using some multi medium adhesive…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I stamped the sentiment on a white piece of cardstock using Altenew dark chocolate dye ink and layered it with gold glitter cardstock before adhering it to the card with some foam squares…I have used a few tiny gold sequins to embellish my card…

A Card For Mummy & A Card For Daddy

After viewing a lot of Mother’s and Father’s Day cards on various blogs,Instagram,Facebook etc recently,I got quite inspired to create a few myself…I have also been able to try out my lowercase dies for these cards which I really wanted to try after viewing so many awesome alphabet die cards by Therese Calvrid

In Australia,Father’s Day is celebrated in September while Mother’s Day is celebrated in May…so it’s a bit too early for me to create a Father’s Day card..but I’m sure all cardmakers will agree that it’s never too early to make cards for any occasion…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Both my cards are very similar and I made them both at the same time…I started with cutting the card bases to size from coloured cardstock…I then cut bright yellow and green plain cardstock for the front panel which I have embossed using the WRMK next level embossing folders…I cut these panels 1cm. short from one side only and adhered them to the card front…

I then die cut the words ‘mummy’ and ‘daddy’ from printed DSP using the lowercase dies…I die cut the same words again from craft foam and adhered the foam behind the alphabets before placing them onto the cards..

On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped, coloured in and cut out the Cuddly Koalas with their joey’s(that’s what you call a baby Koala) and placed them onto the card as well…I stamped the sentiments on thin strips of leftover cardstock from the card base and added those to the cards as well…
Finally I have used Nuvo Crystal Drops to embellish these cards…

I have had a ton of fun making these cards…Hope you liked these too…

Flowers – Just For You

I am always amazed at all the unique results I get when I use distress inks with water….and my favourite technique is to use an embossing folder spritzed with water and used as a stamp on a panel sponged with distress inks…
For today’s card I chose a pink card base and a distress watercolor paper top layer…I stamped the flowers and stems using black ink and then masked them using Pebeo drawing gum and a thin paint brush…
Once the gum was dry,I sponged in some distress inks to cover the background…the shades I have used are – seedless preserves, wilted violet, blueprint sketch, picked raspberry and spun sugar..I have then spritzed an embossing folder with water and stamped on the top layer…
It took a while to dry and after that I removed the gum and coloured in the flowers using Intense pencils and a waterbrush…
I placed the stamped sentiment on the card and I have used Nuvo crsytal drops to embellish this card…
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look at my card…Have a blessed day today…!!

Thanks A Bunch

Every now and then I challenge myself to make a card which is not too colourful and looks classy…as I know that even though I love making them, not everyone likes bright cards…I was very careful with this card and quite happy with the result as well…
The card base is plain white and I have cute plain green cardstock at an angle for the top layer…I also embossed the top layer using the WRMK next level quilted embossing folder and adhered it to the card base…
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the Altenew Dahlia blossoms…it’s a layering stamp set and saves you the time that you would spend on colouring in…once stamped,I cut these flowers and leaves out and placed them on the card…
To embellish the card I have used bottle green and ebony black Nuvo crystal drops..
Thank you for visiting my blog today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!
