Birthday Hello Card

My last card was a bright one and I wanted to make another bright one with lots of colours in it….there is not much technique in this card but I had a whole lot of fun creating a colourful background for today’s card…
The card base is plain white and the top layer has been die cut using the cross stitched rectangle die and watercolour cardstock…then I used a paint brush and simply dabbed on various colours from my Peerless watercolours set….
Using an orange foil cardstock, I die cut the word ‘hello’ and a speech bubble….I stamped the sentiment on the speech bubble before placing it on the top layer…and finally I have added a few orange sequins as embellishments…
I’m glad you stopped by to take a look at my card….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

Bright Peonies Thank You Card

I know I’m not very good with paints, but that doesn’t stop me…and I keep going coz I think that’s the only way I can get a bit better…so today I’m sharing a card that I have made using Peerless watercolors….
The card base is plain pink and the top layer has been cut to size using Ranger watercolor paper….on the top layer,I stamped a few peonies using the Altenew peony scroll stamp set using Versamark ink and heat embossed them using a gold embossing powder…I then coloured in the flowers and the background using Peerless watercolors…
Once dry,I placed a thank you word die on the top layer and ran it through my Cuttlebug and carefully removed the die cut word….I used a piece of gold foil cardstock to die cut the same word and then inlaid the gold one on the top layer…
I just punched a couple of hearts from the same gold foil cardstock and used them to embellish the card…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card…Have a very blessed day today…!!

Bright Cards

It’s spring now….my favorite season….there are new leaves on the trees and the flowers are starting to bloom everywhere….and the days are longer…and it’s bright and sunshiny on most days…and with a bit of inspiration from the weather,I made a couple of bright cards that I’m sharing with you today…

For the first card,I chose a bright orange card base….on the white top layer, I randomly stamped the dotted squares stamps in various sizes using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder….I then used bright Peerless watercolors to colour them in….

Once the top layer was dry,I adhered a vellum paper layer above it by wrapping a gold string around it…I then stamped and die cut a frame and stamped in the sentiment as well and placed it on the vellum layer…I also die cut a few sequins from gold foil and orange cardstock to embellish the card…

For my second card I chose a plain yellow card base….then,on a plain white top to layer,I stamped the clouds, sun, sentiment and little hearts and adhered it on one side of the card…I also adhered a couple of thin strips from blue glitter cardstock and orange foil cardstock onto the card…

Beautiful Peony Anniversary Card

Layering stamps have made things quite a bit easy for the artistically challenged crafters like me….I had my eye on the Altenew Beautiful Day Stamp set for a while and I finally bought it….the Peony flower is so beautiful and there are layered leaves and a few more stamps in this set…
I chose a black card base and a watercolor paper cardstock….I first stamped the flower and masked it before stamping the leaves and the tiny flower bunches…once that was done,I masked the leaves as well and used a light blue shade of Peerless watercolor to fill up all the white space on the top layer…
I heat embossed the sentiment on a black banner using white embossing powder and placed it on the top layer….I added a few pink sequins to embellish the card….
Thanks for visiting today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

Oh Crab..I Forgot..

Unless a phone app or Facebook reminds us of upcoming birthdays and anniversaries, most of us easily forget….but look at the bright side…due to these app etc. we are wishing more people than we ever used to and that can’t be bad…
For today’s card I started with a plain black card base….I then cut up watercolor paper to size for the top layer and simply brushed on some blue and pink Peerless watercolors on it…..once dry,I used a few stitched border dies to create a bit of an effect on the top layer…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped coloured in and cut out the crab image before placing it on the center of the card…I wanted the crab to look a bit sad but my colouring in skills don’t extend that far…ha ha…I stamped the sentiment just above using black ink and decided not to embellish the card at all…
Thanks for visiting today…Have a happy and crafty day…!!

Blessings For A Happy Life

Every time I see a Hibiscus flower, I’m reminded of a few of my science teachers who taught us the parts of a flower using this very flower…visual memory is usually so much stronger than just memorising something off a book and not understanding it much…it’s great to see that most teachers nowadays teach with visual teaching aids and topic related experiments and excursions…
For today’s card I chose a black card base and a watercolor paper for the top layer…I sponged a few different green distress inks and then splattered some water for effect…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the Hibiscus flowers and coloured them in using Peerless watercolors…once dry,I cut them out and placed them on the top layer and added a few die cut leaves as well…
I stamped the sentiment using black ink and placed a few clear sequins to embellish the card..
Thank you for stopping by to take a look…Have a blessed day today…!!

Bright Marigolds Birthday Card

Hmmmm….so are these Zinnia or Marigold flowers???I always thought they were Marigolds but some stampers have referred to them as Zinnias…I tried to look up the website of Inspired by Stamping for more details but they have removed the listing as these stamps are not being manufactured anymore…
On a black card base I have used a white watercolour paper top layer….I created a couple of masks for the flowers before I started stamping…I used black ink to stamp the flowers and the sentiment and while the masks were still in place,I used green inks to stamp the leaves…
I used Peerless watercolours to colour in the flowers and a few gold sequins to embellish the card…
Thanks for visiting my blog today…Have a great day ahead….!!

You Brighten My Day Card

It’s the middle of winters in Australia right now and it gets really grey and drab mainly in the southern states of my country….so these days if I see a bright flower which has popped up in the most unexpected of places,it brings a genuine smile on my face…
And with that thought I started this card…..the card base is plain brown and the top layer has been created using watercolor paper smooshed with some distress ink…I then die cut a piece of vellum paper the same size as the top layer using the stitched rectangle die and decided to place bright coloured in and cut out flowers on it…
For the flowers I have used my favorite stamp set – Flower Garden by Tim Hotlz – and coloured them in using Peerless watercolors….I created the banner by stamping it with stripy stamp using yellow dye ink and then stamped the sentiment on it….the adhesive is hidden behind these elements to adhere the vellum to the watercolor layer below….
I have used blue sequins in various sizes to embellish the card…
