Scrapbook Boutique June Challenge – Black & Gold

The card I’m sharing today is my entry for the Scrapbook Boutique June challenge…and the theme of this month’s moodboard is ‘Gold Is The New Black’…and as you can see my card is just gold and black….I think I spent more time trying to click a good enough picture of this card rather than creating it..!! 🙂

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started with a gold cardstock for the card base and a black top layer slightly smaller than the card front…I then splattered the top layer with gold paint and once dry embossed it with Heidi Swapp wanderlust embossing folder… this embossing folder has thick stripes on it which look great and also helped me place the alphabet die cuts on the card properly which was a bonus…

Using gold foil cardstock,I die cut three different sized Polaroid frames and chose a black cardstock for the center…I stamped a few different flowers on these using watermark ink and heat embossed the images using gold embossing powder…

For the sentiment I first stamped a stripy border on a piece of gold cardstock(same as card base) using watermark ink and then heat embossed it using gold embossing powder….I die cut the alphabets from this and layered them with craft foam before adhering them to the card as well as the Polaroid frames…

To embellish my card I have simply added a few black Nuvo drops on the Polaroid frames…Here is a close up shot of my card…hope you can see the gold heat embossing on the alphabet dies a bit better in this picture…

Pop-up Hydrangeas – Birthday Card For Me

I have chosen a few of my favorite things to create a card that I’m sharing with you on my birthday today….other than Carnations,Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers so I chose the Altenew Garden Hydrangeas stamp set for today’s card…

Distress inks are another favorite of mine so I made a colourful background using them…I also like using gold and silver so I have used both…and since I love giving surprises and what better than a pop up card for that…!!

The card base is plain white 4″x 7 and has a slightly smaller insert for the pop- up section…to create the simple front of the card, I first splattered some metallic gold paint and let it dry…I then die cut the word ‘wishes’ from silver foil cardstock and stamped the word ‘birthday’ on a strip of gold foil cardstock…I have also added a few pink enamel dots as embellishments..

I then started on the pop-up insert section…first I sponged in lots of Distress Inks to create the bright background…I have used the following shades – evergreen bough, twisted citron, mowed lawn, salty ocean, blueprint sketch and peacock feather…I then used a pop up die to create the pop up base and splattered some gold paint…I also stamped the sentiment on one corner using black ink…
On two separate pieces of watercolor paper,I simply covered them with twinkling H2O watercolour paint…once dry,I stamped the Hydrangea outlines using watermark ink and heat embossed them using silver embossing powder…since this is a layering stamp set,I stamped one of the layers with watermark ink again and heat embossed that with gold embossing powder…I did the same for the leaves before cutting out all these elements and adhering them onto the 3 pop up sections on the card insert….

Best Daughter In The World

I decided to use White and Gold as the theme for my card today and this is what I created…
The card base is made from gold cardstock and the top layer has been cut to size from white cardstock…to create the background on the top layer,I splattered a bit of metallic gold paint and set it aside to dry…

Then using gold foil cardstock,I die cut the damask motif….on a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped the banner and sentiment using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder…

After assembling all the elements on the card base,I was undecided whether to add embellishments or not…and finally decided not to…
Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at my card….Have lovely & blessed day ahead…!!

Make A Wish – Ombre Watercolour Background

I saw this technique to create ombre watercolour background in December last year…most of you who follow Kristina Werner would remember the fabulous set of cards she made on Day 25 of her Holiday Card Series….and it has taken me this long to try it out…she has an excellent tutorial with her post and I was so happy with my results that I made two different ombre backgrounds but chose this  bright one to make a card with first…
I chose a white card base and followed Kristina’s tutorial to create the ombre background on watercolor paper…and the watercolors I have used are Peerless watercolors….once the paint was dry,I splattered some metallic gold  paint on it….I love the shine from the gold paint…and finally I ran the top layer through my cuttlebug to emboss it…
I die cut the words ‘make a wish’ and a few stars using gold foil cardstock and placed them onto the card…
The little fairy has been stamped, coloured in,cut out and covered with a bit of glossy accents before being placed on the card as well…
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today…Happy crafting…!!
