Mama Elephant Santa’s Sleigh

Hello friends…today I’m sharing two similar cards but I made the backgrounds slightly different to see which one worked better with my layout..in the end, I decided I liked them both so went ahead and made one each..!!

I started by cutting kraft cardstock to size for the front panel and then used stencils and inks to create the hills background as well as the clouds background…I stamped the sentiments using Versamark ink and the heat embossed them using white embossing powder and adhered these panels to the card base…
On a piece of white cardstock, I stamped and coloured in the images and then die cut them using the coordinating dies…I adhered the die cuts using some adhesive foam squares for a bit of dimension…I used a black fineliner pen to draw the reins…and finally to embellish my cards, I have added a few while Nuvo drops…

Thank you so much for your time today..hope you liked my cards…have a happy and crafty day ahead..!!

If Friends Were Flowers – Time Out Challenge #109

For ‘Inspired By Words’ challenge #109 at the Time Out Challenges blog, my first idea was to make a flowery card with or without the friend theme…but the more I thought about it, the more I felt like I should make something one of my friends would have a good laugh at….so I chose this funny looking cow stamp from Katzelkraft and made this card…(can you tell I’m a big fan of comedy??)

This is the quote for the challenge…

After die cutting the front panel from Bristol Smooth cardstock, I stamped the cow image and the sentiment using Versafine onxy black ink and quickly heat embossed them using clear embossing powder….I then masked the cow and used stencils and Distress inks to create the back ground…
I have used squeezed lemonade and carved pumpkin with MFT radiating rays stencil and mowed lawn and peeled paint Distress inks with MFt drifts and hills stencil…I also splattered a bit of water for effect…

After removing the mask, I coloured in the cow image using a beige Zig maker and a water brush…once dry, I adhered this panel to a plain white card base…
On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped, clear heat embossed and coloured in the little flowers and die cut them with the coordinating dies…I adhered them on the card front and placed one of the flowers(without the stem) above the cow’s teeth using a small foam adhesive square…I used my black Copic multi liner to draw a small stem so it seems that the cow is holding a flower between her teeth…

To finish my card, I added a small coloured in heart and used Nuvo glaze on all the flowers for a bit of shine..
Hope my card made you smile as well…thank you for stopping by my blog today…Happy crafting..!!

This is the quote for the Time Out Challenge and as you can see,I decided to make a colourful birthday card for my entry…I have again used the MFT Drifts & Hills stencil and Distress Inks to create the rainbow background which has been inspired by Stephanie Klauck’s tutorial…
Ths shades of Distress Inks I used for the background are – wilted violet, blueprint sketch, salty ocean, mowed lawn, squeezed lemonade, carved pumpkin and barn door…I also sprinkled a bit of water for effect..once dry,I quickly embossed a border using the rectangle stitched die and stamped the sentiment on this panel…since I used Versafine ink,I was able to clear heat emboss the sentiment..I then adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the bunny image and then cut it out and placed it on my card…I also added some Nuvo glaze on it for a bit of shine…and finally I added some confetti that I had die cut from gold foil paper…doesn’t it look like the bunny is throwing the confetti??

Easter Bunny

I love creating backgrounds for my cards and one of my most used technique is using stencils and inks…recently I saw an awesome tutorial by Stephanie on the MFT Blog in which she had used the Drifts & Hills stencil to create the most beautiful patterns on her cards…so I was very inspired and wanted to try creating a pattern myself….

I started by die cutting the front panel of my card using a large dotted rectangle die and then sponged in three different Distress Oxide inks and the Drifts & Hills stencil to create the background…I have used blueprint sketch, spiced marmalade and squeezed lemonade shades here…I also sprinkled some water for effect…once dry,I adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

To create the big carrot I wanted to use some orange felt which I thought I had…but since I didn’t,I die cut the carrot twice from thick cardstock and layered it and then applied some spiced marmalade and twisted citron on it…I used some orange thread to stitch in the border and then applied some glossy accents on it…I adhered this carrot in the middle of the front panel..
On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped and coloured in the bunny image and then cut it out before placing it in front of the carrot…I applied some glossy accents on the rabbit as well…

Finally,I added the stamped sentiment banner as well as some sequins to embellish my card…

I’m participating in the MFT Creative Olympics event at the MFT blog and for the first event I pulled out my top favorite MFT stamp sets – Once upon a time & Knight in shining armor….I have made the most amount of cards with these two sets and I feel so happy that I can still reach out for them…there are a few other sets I have from other brands that I haven’t stopped using…do you have any favorites that you keep using every now and then?

I decided to do some stamp masking on my card front so I used my trusty misti to stamp the images on the front panel…I coloured in the images using Peerless watercolours and masked them before I used drifts & hills stencil with Distress Inks to create the hills…I have used peeled paint, mowed lawn and twisted citron shades here….I have also used blue shades of Distress Inks and cloud mini stencil to create the clouds…for the clouds I have used tumbled glass, salty ocean and blueprint sketch shades…

I adhered the front panel onto a plain white card base and then stamped the sentiment using some bright red dye ink on white cardstock…I used the fishtail sentiment die to die cut the three sections of the sentiment and adhered them onto my card using some adhesive foam strips…and finally to embellish my card I have used a few tiny red sequins…

Today’s card was made as per the rules of Event 1 – Stamping Slalom in which we had to use only MFT products and at least 3 different stamp sets…I will be submitting all my other event entries via my Instagram but will update this post with a picture of my cards for the other events…

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today…Hope you will have a great day ahead….!!
