Colourful Birthday Cards

The cards I’m sharing today were very quick to make using the new MFT stencil called Ray of Light with Distress/Distress Oxide inks…I have quite a few more ideas for this stencil which hopefully I will try out soon!
I used squeezed lemonade and mustard seed Oxide inks to lightly cover the background panel and then used the stencil with carved pumpkin and spiced marmalade shades….I stamped, coloured in and die cut the images from MFT Knight in shining armor stamp set and added a narrow grass border die cut from green glitter cardstock at the base of the panel ad then adhered the die cut images…I added the front panel to the card base and stamped the sentiment and added some Nuvo drops to embellish my card..

For my second card, I first lightly applied some tumbled glass Distress ink and then used the following inks with the Ray of Light stencil to create the rainbow effect – wilted violet, blueprint sketch, salty ocean, mowed lawn, mustard seed, spiced marmalade and candied apple…I stamped and coloured in the images from MFT Magical Unciorn stamp set, die cut them and applied a bit of glitter marker on them before adhering to the card front…I stamped the sentiment and adhered this panel to the card base…

I hope my colourful cards made you smile today…thank you so much for stopping by…have a happy and crafty day ahead…!!

I decided to do some stamp masking on my card front so I used my trusty misti to stamp the images on the front panel…I coloured in the images using Peerless watercolours and masked them before I used drifts & hills stencil with Distress Inks to create the hills…I have used peeled paint, mowed lawn and twisted citron shades here….I have also used blue shades of Distress Inks and cloud mini stencil to create the clouds…for the clouds I have used tumbled glass, salty ocean and blueprint sketch shades…

I adhered the front panel onto a plain white card base and then stamped the sentiment using some bright red dye ink on white cardstock…I used the fishtail sentiment die to die cut the three sections of the sentiment and adhered them onto my card using some adhesive foam strips…and finally to embellish my card I have used a few tiny red sequins…

Today’s card was made as per the rules of Event 1 – Stamping Slalom in which we had to use only MFT products and at least 3 different stamp sets…I will be submitting all my other event entries via my Instagram but will update this post with a picture of my cards for the other events…

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today…Hope you will have a great day ahead….!!

Happily Ever After – Pop Up Box Card

I wanted to make a pop up box card for a wedding or engagement…and I went straight for the MFT Knight In Shining Armor and Once Upon A Time stamp sets…these have been my all time most used stamps sets now…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by die cutting Kraft cardstock for the card base using Lawn Fawn box card pop up die and then assembled it to make the box….I die cut the panels from a wedding themed double sided printed cardstock…the best part was that I was able to use both sides here..

Once the base was ready and the panels were all adhered to the inside and outside of the box,I started to stamp and colour in all the images for my card…I then cut them out and also die cut a grassy border for the front as well as a couple of trees…

I adhered most images directly onto the inside panels and a couple of butterflies on thins acetate strips before adhering them to the panels..

Finally,I stamped the sentiment on a kraft card strip and adhered it to the front flap using adhesive foam squares and added a couple of butterflies above it as well…

Friend Worth Fighting For

Looking for some inspiration to create my next card,I landed at the My Favorite Things Card Challenges blog where I saw the latest colour challenge and was immediately inspired by the colours and created this card…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I have made so many cards, tags etc using the MFT knight in shining armor & once upon a time stamp set and these sets are definitely one of the few sets that I have used so much…isn’t it fantastic when this happens..?? 🙂
For a plain white card base,I cut out a white top layer and splattered it with various colours to create the background….I then die cut the castle wall, turret and flag from another piece of white cardstock and sponged in some weathered wood distress ink before adhering it to the card base…I used a large pierced rectangle die to cut out the extra bits off the top layer and adhered it to the card base..
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped knight on a horse as well as a knight with a sword..here I decided to do mirror stamping of the knight with a sword to create the scene so it looks like they are guarding the castle door…I coloured these images in using Spectrum Noir markers and and cut them out before adhering them to the card base…
I stamped the sentiment using black ink and adhered a few clear star sequins to embellish this card and my card was ready to be entered in the MFT Color Challenge #72
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today…Hope you will have a creative, happy and wonderful day..!!

A Shaker Card And Three Shaker Tags

I love it when I can make a whole heap of different cards from just one or a couple of stamp sets…and I have done that using these MFT Once upon a time and Knight in shining armor stamp sets…today I was making just a shaker card but then thought the images would look cute on shaker tags…so made those as well..

For the card I chose a dark pink card base and a light green textured cardstock for the top layer…I embossed the top layer using the WRMK next level embossing folder and then started to prepare my shaker section…
The base of the shaker is white but has been sponged with mowed lawn Distress Ink..I coloured in cut out and placed the princess image on this layer and die cut a rectangle frame using some craft foam then added the sequins and closed the shaker using acetate…I die cut another frame from pink glitter cardstock and adhered it above the acetate and then adhered the whole shaker to the card front…
All I had to do now was to add the sentiment…I stamped it on a small label using pink ink and placed it on the shaker…

And these are the tags that I created after making the card…I was very surprised how quickly I was able to make these …

I first die cut three tags from water colour cardstock and sponged the edges using Distress Oxide inks…I have used wilted violet, broken china and cracked pistachio here…

Next,I stamped and coloured in the images on a separate piece of white cardstock and cut them out before adhering them onto the tags…

Then using plastic pockets and my fuse tool,I created the shakers and filled them up with various star sequins and sealed the pockets…I added matching ribbons and sentiments onto these tags and they were ready…

Magical Adventure

Every time I make a card like the one I’m sharing today,I am reminded of my childhood when we used a lot of imagination rather than technology and had a grand time playing with our friends…making up stories and playacting them…we could be anything we wanted as long as we could imagine it…I do hope little kids still love  reading or listening to fairy tales and such just like we did…

I chose a light yellow card base for today’s card and a watercolour cardstock top layer cut to the same size as the card front…I then sponged in some distress inks to create the background…I have used the following shades – tea dye, iced spruce and bundled sage…I sprinkled some water on this watercolour panel and quickly dried it using my heat gun…

I then stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder…I stamped a lot of stars and heat embossed them in gold as well…

At the bottom of this panel I placed two scalloped die cut borders from white cardstock and sponged some Distress Inks on them..I have used twisted citron, mowed lawn and squeezed lemonade …I then stamped the knight, the castle and the dragon on a separate piece of cardstock, coloured them in and cut them out and placed them on the card and my card was ready…

Here is a close up view of my card…

Scrapbook Boutique March 2017 Challenge

So it’s time again for the Scrapbook Boutique monthly challenge on their blog…did I tell you,I won their February challenge…??Well,I did and am still doing my happy dance…ha ha..Thank you so much Scrapbook Boutique 🙂

Their Design Team is fantastic and I felt quite inspired by all the creations shared by them….I am really enjoying these challenges and the moodboard for this month’s challenge is a colourful one and here’s my creation inspired by it…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade Card by Pri

I chose a black card base and a black top layer as well….using some scrap coloured cardstock,I cut them into 1″ strips and then cut diagonally to make the rays…after adhering these strips onto the top layer I ran it through my Cuttlebug using the pierced rectangle die..I think it’s the easiest way to neatly cut off the excess cardstock as well as giving the top layer a good finished look…

On a piece of white cardstock,I stamped, coloured in and cut out the image of the little Prince on a horse and placed it on a die cut silver circle…I have used craft foam under this circle before placing it on the card…I die cut a larger silver circle frame and placed it around the circle an cut off the part that didn’t fit on the top layer….

I stamped the sentiment on a silver banner and placed it on the card…and to embellish the card I punched a few hearts from red glitter cardstock and adhered them to the card…

Thank you for stopping by my blog today…Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!
