You Brighten My Day

I’m sharing a simple watercoloured card today…I have been practicing with my Aqua markers these days and I feel that I can water colour in smaller images better with these markers and a water brush rather than colouring directly with a paint brush…also I was quite happy that I was able to keep my front panel clean and smudge free… 🙂

I started by stamping and heat embossing the large image on a watercolour cardstock front panel..I then coloured it in with the Spectrum Aqua markers and a water brush and once dry,I embossed  the edges using the double stitched rectangle die….I stamped the sentiment on using Altenew tide blue crisp ink and then adhered this panel onto a plain white card base…

On a separate piece of watercolour cardstock,I stamped and heat embossed the two butterfly images and coloured these with Aqua markers as well and then cut them out and placed them on my card using some adhesive dots…and finally I used my clear sparkle pen to add a bit of shimmer to the images…

Post#197 – Girl With Balloons Birthday Card

I have recently started using the card size of 4.5″x 5.75″ and I quite like it and plan to use this size often from now on…..especially for cards that I feel would otherwise have looked too full on a standard size card and might not justify the design….
The card base is a bright red one…and the top layer is made from watercolour paper that has been die cut from the largest stitched rectangle die….I then used peerless watercolours to  create a light background for the card….
Once the top layer was dry I stamped all the balloons and strings on it…on a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped and coloured in the little girl and cut it out…I have used adhesive squares to adhere the image onto the card to give it a bit of dimension….
I then die cut the scripty word ‘happy birthday’ using a gold cardstock and placed it above the balloons…I have also added just a few golden star sequins on the balloons as embellishments…
Hope you liked this card…

I bought the button punch a very long time ago….but I have not used it much at all…somehow I could not come up with ideas…even though this one punch can punch out 5 different types of button shapes…
So I sat down and took just one of the shapes to design this card…On a white base card I used a white top layer as well…I punched four circles on it and attached it to the base card…on each one of these circle spaces I attached four different coloured buttons punches…and to give it a bit more of a button effect, I used a thin gold string to sew through…
I stamped the sentiment at the top of the card…then cut out a stamped image of a little girl and adhered it to the front of the card using adhesive foam squares…
Hopefully I will be able to think of more ideas to create something with my button punch…
Thanks for taking a look at my post today…Hope you liked this card…
