Watercoloured Dahlias For Altenew April Inspiration Challenge

I am always blown away by all the cards created by Erum Tasneem(Vibgyor Cards)..if you have seen her work, then you will agree that they are the most beautiful works of art….and I’ve made today’s card for this month’s Altenew Inspiration Challenge after being inspired by watching a video tutorial by her….

This is the image provided for the challenge and I chose the three colours highlighted from the picture…
I started by stamping the Altenew Dahlia flowers and leaves on watercolour cardstock using watermark ink and heat embossing all of  them with Altenew antique gold embossing powder…I coloured these images with a lot of water and some Peerlesss watercolours(bubble gum, amethyst, cobalt blue and grass green) as well as some Gansai Tambi blue gold watercolour for all that extra shimmer…

I added a gold foil front panel to my plain white card base and then die cut a smaller top panel from watercolour cardstock…I applied some amethyst Peerleess watercolour randomly to add some colour to the background and once dry,I splatter some black watercolour before adhering this panel to the card front..
Next,I placed all the coloured in flowers and leaves on my card and used foam squares under a few of them for a bit of dimension…I stamped and gold heat embossed the sentiment on a black strip of cardstock and added a thin gold strip below it before placing it on my card as well…and to embellish my card,I have added some black Nuvo drops here and there…

I need to practise my watercolouring quite a lot so I can get better results…it is on the top of my ‘to do’ list for this year…and I’ll be so happy if my watercolouring improves even a bit…
I’m glad you stopped by to take a look at my card….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

Thanks

I loved this paper from Lawn Fawn and immediately wanted to use it for my card background….but I had to make the right choice in terms of stamps, embellishments, etc. so that I didn’t end up with a card in which the background or the images look out of place or mismatched…so I took a good amount of time to choose carefully, but after that, the card came together pretty quickly..

I used the large cross stitched rectangle die to die cut the front panel and adhered it to a plain white card base…then on a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped the leaf images using Versamark ink and heat embossed them using some gold embossing powder…I coloured these embossed images with some Gansai Tambi gold watercolour and once dry,I die cut them with the coordinating dies…

I die cut the word ‘thanks’ using the big scripty word die from some white glitter cardstock as well as  twice from some white cardstock and layered them before adhering them to the card front…I then arranged the die cut leaves just above the sentiment..and finally to embellish my card I have added just three gold Nuvo drops…

Fuchsias Anniversary Card

I love the pink and purple coloured Fuchsia flowers and have two plants(bushes rather) in my home…they bloomed beautifully over the summer and still have a few flowers blooming now and then…my younger daughter used to make garlands out of them when she was little…I wanted to use different colour inks for this stamp set but had to make at least one card with the pink and purple Fuchsias…I am also entering my card in The Flower Challenge #18…the theme for this month’s challenge is ‘anything goes’…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by creating a background for my card which would add to the charm of these beautiful flowers rather than attract all the attention…so I stamped the lace background stamp on a watercolour panel using watermark ink and heat embossed it with a super fine pearl embossing powder…I then covered the whole panel with red gold watercolour and set it aside to dry..

On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped the fuchsia and leaves and die cut them with the coordinating dies before adhering them to my card…toi add a bit of depth,I have added  some adhesive foam underneath the flowers and leaf branch at the front…

I die cut the sentiment from white cardstock as well as purple craft foam…I sponged some pink ink on the white die cut and layered them before adhering to the card front…

To embellish my card I have used some adhesive pearls and applied glossy accents over the sentiment and shimmer over the flowers…
Thanks you for visiting today…Hope you will have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

Scrapbook Boutique February Challenge

When I saw the moodboard for this month’s challenge at Scrapbook Boutique, I knew I was going to use my favorite Distress Inks for it but instead of using the ink pads,I have used the reinkers of the colours for a more concentrated and bright colour…

This is the moodboard for this month’s challenge…
As always,I started with the background,I die cut watercolour cardstock using a stitched rectangle die and then applied water on it…I then added a little bit of Distress Inks reinker onto this panel…I have used tea dye and mustard seed shades here..I also added some red gold Gansai Tambi starry watercolour to this panel…once dry,I dry embossed the panel using WRMK next level geometric embossing folder and adhered it to a plain black card base…

I die cut a piece of black cardstock using the stitched dome stax and embossed it using the swiss dots embossing folder and adhered this to the front panel…I then die cut the champagne glasses and even though it is not visible in the photos – I have die cut these from acetate, vellum and white cardstock and layered them…I also used a marker on the acetate die cut to create the effect of filled up glasses…

Finally I die cut the word ‘cheer’ from gold foil cardstock and adhered it to the card front and added some sequins to embellish it…

I’m Thinking Of You Today – Spotlight Stamping For TFC#16

The card I’m sharing today is my take on ‘Spotlight Stamping’ which is the challenge for January at The Flower Challenge blog…I created three windows on the front panel through which you can see the coloured in images…the images on this top panel are not coloured in and so the focus goes straight to the gold coloured flowers inside the windows..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
You could also participate in this challenge by clicking here – TFC#16
I started by laying out my stamps on my MISTI so that they stamp just a half panel(except the large flower in the center)…this way I could rotate the panel 180 degrees and stamp the images on the other half easily…I created two panels this way….one stamped with black ink and the second one with picked raspberry Distress Oxide ink…

I then used double pierced rectangle dies to create the three windows as well as the border of the front panel…on the base panel,I coloured in the flower images using gold watercolor and added some gold dots as well as a few pink die cut centers for the flowers….I then adhered this panel to a white card base…

On the back of the top panel,I added some adhesive foam strips and then placed it on the card front…I stamped the sentiment on a large die cut banner and used some more adhesive foam to place it on the card front…they don’t make much of a difference but I have added some clear Nuvo drops to embellish my card…

Altenew November Challenge

The card that I’m sharing today is my entry for the Altenew November Challenge….there are three main colours in the inspiration image and I decided to used those for my card…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
This is the image and colours provided for this  month’s inspiration challenge…
I started by cutting out the front panel of my card from watercolor cardstock and then stamped the leaves randomly using sunkissed dye ink…I splattered some red gold Gansai Tambi starry watercolor on it and once dry,I adhered it to a bright orange card base..
From a separate piece of watercolour cardstock I die cut the layered flowers and a leaf bunch and then stamped the coordinating images from Floral Fantasy stamp set…yes,I know I did it the other way around…ha ha…but that’s how it happened and I went with it…I used orange cream and dark chocolate shades for the flowers and sunkissed for the leaf…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I adhered all the leaves and flowers to my card front and used some adhesive foam squares on the top flower…
I gold heat embossed the sentiment on an orange panel and layered it with a larger gold glitter cardstock panel and  adhered it just above the flowers…and finally I adhered a few gold and brown sequins to embellish my card..
I’m super glad you stopped by to take a look at my card today….Hope you will have a beautiful and happy day ahead…!!

Ghostly Greetings

Today I’m sharing my second Halloween card which I’m also entering in the MFT Sketch Challenge 355…this is an interactive card and if you scroll down to the very bottom of this post, you will be able to see a video of my finished card….I really like these cute images from the My Favorite Things Fab-BOO-lous stamp set and there were quite a few of them in the set so I had a hard time deciding which ones to use on my card today…

This is a sketch on which I have based my card design for the challenge
To get started,I cut up the front panel from watercolour cardstock to size and applied Distress Inks on it to create the background…I have used the shades carved pumpkin, blueprint sketch, wilted violet and black soot…I then splattered some water for effect as well as some white gold watercolour from the Gansai Tambi starry watercolor set…
Once this panel was dry,I die cut the three spinner channels and added the haunted house and tree that I die cut from black cardstock..I have also added some vellum pieces behind all windows and the door of the house which I coloured in with a yellow marker..
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the ghost images and cut them out..I added the spinner discs underneath each one and added a 1/2” black circle punch out to the back of the discs once they were placed inside the channels….
I then added foam tape behind the front panel and adhered it to a black card base…and finally I added some glossy accents to all three cute ghost images for a bit of shine..

Post Update – Missed out on entering the challenge by a few hours…oopsies..!!

A Halloween Card

Many Australians have started to celebrate Halloween nowadays, but I guess it’s mostly for dressing up and having fun…I do get a few kids in costumes turning up at my door for trick or treating…but that’s about it…I have managed to make a couple of cards for Halloween this year…sharing the first one today and the second one in my next post…

I decided to make interactive Halloween cards, and this one has three flaps on the front, which when opened shows images of cute little ghosts…I have mostly used Lawn Fawn stamps and dies for this card..

I started by die cutting a front panel from white cardstock using large stitched rectangle die…I then sponged in some Distress Oxide inks to cover this panel…I have used fossilized amber, spiced marmalade and vintage photo shades here…I also splattered some gold paint on it…then, using the smallest die from Lift The Flap die set,I die cut three sections in the middle of the panel…
I die cut the word ‘happy’ from black cardstock and adhered it above the flaps and stamped the word ‘Halloween’ underneath using black ink..I also die cut the word BOO from black cardstock as well as black craft foam using an uppercase die set and adhered these above the flaps..

I used a plain white card base and lightly marked the spaces that would show once you lift the flaps…I stamped  and coloured in the ghost images and because they looked a bit dull,I masked them and used Distress Inks to create a colourful background..I have used wilted violet, carved pumpkin and evergreen bough shades of Distress Inks…
I adhered the front panel to my card base and my card was ready..

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog…Have a great day ahead..Happy crafting..!!

For The Love Of Harry Potter!!

The title of my post tells you why I made this card…but it doesn’t tell you how much fun I’ve had making it…he he…the Harry Potter movies are an absolute favorite of my family and we have watched them together way too many times to count…there are 3 different stamp sets from Sweet Stamp Shop which have all the main characters from this series…even Hagrid and Dumbledore..!!

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I first started by creating the background on watercolour cardstock….I randomly applied the greens and blues from Gansai watercolours and then the gold from the starry colours set..once dry,I added a gold die cut frame on this panel and adhered it to a plain white card front…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the images of Harry,Ron,Hermoine, the broomsticks and the sorting hat and coloured them in using Spectrum Noir markers and cut them out before placing them on the card…

I stamped the sentiment on a gold banner and adhered it to the card front using some adhesive foam and added the sorting hat on it…

With all the gold foil and gold watercolour as well,I decided not to embellish the card…
