Ornamental Flowers For Altenew May Inspiration Challenge

I have had so much fun creating this card for the Altenew May 2018 Inspiration Challenge…I got very inspired by the three colours for the challenge and wanted to create a dark background for the gold embossed flowers and leaves…swapping the colours for the leaf and flowers was a very last minute idea and I think it works…what do you think..??

Here is the image and colours provided for this challenge by Laura Bassen

To begin, I covered a watercolour cardstock front panel with Turquiose green watercolour (Gansai Tambi no. 57)…I used the textured side this time and splattered the same colour on the panel once it was dry…
On a piece of white cardstock, I stamped the flower base in ocean waves Altenew dye ink and the leaves in pinkalicious dye ink…I then stamped the next layer with watermark ink and heat embossed it using rose gold embossing powder…the MISTI came in quite handy as I was able to repeat these steps quite easily…

Next, I die cut the flowers and the leaves using the coordinating dies and adhered them to the watercoloured front panel…I cut off the excess from all sides and adhered this panel to a plain white card base…
Since I didnt’t want to add another colour to my card, I used a solid stamp and pinkalicious dye ink to create the pink panel on which I heat embossed the sentiment…I adhered this sentiment label on the card front using some adhesive foam and then added a few gold confetti sequins to embellish my card..

Hello There

Hello friends…hope you’ve all had a wonderful time over the holidays and have had a great start to 2018…hope this year brings you lots of happiness and memorable times…I have not been able to craft much at all since Christmas so it will take me a bit longer than planned to post on my blog….there are a couple of challenges on a few blogs that I want to participate in so I should probably start there… 🙂

Today I’m sharing the only card I have been able to create for my blog …I started with creating a base from a textured orange cardstock and rounded all four edges of the card…I then rounded the edges of a plain black cardstock layer and adhered it to a silver foil die cut rectangle layer before placing them on the card front…

On a separate piece of watercolour cardstock I stamped the flower and leaf images using Versafine black ink and the heat embossed them all using clear embossing powder…I coloured the images using Crayola Fine Line markers and a water brush and once dry,I die cut them with the coordinating dies…

Once I was happy with the placement of all the flowers and leaf,I used the Glad Press’nSeal wrap to keep everything in place while I was gluing them to the silver foil layer…I think it’s a great product for crafting…here is a video by Laurie Wilson where she uses the Press’nSeal for her card layout..

I added the sentiment stamped on a strip of orange cardstock and placed it just above the flowers and to embellish my card I have used some Nuvo jewel drops..

So happy you stopped by my blog today…hopefully I will have some more projects to share with you soon…Have a happy and crafty day ahead..!!

Santa And His Reindeers – 3 Cards

It’s the 23rd of December…my girls used to call it Christmas Eve Eve when they were little…ha ha…I think right now all they want to do is open up their prezzies ASAP…(don’t we all!!)…the cards I’m sharing today have been made using the WPlus9 Santa’s Reindeer stamp and die set…this set was released last year but I wasn’t able to get it then…but I knew I was getting it for this year’s cards for sure..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
For my first card I die cut the front panel from white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die and then die cut two windows on it using dies from the Lawn Fawn Shadow Box die set…these dies give a stitched detail on the outside of the die cut section…
On the rectangle shaped window I added a panel on which I had sponged in some salty ocean Distress ink and then used the Avery Elle snowfall background die…I adhered this panel to a white card base and then added the coloured in and die cut Santa,Chimney and Reindeer images…
I stamped the ‘Merry Xmas’ sentiment using red ink inside the oval window and adhered some tiny red sequins to embellish my card..

I tried to create a night sky scene for the background of my second card using Distress Oxide inks…I have used the shades fossilized amber, salty ocean, wilted violet and black soot and then splattered some water as well as white gold watercolour on it…once dry,I die cut this panel to size using  a dotted rectangle die…

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder and then adhered it to a white card base…and finally I adhered the watercoloured and die cut images on my card…and finally to embellish it I have used silver star sequins…

Now my third card went exactly to plan so I was really happy….I die cut a panel from white cardstock using one of the Kat’s Scrappiness Postage Stamp Edge dies…I then sponged in some salty ocean and squeezed lemonade Distress Inks and sprayed quite a lot of water on top…
Once dry,I adhered this panel onto a deep red cardstock card base and then added all the die cut images to it…I have used some sparling clear eqions in various sizes to embellish my card…

From Our House To Yours

Today I am sharing two cards that I have made using the Avery Elle Chalet stamp set…I got this set last year and really liked it so I got the matching dies last month to make things a bit easier instead of fussy cutting the images as there are a lot of small images on the set which take up too much time to cut by hand…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I spent a lot of time to create the background of my first card…I first applied some Distress inks with a wet paint brush onto the watercolour cardstock panel and layering it by heat setting the colour every now and then…since I wanted a shimmery/glowy winter night sky look,I painted some silver watercolour as the top layer…
Once the top layer was dry,I stamped and white heat embossed a starry background…I die cut the excess using a dotted rectangle die and adhered the top layer to a plain white card base…

I stamped, coloured in and die cut the house, tree and the lamp post and adhered it to the card front…I have used red Nuvo drops to decorate the tree and adhered silver star sequins to embellish my card..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

For my second card I kept things simple and simply used Distress Inks to create the background…I have used seedless preserves, wilted violet, scattered straw and ground espresso ink shades here…and instead of die cutting this panel,I embossed it with a die and then adhered it to a plain white card base…

I then added the coloured in house, tree and lamp post to the card front and then die cut the Merry Christmas sentiment from purple foil cardstock and layered it with purple foam before adding it to the card front..I also added a stamped sentiment underneath on a white strip of cardstock..

To embellish my card,I die cut stars from purple foil cardstock and added some Nuvo drops on the tree and glossy accents as well..

Miss You

Well it’s actually spring here in Australia and the days are getting quite warm now as summer is approaching fast…but I’ve been looking at a lot of blog posts and quite a few of them have an autumn theme going…I got inspired by that and created this card…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by cutting out the front panel from watercolour cardstock and stamped the leaf images using watermark ink…I heat embossed these images using a copper embossing powder and then covered the panel with dried marigold Distress ink…I then splattered some water as well as some lucky clover Distress ink mixed with some water…

I painted the inside of the leaves with some gold paint and once dry,I adhered this panel to a plain white card front…

On a separate piece of watercolour cardstock,I used some Gansai Tambi blue watercolour and covered the panel with it…I then dabbed a scrunched up tissue to create the clouds(turned out better than my last time)…I cut this to size for the back of my white polaroid frame…

I stamped and coloured in the Gorjuss Mini girl and cut her out before placing on the polaroid…I stamped the sentiment  and adhered a small red heart next to then added this polaroid to the card front using some adhesive foam underneath..

Peace Begins With A Smile

The moodboard for the November Challenge at Scrapbook Boutique was quite inspiring…at first I wanted to make Christmas cards using the moodboard’s red and white theme but then other ideas popped up in my head and I went with that instead and have made two cards as my entry for this challenge..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
This is the moodboard for the challenge…and if you live in Australia or New Zealand, you can participate in this challenge…the Scrapbook Boutique blog has monthly challenges which I love to participate in…
For my first card,I first created the elements for the front panel using the Altenew Build-a-flower Rose set…I only stamped one layer of the rose using candied apple Distress Oxide ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder before die cutting it..I did the same with the little flower bunch…
I stamped one layer of the leaf stamp with Versamark ink and heat embossed that with white embossing powder and die cut it with the coordinating die…I die cut another piece for layering..I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on a thin white strip…
Now that all the elements were ready,I cut a white front panel and splattered some red watercolour on it and let it dry before adhering it to a textured red card base…
I added  all the elements to the card front and used craft foam under a few die cuts and the sentiment label for dimension..and finally I used some red Nuvo drops to embellish my card…

I am also entering this card in The Flower Challenge #14 where the theme for this month is CAS

For my second card,I die cut a red front panel using the large stitched rectangle die and adhered it to a white card base…then on a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the plaid background using candied apple Distress Oxide ink and die cut a smaller panel to layer above the red panel…
I then die cut three fringe scallop borders from white cardstock and adhered them to the smaller panel…I die cut the word ‘smile from white cardstock as well and layered it with red craft foam die cut before adhering it near the base of this panel…I stamped the rest of the sentiment on a white label and layered that with red craft foam as well before placing it under the large word…
Red Nuvo drops were the perfect embellishments for this card and I just added three of them to finish my card..

Sympathy Card – Time Out Challenge #95

I have made a sympathy card for the latest challenge at Time Out Challenges….there was an optional twist of distressing but I decided not to incorporate that for my card…the main flower image of my card is from Mama Elephant Freesias stamp set…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I die cut the front panel from watercolour cardstock using cross stitched rectangle die and then stamped the flower image using Versamark ink…I heat embossed this with some white embossing powder and masked it with a hand cut paper mask…
I then dabbed some weathered wood Distress Ink on an acrylic block and mixed it with a lot of water and quickly did a kind of a wash all over…I also used the same ink mixed with less water and splattered it over the panel…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I then removed the mask and coloured in the image using Gansai Tambi watercolors…once dry,I stamped the sentiment using Versafine onyx black ink and adhered the front panel to a plain white card base…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
Instead of adding embellishments to my card,I first used my sparkle marker over the image and then added some glossy accents for a bit of shine and dimension without going over the top..

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at my card today…Hope you will have a happy and blessed day today…!!

Bloom Where You Are Planted

I used to paint stripy backgrounds for my cards myself….and a lot of the times I had to paint all over or even bin them coz the lines would be way more wonky than acceptable…ha ha…so when Altenew released this watercolor stripes stencil,I was so happy coz the background for the card I’m sharing today would’ve been unpredictable otherwise… 😊😀

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by cutting white cardstock to size for the front panel of my card and then used the stencil and Distress Inks to create the background..I used the following shades – wilted violet, carved pumpkin, twisted citron and hickory smoke…I also splattered a bit of water and quickly dabbed it with a paper towel…

Once dry,I stamped the sentiment using black ink and then adhered this panel to a white card base…

On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped and coloured in the cactus and pots from a Honey Bee Stamp set called Stick with me using Gansai Tambi watercolours…once dry,I cut them out and adhered them to the card front with some adhesive foam…

To embellish my card I have simply added some black Nuvo drops…

Two Cards With Purple Flowers In Focus

For both my cards today, I coloured the focal flower images using the colour purple…..they may look pretty similar but I have used different techniques to create them…

For my first card I chose a plain white card base and die cut the top layer from white cardstock as well using a large dotted rectangle die..

Next,I stamped the leaf images from the Altenew Peony Scroll stamp set using watermark ink and heat embossed it using silver embossing powder..
Then on a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the flowers and a few more leaves and heat embossed them using silver embossing powder as well…I coloured these images using Gansai Tambi watercolours and cut them out once dry and placed them onto the card front…
I stamped the sentiment on a strip of white cardstock ad cut it out and placed it on the card as well..
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
My second card is different from the first one in a way that I have not used any embossing in this one and used grey dye ink to create the background instead….
The card base is a light lavender colour and the top layer has been die cut from white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die on which I stamped the flower images to create the background…I die cut a label and stamped the sentiment and placed it on the card using some craft foam behind it..
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped a few of the flower images using black ink and coloured then in using Spectrum Noir markers…I added one flower behind the label and another above it for a bit of dimension…
Finally I added a few black Nuvo drops and my card was ready…here’s a closer look of this card..
