Pop-up Hydrangeas – Birthday Card For Me

I have chosen a few of my favorite things to create a card that I’m sharing with you on my birthday today….other than Carnations,Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers so I chose the Altenew Garden Hydrangeas stamp set for today’s card…

Distress inks are another favorite of mine so I made a colourful background using them…I also like using gold and silver so I have used both…and since I love giving surprises and what better than a pop up card for that…!!

The card base is plain white 4″x 7 and has a slightly smaller insert for the pop- up section…to create the simple front of the card, I first splattered some metallic gold paint and let it dry…I then die cut the word ‘wishes’ from silver foil cardstock and stamped the word ‘birthday’ on a strip of gold foil cardstock…I have also added a few pink enamel dots as embellishments..

I then started on the pop-up insert section…first I sponged in lots of Distress Inks to create the bright background…I have used the following shades – evergreen bough, twisted citron, mowed lawn, salty ocean, blueprint sketch and peacock feather…I then used a pop up die to create the pop up base and splattered some gold paint…I also stamped the sentiment on one corner using black ink…
On two separate pieces of watercolor paper,I simply covered them with twinkling H2O watercolour paint…once dry,I stamped the Hydrangea outlines using watermark ink and heat embossed them using silver embossing powder…since this is a layering stamp set,I stamped one of the layers with watermark ink again and heat embossed that with gold embossing powder…I did the same for the leaves before cutting out all these elements and adhering them onto the 3 pop up sections on the card insert….

Best Daughter In The World

I decided to use White and Gold as the theme for my card today and this is what I created…
The card base is made from gold cardstock and the top layer has been cut to size from white cardstock…to create the background on the top layer,I splattered a bit of metallic gold paint and set it aside to dry…

Then using gold foil cardstock,I die cut the damask motif….on a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped the banner and sentiment using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder…

After assembling all the elements on the card base,I was undecided whether to add embellishments or not…and finally decided not to…
Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at my card….Have lovely & blessed day ahead…!!

Wonderful Magical Birthday Wishes

Most traditional Christmas stamp sets can only be used once a year but these days there is a lot of choice and some stamp companies have such greats sets which can be used for other occasions as well…so for my card today I have re-purposed the Lawn Fawn Frosty Fairies stamp set and made a birthday card using it…

For the card base I have used a textured indigo coloured cardstock and die cut the top layer from watercolour paper using a pierced rectangle die…then using distress inks,I created a light background…I have used Shaded Lilac,Hickory Smoke and Spun Sugar Distress Inks…
I then stamped the berry branches with grey dye ink and coloured them in using Prismacolor pencils and also stamped the sentiment with Versamark watermark ink and heat embossed it using a gold embossing powder…
I stamped the fairy images on a separate piece of cardstock ,coloured them in and cut them out before placing them on the card…I have also used glossy accents on the fairy images…
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

The Golden Swans

Today’s card has been one of those cards where I have constantly changed my mind about everything on it….but thankfully in the end it worked out….
The card base is made from a printed blue cardstock and the top layer is same size as the front of the card but I have used a cloud border die at the top…this was the only way I could think of to create the clouds and not have too many layers on this card…
I then stamped the swans on the top layer using Versamark ink and heat embossed them using gold embossing powder….I have sponged in some distress inks to create the water and grass around the swans…
The sentiment has been stamped using red dye ink and I have used a few sequins in various sizes to embellish the card…

Bright Peonies Thank You Card

I know I’m not very good with paints, but that doesn’t stop me…and I keep going coz I think that’s the only way I can get a bit better…so today I’m sharing a card that I have made using Peerless watercolors….
The card base is plain pink and the top layer has been cut to size using Ranger watercolor paper….on the top layer,I stamped a few peonies using the Altenew peony scroll stamp set using Versamark ink and heat embossed them using a gold embossing powder…I then coloured in the flowers and the background using Peerless watercolors…
Once dry,I placed a thank you word die on the top layer and ran it through my Cuttlebug and carefully removed the die cut word….I used a piece of gold foil cardstock to die cut the same word and then inlaid the gold one on the top layer…
I just punched a couple of hearts from the same gold foil cardstock and used them to embellish the card…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card…Have a very blessed day today…!!

Bright Stripes Background Birthday Card

The background for this card turned out much brighter than I had planned….and that meant I had to be extremely careful while colouring in the image of the little girl so the background doesn’t overshadow the main image….well,I did my best and here’s the result….
The card base is plain pistachio green and the top layer is plain white….I decided to cut the top layer a bit smaller than usual for this card…I used a stencil and distress inks to print the background and then placed the coloured in image on it…
On a banner,I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using gold embossing powder…I also cut a thin strip as well as a border using gold foil cardstock and adhered them on the top layer…,to embellish the card I used red and orange sequins…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card…Have a blessed day today…!!

Birthday Pansies Card

Winters are officially ending in Australia today so Spring starts tomorrow…yaaayyy…..what’s not to like in spring….longer days, lovely weather, lots of flowers everywhere, icecreams, the beach….
For today’s card I have used vellum paper and gold embossing powder for the pansy flower and leaves from the Summer Flowers stamp set and I just loved the results….
I used a plain black card base and a very light blue top layer, which I have die cut using the stitched rectangle die…Using Versamark ink I stamped the pansy and leaf stamp repeatedly on a sheet of vellum paper and heat embossed them using gold heat embossing powder…
Before cutting out the flowers and leaves,I coloured them in using my Spectrum Noir markers…I reversed the flowers and leaves and coloured on the back side instead of the front as the markers might spoil the heat embossing…
I stamped the sentiment using white pigment ink on a black strip of cardstock and placed it on the top layer and placed the flowers below it and just one flower above…I have also used a few purple sequins to embellish the card…
