Colourful Birthday Cards

The cards I’m sharing today were very quick to make using the new MFT stencil called Ray of Light with Distress/Distress Oxide inks…I have quite a few more ideas for this stencil which hopefully I will try out soon!
I used squeezed lemonade and mustard seed Oxide inks to lightly cover the background panel and then used the stencil with carved pumpkin and spiced marmalade shades….I stamped, coloured in and die cut the images from MFT Knight in shining armor stamp set and added a narrow grass border die cut from green glitter cardstock at the base of the panel ad then adhered the die cut images…I added the front panel to the card base and stamped the sentiment and added some Nuvo drops to embellish my card..

For my second card, I first lightly applied some tumbled glass Distress ink and then used the following inks with the Ray of Light stencil to create the rainbow effect – wilted violet, blueprint sketch, salty ocean, mowed lawn, mustard seed, spiced marmalade and candied apple…I stamped and coloured in the images from MFT Magical Unciorn stamp set, die cut them and applied a bit of glitter marker on them before adhering to the card front…I stamped the sentiment and adhered this panel to the card base…

I hope my colourful cards made you smile today…thank you so much for stopping by…have a happy and crafty day ahead…!!

Love Is In The Air – Two Valentine’s Day Cards

With Valentine’s Day just a couple of days from now, love is definitely in the air…and today I am sharing two cute cards that I made for Valentine’s Day..

For both my cards I created a similar background using Distress Inks and grassy edges stencil and mini cloud stencils by MFT….
I stamped the pig and cow  from Avery Elle Hogs and Kisses stamp set on a separate piece of white cardstock and coloured them in using my alcohol markers…I stamped a sentiment on the large heart and covered those with Nuvo Glaze for a shiny effect…
I stamped one more sentiment directly on the background panel….this sentiment is from Avery Elle Love Notes stamp set…I adhered the pig and cow to the card front and finally I stamped a couple of tiny red hearts and my cards were ready…

Lawn Fawn Birthday Fairies

I was in the mood to create a bright and cheerful card and thought these cute Lawn Fawn fairies would be just perfect for it…I also used the woodgrain background die for the background panel, on which I applied some oxide inks for a magical look..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by die cutting the front panel from white cardstock and then applied the following Distress oxide inks on it – wilted violet, shaded lilac and picked raspberry…I adhered this panel to a plain white card base and set it aside until I had all the other elements ready…

On a separate piece of  bristol smooth cardstock, I stamped all the images using Versafine black ink and the heat embossed them all using some clear embossing powder…I coloured these images using the Zig markers and die cut them using the coordinating dies…
I adhered all the images using some adhesive foam and also added a stamped sentiment strip on my card…to embellish my card I have simply added some tiny gold star sequins..

Congratulations Card

One of my top favorite card maker/ blogger is Virginia Lu…..I love her card making style and all her creations so much…and for today’s card I have been highly inspired by Virginia…

I started by creating the front panel on watercolour cardstock….I applied some Distress Inks on the stamps and used a mister spray to spray some water mixed with a bit of perfect pearls and then stamped onto the paper….this gives such a wonderful watercolour look with a wonderful pearly shine as well…once dry, I adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

I then die cut some fine rectangle frames from black glitter cardstock and adhered then on the front center of my card…then, on a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped the sentiment and decided to split it into two labels…I inked the edges and adhered these label using some craft foam…
To embellish my card I have used some sparkling clear sequins and applied some Nuvo glaze on the sentiment labels..

Birthday Card For Time Out Challenge #110

The card I’m sharing today is my entry for Time Out Challenge #110….and I would also like to share that I received honours in Time Out Challenge #109 which was announced yesterday while I was preparing this card for the current challenge….how great was that? 🙂

For this challenge we have been provided a picture for inspiration…I was quite inspired by the wallpaper and decided to use the colours and small stamps to create a repeat pattern to mimic the wallpaper…

On a piece of watercolour cardstock, I used small flowers and leaf stamps from Lawn Fawn blissful botanicals stamp set to create a pattern which could be easily repeated…I could’ve used a stamping tool but I used small stamping blocks instead…I heat embossed these images with a clear embossing powder and then painted the negative space with a light grey watercolour….

Once the watercolour was dry, I die cut the front panel from it using a large dotted rectangle die and then coloured in the images with my alcohol markers…I also applied some Nuvo sparkle marker for a bit of shine and adhered this panel to a plain white card base…
For the sentiment, I die cut the words happy and birthday twice from black cardstock and twice from the bright pink one….I I layered these together and adhered them on my card…I also applied some Nuvo glaze for a bit of shine..and finally to embellish my card I added some clear sequins…

Hip, Hippo, Hooray!

Some plans or ideas work so well in your head but when it comes to reality, you have to adjust and put on your thinking cap so you can find the next best option…the results can go either way, and thankfully for today’s card I was quite happy with the end result….I was able to alter the die a bit so it could accommodate my card design..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by die cutting the collage panel from 110lb white cardstock twice and the cut off the center sections of the collage frame to make a larger area for the cake and hippo images…I then layered the two frames and sponged all the edges using spun sugar Distress ink and adhered this collage frame onto a die cut pink front panel before adhering it to the card base…
Next I die cut a rectangle piece for the center section and sponged the edges of this with the same ink…I stamped little images on the white square sections that were die cut from the panel earlier and coloured them and sponged the edges as well…I then adhered all these panels inside the collage frame…
On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped coloured in and cut out the hippos and the cake and adhered them to the large center panel…I stamped the sentiment just above using a dark pink dye ink…
To embellish my card I have added a lot of tiny pink star sequins and applied some Nuvo glaze to some of the images…

You’re A Koality Friend – Time Out Challenge #108

A beautiful card by created and shared recently by Olga Moss on Instagram in which she used the fringe borders upside down inspired me a lot and I did tell her that I was going to try her idea…I didn’t just want to copy her, so I spent quite a bit of time trying to incorporate the upside down fringe on my card design…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
On a white front panel,I used some Distress inks and MFT radiating rays stencil to print the sun and rays pattern…I have used squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, spiced marmalade and carved pumpkin ink shades and also splattered a bit of water for effect…
Next,I die cut a lot of textured cardstock strips in shades of green and brown using the fringe scalloped border die and adhered them to this panel upside down so it looks somewhat like grass…I used a stitched rectangle die to emboss the edge of the front panel before adhering it to a plain white card base…

I stamped and coloured in the tree and koala images on a separate piece of white cardstock and cut them out before placing them on my card…I have applied Nuvo glaze on certain parts of the images for a bit of shine as well as dimension…
I stamped the sentiment on a die cut fishtail banner and adhered it to the card front using adhesive foam and added some white Nivo drops to embellish my card…
