Just For You

I’m sharing a clean and simple card today….usually I get stressed out with these kind of cards as I end up with the clean area of my card left ‘not so clean’…but I was quite happy this one stayed clean or else I would have had to go all out with embellishments like I usually do…ha ha..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I started by stamping the images on watercolour cardstock using some Versafine black ink and then heat embossing them with a clear embossing powder…I then used Zig clean colour markers and a water brush to colour in these images…the clear embossing helped as it stopped the colour bleeding out of the lines and stay contained inside the images…

Once dry, I adhered this panel to a plain white card base and added a stamped sentiment label with some adhesive foam…and finally, to embellish my card I have added some Nuvo jewel drops…

Many Thanks

I had started today’s card with an intention to create a bit of depth on my stamped panel simply by adding 2nd generation stamping as I have seen Jennifer McGuire do in many of her cards and tutorials…but as you can see, it didn’t work out for me…but I still did manage to create a lovely card in the end…

I stamped the flowers and leaves on a plain white front panel using various pink, purple and green shades of Altenew crisp dye inks…for those who don’t know what 2nd generation stamping is – simply put, it is when you stamp again immediately after you have stamped…since you don’t reink the stamp, you get a lighter version of the image…this way you are able to add depth and/or dimension to your images without using too many shades of inks…

I stamped the large sentiment using black ink and then adhered this panel to a plain white card base….
then on a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped a few extra leaves and flowers using the same shade of inks and cut them out and placed them just below the sentiment…I  did use some adhesive foam underneath them to add the much needed dimension…

To embellish my card I have added a lot of pink and purple shiny jewels in various sizes…

Warm Wishes – Time Out Challenge #112

The theme for challenge #112 at Time Out Challenges is ‘warm’…and I think viewing the NYE fireworks to ring in the new year gives us a nice warm and happy feeling…and a hope of great things in the coming year…we have always gone out to view the fireworks and this last time we took the dog along too…he didn’t care about the fireworks but loved being with us..!!

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
So I have created this warm wishes fireworks card for the ‘warm’ theme of the challenge…
I started by applying some Distress Inks on a white watercolour cardstock panel to create the night sky…I have used squeezed lemonade, stormy sky, chipped sapphire, weathered wood and black soot shades here…
Next, I started stamping the fireworks stamps – just a few at a time – with watermark ink and heat embossed the images using various shades of metallic embossing powders like gold, silver, platinum, copper, etc…I die cut this panel to size using a stitched rectangle die and adhered it to a plain white card base..

On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped and coloured in the little penguin and cut it out…I stamped the sentiment on a white banner and added a gold foil banner layer behind it before adhering it to the card using adhesive foam squares…I adhered the penguin on and above the sentiment label…and to embellish my card I have used various confetti and star sequins…

Alcohol Ink Background Card

I seem to get carried away while playing with Alcohol inks and keep forgetting not to cover the whole panel with the ink so there is some blank space on the panel…it was very hard to come up with a design for this background so I decided to keep it simple and just added a large gold die cut and and a heat embossed sentiment…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

For the front panel I have cut Yupo paper to size and added the alcohol inks and a gold mixative as well….once dry, I used a large cross stitch rectangle die to add the detail and adhered it to a plain white card base…

I then die cut the large medallion from gold foil card stock and twice from white cardstock and layered them before adhering to the card front…I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using gold embossing powder and then layered it with a strip of red cardstock before adhering it on top of the medallion…

And last but not the least, I have added a few jewels in various sizes to embellish my card…

Fairy Birthday Wishes For Scrapbook Boutique June Challenge

This month’s challenge moodboard at Scrapbook Boutique is all about spots and dots…I was interested in creating something really colourful but I didn’t get good results so I pulled out my polka dot turn about stamp and created the black and white dotty background for my card….

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

This is the moodboard for this month’s challenge and as you can see, I chose to incorporate the black and white polka dot and the mushrooms on my card…
Once my dotty background was ready and adhered to a plain white card base, I stamped the fairy and mushroom images onto a piece of white cardstock and coloured them in…I cut them out and placed them on the card front…

For the sentiment,I die cut a picture fame from silver glitter cardstock as well as white cardstock and layered them…I stamped the sentiment on a white panel and added it to the inside of this frame…I also added a tiny die cut red bow to this frame…
To embellish my card, I have added some silver confetti sequins and then some blue coloured pears on them…

Big Hugs – Pivot Pop Up Card

Interactive cards take more time to create, but the results are almost always definitely worth the effort..I wanted to try making a pivot pop up card but make it simple rather than adding too many elements to it and make it over the top time consuming kind…well, it can be done….and here’s is my card..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Firstly, I ink blended the front panel as well as the inside of the card base using Distress Oxide inks…I have used squeezed lemonade, spiced marmalade, candied apple and black soot shades here…I also splattered a lot of water on both these blended backgrounds…
I started with the front panel by adding the stitched trails on it and then added a die cut oval frame…I adhered a hilly edge at the base of this oval for the elephant to stand on and then adhered this frame to the panel…I added the large scripty stamped and die cut sentiment below it…I adhered a couple of clouds as well and embellished this panel with tiny star sequins before adhering it to the card base..

Next, I die cut the pivot pop up mechanism and adhered it to the inside of my card…the base of this mechanism is die cut from white cardstock and the yellow pop up panel from Lawn Fawn really rainbow paper pack…I also added a the hilly edge at the base for all the animals to sit on..

On a separate piece of white card stock, I stamped and coloured in all the images I required for my card…I then cut them out by hand and placed them on my card…I added some die cut trees at the base and a party banner at the top..I also added a party hat for each of the animals…finally, I stamped the sentiments and a couple of hashtag stamps and the inside of my card was ready as well…

New Home Congrats Card

So this is what I do when I get an idea for a card using a particular stamp set but I can’t get enough time to get started on that card immediately…I scribble the idea onto a small sticky note or a piece of paper and slip it inside the stamp packaging so that the next time I pull that stamp set out, I already have at least one idea for using it…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

This is a simple card made with masking and repeat stamping images to create the background…keeping just one image from the Jane’s Doodles home sweet home stamp set as the main focus, I stamped and coloured it first and masked it and then started stamping all the images around it…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I added a patterned black and white paper strip at the base of the front panel and adhered it to the card base..I die cut the word ‘congrats’ from red glitter cardstock as well as twice from black cardstock and layered them before adhering it to the card front…I also adhered three die cut hearts on the printed panel and my card was ready..

G’Day Mate

As I was making the background for this card, I wasn’t sure it would work with the images and my layout…but once I die cut the front panel and added a green dotty paper behind it, it all seemed to work somehow…and I’m still shaking my head as I have no idea what exactly made things work here…!!

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by printing random triangles on a piece of white cardstock using the triangle stencil and Distress Inks…I have used scattered straw, tumbles glass and shaded lilac here..I then die cut this panel using a stitched rectangle die and also embossed one smaller stitched rectangle border on this panel…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

On a piece of Bristol cardstock, I stamped the Kangaroo, Kookaburra, tree and grass images and coloured them in with Zig markers and a water brush and once dry, I die cut these images and adhered them to the white front panel…
I adhered the green and white polka dot patterned paper on a white card base and then added the white panel on top…I stamped the sentiment on a speech bubble and adhered it to the card front so it seems that the Kangaroo is saying hello to the Kookaburra…

To embellish my card I have used clear sequins and applied some Nuvo glaze to the two Aussie animals..

Updated Post – Altenew June Inspiration Challenge

Hello…I’m sharing a new picture of my card that I had shared earlier….I wasn’t able to get a better picture that day, so I tried again….and the colours in today’s picture turned out much closer to the actual colours on my card..
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

-Original Post-

I have tried so hard to click a better picture of my card so I could share the actual colour of the Ranunculus flower on my card, but it keeps showing as a yellowish colour when in fact it’s a green colour quite similar to the one in the inspiration photo….

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
This is the inspiration photo and colours provided for the June Challenge…I haves used the three colours provided but gave them a bit of a twist by using green as the flower colour, the grey as the leaves and the rose pink/lavender colour for the background…
I started by creating the front panel of my card…I applied rose red and blush rose Peerless watercolours to a watercolour piece of cardstock and set it aside to dry…once dry I added some splatters of the same colours and then adhered this panel to a plain white card base…
On a separate piece of watercolour cardstock, I stamped the flower and leaves with watermark ink and heat embossed them with a white embossing powder…I then used a couple of Altenew crisp inks and a water brush to colour in these images…I have used bamboo for the flower and silver stone for the leaves…once dry, I die cut these images and adhered them to my card…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
Then I die cut the word ‘you’ three times from black cardstock using the Altenew fine alphabet dies…I layered the die cuts and added them to my card just above the embossed sentiment strip which completes the sentiment for my card…
To embellish my card I have added some black Nuvo drops and applied some shimmer using my Spectrum Noir shimmer pen…
