You Make Me Happy – Two Cards

The two cards I’m sharing today have the same message and a warm colour scheme, but I have tried my best to make them as different from each other as I could…the first one is a shaker card with a stencilled background and the second one has a few rows of string lights as the main focus..

I started by creating the background for my shaker card….I have used the Bohemian Bazaar stencil with Distress Oxide inks to print the pattern on a glossy photo paper(Kodak brand)…the oxide inks were slightly rubbing off when touched so I guess it was a good decision to use this panel for a shaker card…I have used squeezed lemonade, wild honey and carved pumpkin ink shades here..I also glued some metallic orange sequins to this panel before adhering it to the card base…
I then die cut a rectangle frame from orange cardstock and added some acetate behind it…I created the well for the shaker using craft foam and added the sequins and attached it to the card base..since the photo paper was glossy, the sequins moved quite well inside the shaker..

I adhered the die cut word ‘happy’ and the stamped sentiment strip on the front of my card and added a cute stamped image of a little girl as well and my card was ready…

For my second card,I stamped the string lights using Versafine black onyx ink and heat embossed them using clear embossing powder before colouring them in using watercolours…I then sponged the edges with fossilised amber Oxide ink and stamped the sentiment using vintage photo Oxide ink…

I stamped a pinwheel just above the sentiment and coloured it in before adhering this panel onto a plain white card base…to embellish my card I have added a few gold Nuvo drops as well as a bit of shimmer on the pinwheel..

Hugs & Kisses Card

I have seen a lot of card makers add white die cuts on a a white base and wanted to give that a try today….I even surprised myself with my own patience with this project and the neatness of end result…. čÖé
The card base is a plain blue and the mat layer is a stripy dark pink and white printed paper…the top layer is plain white and I have die cut the words ‘hugs & kisses’ twice using the same white cardstock and placed them carefully on the top layer…
I then die cut the XOXO using a very bright red cardstock and placed it near the base of the top layer…and placed a coloured in and cut out image of a little girl and a small dog next to it as well as a little birdie perched above one of the O…

Thinking About You Card

There is such a huge range of embellishments available these days for all sort of paper crafts….I don’t use too many different types of embellishments but a few years ago I had bought these flower die cut by Kaisercraft and added them mostly to my scrapbooks pages but decided to use them in a card today…
The card base is a light olive green and the top layer is plain cream colour…I ┬árounded all four corners of the base and the top layer…I then die cut a polaroid frame and created a background for it and added the little girl image on it…
Before placing the polaroid frame onto the card,I placed three flower die cut shapes behind it…I stamped the sentiment on the top layer with red dye ink and adhered a few red rhinestones to decorate the card…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card today…Happy crafting..!!

May You Be Protected Card

I love the effect of coloured inks on Kraft cardstock….although I have learnt that not all colours work well on it but the ones that do work, look absolutely fabulous….
On a Kraft cardstock card base I have used a green mat layer and a Kraft top layer….I have rounded two opposite sides of all the layers with a corner rounder punch….on the top layer,I stamped a fern leaf stamp repeatedly with green dye ink…
On a smaller piece of Kraft cardtstock,I stamped the sentiment with dark brown ink and added a green layer underneath….I rounded two corners of these as well before placing on the card….I have used clear sequins to decorate the card….
Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…

Bright,Fun And Colourful Birthday Card

I enjoy making bright and colourful cards…and I think bright cards catch the attention of most people – especially kids – almost immediately…so not only are they exciting for me when I’m making them, but it’s great to see the instant reaction of the person receiving it….
I started with a bright yellow card base…then to create the top layer background,I have used distress inks on watercolour cardstock and then lightly misted the Roses embossing folder and pressed it on the inked paper….I don’t own background stamps so I love using embossing folders instead…
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and used gold embossing powder to heat emboss it…then I die cut three borders in different colours from the stitched hillside dies and layered them…I placed two cut out and coloured in images of a boy and girl(In My heart-Mama Elephant Stamps)on the ┬álayered border…
To finish the card,I die cut a few hearts from gold cardstock and adhered them randomly..

Cutie Wishes Happy Birthday Card

Here’s another bright and colourful birthday card from me….Distress inks are the hero of this card as well…
The card base is plain white…the top layer has been created using distress inks and masking technique…this created four colour blocks/sections on the the top layer…
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder…then,on a separate piece of paper I also stamped, coloured in and cut out the little girl image and placed it above the sentiment…
To decorate the card,I have die cut stars from gold cardstock using the Mama Elephant Confetti die and placed them randomly on card…
