Atlenew Decoupage Flowers – A Card & A Tag

I have been planning to try out the decoupage technique for a very long time and have finally been able to create something…I have seen a lot of cardmakers create beautiful cards and share tutorials for this technique but the one video that I found the most helpful was the one by Yana Smakula…and although she used wood block stamps and coordinating layering dies for her tutorial, you get the idea of how exactly it is done…here is the link to her full post if you’d like to check it out – 3D Decoupage Technique by Yana Smakula

I made a card using Altenew Dahlia Blossoms stamp set and halftone stencil as well as a tag using the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set…and even in the pictures you can see that the flowers give a dimensional look…

For the card I chose a dark coloured card base and die cut the top layer using white cardstock and a pierced rectangle die….I then used the hafltone stencil and broken china Distress Oxide ink to print the pattern lightly onto the top layer, making sure not to cover the whole panel…

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and coloured each of the flower images twice using Peerless watercolour..I also stamped and coloured in a few leaves….once dry,I cut out the leaves and one each of the flowers…then to create the decoupage layer,I cut out the inner layer of the second flower and adhered it to the main flower using foam squares…

I adhered the leaves and the dimensional flowers to the card front, added the sentiment on a small panel and adhered some rhinestones to embellish my card…and finally,I added a bit of shimmer by using my Spectrum Noir sparkle marker…

Here is a close-up shot of the flowers…

So while I was practicing this technique,i decided to make a tag as well…this time using the Altenew Beautiful day peony flower outline stamp…
First I die-cut the tag using watercolour cardstock and painted a few lines in various colours…then I stamped the flower leaf images on a separate piece of cardstock and coloured them in using Peerless watercolours as well…once dry,I cut out the two of the flowers as is and one flower’s inner layer…
I placed the darker coloured flower and the leaves at the bottom of the tag and then placed another flower above them…and finally I used foam squares to adhere the inner layer on this flower…
I added the sentiment, some pink sequins and a pink ribbon and my tag was ready…

Champagne Bottle Tag

Today I’m sharing a champagne bottle tag….I wanted something festive for the holiday season and yet nothing over the top as a great bottle of bubbly hardly needs to be ‘dressed up’…
I started by cutting the tag base to size and then scored it at 2″ from the top…I die cut the bottom section using a border die and also die cut out a circle from the top section…this will be slipped through the neck of the bottle to hold the tag…and just so this section doesn’t tear easily,I added a stitched circle frame from gold cardstock to strengthen it…
I cut a white piece of cardstock slightly smaller than the tag base and die cut one end with the same border die and adhered it to the tag…I placed a chevron print die cut label on the tag and cut out a red tree from a Christmas printed cardstock and placed it on the label..
The sentiment has been stamped on a small gold label and I adhered a bit of gold string under the label before adhering it to the label…
Thank you for stopping by today….Have lovely & blessed day ahead…!!

Christmas Large Tag

A beautiful tag on a Christmas present always adds to the excitement….my younger daughter loves getting presents in big boxes…and a big present needs a large tag…so today I’m sharing the very first tag I have made for Christmas this year…and it’s a large one..
The tag base has been die cut using watercolour cardstock and the largest tag die from the MFT die-namics traditional tags stax…I sponged in some distress inks for the background and sprinkled some water for effect…and once dry,I stamped the Christmas tree and snowflakes on the tag…
Using silver foil cardstock and two of the largest tag dies I created a frame for my tag…I also embossed it using the Swiss Dots embossing folder and adhered it to the tag…I embellished the tree using Nuvo crystal drops and the snowflakes using tiny blue rhinestones…
The sentiment was stamped on a separate piece of cardstock…I cut it out and used some foam tape to adhere it to the tag….and finally I added a silver ribbon to complete the tag…
Thank you so much for taking the time and visiting my blog today…Have a wonderful day ahead…!!

Cre8tive Hands Friends Blog Challenge – Gift Tag

I haven’t used digi images for my cards before – only stamps, so it is taking a little bit of time getting used to them and coming up with ideas for them…but it’s very very exciting to try something new…
The best part is that the size of the images can be increased or decreased to suit your project and not the other way around….and that is exactly what I did for today’s project that I have made for the latest Cre8tive Hands Friends Blog Challenge….
I’m sharing a tag today….the white cardstock base of the tag has been die cut using the largest Labels Eight Spellbinders die and I have used a stencil and distress inks to create the background for it…at the top I have used two circle punches to create the circles to fit around the hole of the tag…this also prevents the ribbon from ripping the paper….
I have printed out the digi and die cut it using a much smaller one of the Labels Eight die and the coloured it in using markers and distress inks…I have used adhesive foam underneath the digi before placing it on the tag to give it a bit of a dimension…Finally I have stamped the sentiment above the digi….

There is also a Facebook Challenge group called Cre8tive Hands Fans where we have bi-weekly challenges as well….The digi is provided free and there is an awesome prize for the winner…

Today I’m sharing a very colourful Champagne bottle gift tag…Champagne is still one of the best congratulatory gift that you can give someone and it suits most celebratory occasions as well…..

The base of the tag is plain green and has been scored at 2″ and I have used a 1&1/2” circle die to create a hole that slides over the bottle’s neck….the other end of the tag has been given a crest shape using the WRMK banner punch board…

The top layer is a panel of beautiful and bright printed glitter cardstock…..and the sentiment is stamped on a cut out from the same cardstock pack….and layered with a green and a gold cardstock layer…there are a couple of small punched gold flower embellishments…and three printed banners as well….

Hope you liked it…

Today I’m sharing a Christmas tag with a small shaker element…..I think that gives the tag a bit of a festive feel….
I started by die cutting the base of the tag using labels eight nesting dies from spellbinders….I then die cut about 6 small circle frames from white cardstock and stuck them one on top of another near the base of the tag….then put in a few sequins and sealed it using an acetate circle…and finally die cut another frame in blue and glued it on top….
Once the shaker section was ready I quickly attached the stamped sentiment and a few sequins and pearls …I glued a 3/4″ red circle and a 1/2″ white one near the top of the tag and and punched a hole for the ribbon…
Hope you liked this tag…

I knew I was definitely going to make a few bottle tags for Christmas this year…here’s the first one I made…I decided to use a printed sentiment that came with my Christmas cardstock pack instead of stamping…so the making this tag was a much faster process than usual…
The base is made from plain green card stock which has been given a flag shape at the base using the WRMK banner punch board….I then added a light green layer…and on top of that I added 3 strips of printed paper and punched both sides of each one with the banner punch…
Lastly I added a printed red layer on the top…it also has gold string attached underneath…
Hope you liked this tag…

Post#123 – Washi Tape Tree on a Tag

I keep looking for craft projects that can be put together very quickly and also can be made easily by kids…..and the best place to look for ideas is Pinterest of course….
I saw a few cards with washi tape christmas trees and absolutely loved the idea…So I decided to try it out on a tag…the tree turned out quite nice….and I put on a few rhinestones on it as well as a Christmas twine instead of a ribbon…
I’m sure my kids are going to love making Christmas cards/tags with washi tape…
Hope you liked this tag…

Post#113 Love Heart Theme – Lots Of Hearts Tag

This is one of the simplest thing I have made for this theme but I quite like it….
Firstly I stamped in the middle of the tag with a large heart stamp and the embossed it with clear embossing powder….then I stamped small hearts in various colours all over the tag….
To finish the tag I added two bright ribbons…
It’s quite simple but I still hope you liked it…
