Happy Bird Day – Paper Smooches March Challenge

I usually try and stay away from sketch challenges mainly because I find them a bit hard to create for…and I end up mostly confused whether the sketch has to be followed as is or we can change a few things around…and as you can see, even in today’s challenge my card has a portrait orientation instead of the landscape one in the sketch…my card wasn’t looking good that way so I took the risk..!!

Here is the sketch for the March Challenge over at the Paper Smooches blog

I first die cut one end of a wide strip of printed DSP  using a stitched edge die and then a narrower and shorter white strip….I embossed tiny circles on the background of this white strip using the cross stitch die from Paper Smooches…I randomly stamped red hearts on this strip and the sentiment as well and set these panels aside to prepare the front panel of my card…

I decided to use a plain black die cut top panel and added a thin strip of bright pink glitter cardstock on one side before adhering it to the card base…I added the printed panel first and then used some craft foam to elevate and adhere the second panel….
On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the flamingo and coloured it in before cutting it out and adhering it to my card front using a few different heights of adhesive foam squares…and finally I added a few red Nuvo drops to embellish my card..

Rainbow Of Wishes

I wanted to make a card that wasn’t occasion specific and could be sent for any happy occasion to wish a loved one….I also wanted it to be a bright and colourful card – my favorite kind of card – as I’m planning to share only Christmas cards for December from my next post onwards…

I started by cutting a white front panel to size and the using salty ocean Distress ink and the MFT mini cloud edge stencil to create a cloudy background…I then used an edge die to cut out the strips from coloured cardstock scrap pieces for the rainbow…
Once the rainbow pieces were adhered to the front panel,I die cut the word ‘Rainbow’ twice from white cardstock and layered them before adhering them onto the section where I had stamped the rest of the sentiment using black ink…I used my markers to colour every alphabet in the colours of the rainbow..

I  die cut and adhered a white frame to the front panel and then adhered it to a plain white card base…then on a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the Hippo image and cut it out and placed him on the rainbow using some adhesive foam squares…I also applied some glossy accents on the hippo image for a bit of shine..and finally I added a few clear confetti sequins to embellish my card..

Altenew Ranunculus – Love & Hugs

After using the Nuvo gold mousse for a few cards in which I tried out a paint like consistency and even thick consistency like an embossing paste,I wanted to try something ‘in-between’…so that was the idea for the background panel for this card…the main flower image is from the Altenew build-a-flower Ranunculus set…

I have two background panels for this card…there is a black panel on which I have embossed repeatedly with stitched border edge die and then I have a smaller kraft cardstock panel on which I  first die cut with a scalloped edge die and then used the grid stencil and Nuvo mousse to create this slightly textured look…I layered these two panels and adhered them to a Kraft cardstock card base…
I stamped the two flowers and leaves on a separate piece of white cardstock using the Altenew crisp die inks…for the first flower I used cotton candy, purple wine and puffy heart shades and for the second one I used peach perfect, coral berry and cosmic berry inks…I die cut them and adhered them to the card front…

I gold heat embossed the sentiment on a black rectangular label and layered it with a slightly larger red layer and adhered it to the card front…I have used a piece of back craft foam underneath for a bit of dimension…
To embellish my card I have applied just a few Nuvo gold drops…
I’m super glad you stopped by to take a look at my card today….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

My Entry For MFT Sketch Challenge – Sketch 342

The card I am sharing today has been created using a sketch given out at the MFT Card Challlenges Blog…It’s my first time entering a sketch challenge and I took part only because the idea for this card formed as soon as I saw the sketch…

This is the sketch for this week’s challenge…

I chose a white card base and a white front panel for my card and started by stamping the sloth image on the front panel…I masked one end of the branch as I wanted it a bit longer and hand drew the rest of it using a black Copic fineliner pen….I coloured in the image using Spectrum Noir markers…

Then using brown glitter cardstock and the stitched edge die I die cut one layer and then used Vellum paper and scalloped edge die  for the top layer…I stamped and clear embossed the sentiment on this vellum layer before adhering both of them onto the front panel of my card…instead of finding a way to adhere the Vellum to the front panel,I simply cut it a bit longer and folded it in from the top and sides and adhered those flaps at the back of the panel…
I wanted to keep my design simple so I die cut a few sequins from gold cardstock and used them as embellishments on my card..

Believe In Magic

I used Prismacolor pencils for the very first time…I loved the brightness of the canary yellow in the set..I need to practice more with these but couldn’t resist creating one card for now..
The card base is plain white and the base layer is a kind of pear green shade which I have die cut using stitched rectangle die…I have heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder at the top left of this layer and added a cute little fairy(The Greeting Farm) beside it..
The top layer is plain white and I first stamped and coloured in the images and the die cut this layer using a stitched edge die..I added craft foam under this layer before adhering it to the base layer…
Finally I added some clear star sequins to embellish this card..
Thank you for visiting today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!
