Galaxy Background Using Watercolours

I have tried ‘galaxy-like’ backgrounds for my cards but have been fascinated by the watercolour galaxy background cards that some card makers have shared on various platforms…I couldn’t understand how it was done until I saw the tutorial by Yana Smakula….I do realise that I have used too much colour and less water so my backgrounds are quite blotchy and brighter than they should be… anyways, these are my first couple of tries following the technique….

I chose gold cardstock to create the card base for my first card…I cut out a watercolour panel to size and stamped the dragon, the hedgehog and the log and masked them…I didn’t know how my background was going to turn out so I did not colour in the images right away… 🙂
I then pulled out my Gansai Tambi watercolours and my heat gun and followed the tutorial to create my background…I did add some gold paint splatters on my background which Yana hasn’t…
Once my panel was completely dry,I coloured in the images using Spectrum Noir markers and added the stamped sentiment label to the card front…finally, I used the sparkle pen on the coloured images and my card was ready…

For my second card I chose a green card base and cut watercolour cardstock to size for the front panel…I stamped and masked the unicorn image and proceeded to create the galaxy background…
Once dry,I coloured in the image and die cut a tag from silver foil cardstock and stamped the sentiment using blazing red stazon ink…I adhered some craft foam under the tag before adding it to the card…

To embellish this card I have used silver star sequins…and because I find foil cardstock so hard to photograph I have added quite a few pictures of this card…here is a much clearer and close up shot of the silver tag…

CASEing For Time Out Challenge #87

The card I’m sharing today is my entry for the latest Time Out Challenges…for this challenge we had to CASE Cornelia’s wonderful card…I was quite inspired to create something immediately and decided to use a cute dragon image for my card…what took most of my time was to decide how to create the background and which sentiment to use for my card..

I chose watercolour cardstock for my card’s top layer and cut it the same size as the card front…I stamped the MFT Dragon image using Versafine onyx black ink and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder…this wasn’t necessary as such but I think it makes the dragon image  much clearer and prominent…

I coloured in the dragon using Spectrum Noir markers and then masked it so I could create the background…using some scrap copy paper,I die cut a large circle from it and used the negative part of the die cut to mask the top layer…I then used a stencil and weathered wood Distress Ink to print the  background…
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from MFT stamp set called Clearly Sentimental About Emerson which has some wonderful quotes by Ralph W Emerson…I then cut the sentiment into six different strips and adhered them to the card…
And finally to embellish my card I have used a few sequins…

Happy Mother’s Day!

Wishing all Moms,Aunties,Carers and Grandmas, all over the world  a very Happy Mother’s Day…Hope today brings you happiness, joy and lots of love from a loved child/children,nieces,nephews or grand kids…

The card I have made for today has a plain white card base,a yellow mat layer and a die cut white top layer…on the top layer I have used two different stencils and Distress inks to create the background… I have used spiced marmalade and carved pumpkin for the sun rays and squeezed lemonade for the halftone dots…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the mama and baby dragon and cut them out..I also stamped a paper plane and cut it out…I placed the mama dragon on the card first and then placed the baby dragon on the paper plane and adhered them onto the card in a way that the baby is kissing their mother…
I stamped the sentiment using black ink and placed a few rhinestones to embellish my card..

A Dragon Card & Prince Charming Tag

Today I am so happy to share a card and a tag that I have made using the MFT Magical Dragons stamp set….I had a rough idea about the design of this card but was so excited when it all came together…
The card base and top layer are both plain white….I masked the top layer at an angle using a scrap piece of paper and repeat stamped the sentiment to create an interesting background…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped, coloured in and cut out the cute dinosaur image and  three candles…I placed them on the top layer in a way that it seems that the dinosaur is blowing the candles…
I have stamped the sentiment using watermark ink on a strip of black cardstock and then heat embossed it using gold embossing powder…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade Card by PriCreatedI kept the tag quite simple…the tag base has been die cut using the MFT tag builder 5 blueprints and I have used distress inks to create the background…I then die cut the tag border and adhered it to the base tag…

On a separate piese of cardstock I stamped, coloured in and cut out the little prince image and placed it on the tag…I heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of coloured cardstock using white embossing powder and placed it on the tag…

Finally I added a piece of blue ribbon and some tiny star sequins and my tag was ready…

What could I do for you?

I am not Super-woman or have any magical powers but there a few people in my life for whom I know that I’d do almost anything in their time of need…they are the silent ones who stand by me and offer unconditional support that too without influencing any of my decisions…
The card I’m sharing today has a plain white card base and a watercolor paper top layer….I then used distress inks to create the background including a bit of masking to create the heavily clouded sky
Using the Lawn fawn hillside border dies and some brown and kraft cardstock,I die cut the hilly base…so once the top layer was ready I ran it through my Cuttlebug using a stitched rectangle die…
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped and coloured in the dragon, the prince and the princess and cut them out before placing them on the card…I also added a die cut tree next to the princess…
Finally I added the sentiment on a tag…added a bit of bakers twine and adhered it to the card…
I’m glad you stopped by my blog to take a look at my card….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!
