Diwali Cards Using Altenew Candle Light Stamp Set

Today I’m sharing 3 Diwali cards….Diwali is on the 7th of November this year and if you didn’t know already, it is the biggest Hindu festival – also known as the festival of lights…and I was so happy when Altenew came up with the most versatile stamp set called Candle Light which has images of some layering candles, tealights and an earthen lamp as well as some really wonderful sentiments..I had been waiting for a set like this for quite sometime now..

For all my cards, I stamped the layering stamp for the lamp and the flame on a piece of white cardstock using Altenew crisp inks…for the lamp I have used mocha, sand dunes, rocky shore, and limestone shade and for the flames I have used citrus burst, fresh lemon and autumn blaze….I have die cut these with the coordinating dies and in a couple of the die cuts had to trim off a small section for the flame…

My first card was inspired by Jennfer Rzasa and I kept is fairly simple as I wanted to see if these lamps would look okay with the flame on one side…and I think it does…well, I started by creating the front panel of my card by first stamping the small mandala pattern using wild honey oxide ink and heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder…I then applied various Distress Inks on this panel – squeezed lemonade, mustard seed and dried marigold…I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and then adhered this panel to the card base…I added the die cut lamp and embellished my card with some plain gold confetti sequins..

For my second card, I have used a square stencil to create the focal point in the background..I used the following Distress inks for that – blueprint sketch, salty ocean and tumbled glass…I then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment before adhering the front panel to the card base…I used adhesive foam squared to attach the lamp and then added a few tiny gold star sequins as embellishments..

Now my third card wasn’t planned but it is my favourite…and it looks much better than it does in the pictures…I dry embossed a frosted gold cardstock piece using a paisley embossing folder and the adhered it to a plain white card base…then I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment on an orange panel and adhered it to the card front and then adhered the lamp die cut…and finally to decorate this card I have used a few orange rhinestones..
Here are a few more pictures of my cards…

Let’s Celebrate You

I am sharing a tall card today…it is 3 1/4 ” x 6 1/2″ and is just perfect for the main feature which is a stem of beautiful Orchid flowers…and to make the flowers ‘pop’ on my card, I have added a layer of thick vellum paper on which I have blended some Distress Ink for a soft look background…

Once my card base was ready, I cut a piece of thick vellum paper slightly smaller than the card front and then applied some peacock feather Distress Ink on it…I also sprinkled some water for effect…
Next, I used Altenew crisp dye inks to stamp the Clearly Besotted orchid oasis layering stamp on a piece of white cardstock…for the flowers I have used sand dunes  and velvet shades of ink, bamboo and olive for the leaves  and mocha shade of ink for the branch…I die cut these images using the coordinating dies and then adhered them to the vellum panel…

On a white label, I stamped the sentiment and adhered it to the vellum panel as well….I hid the adhesive behind the die cut images and the sentiment label at back of the panel to adhere it to the card front…I also added a few sparkling clear sequins to embellish my card…

Congratulations Card

One of my top favorite card maker/ blogger is Virginia Lu…..I love her card making style and all her creations so much…and for today’s card I have been highly inspired by Virginia…

I started by creating the front panel on watercolour cardstock….I applied some Distress Inks on the stamps and used a mister spray to spray some water mixed with a bit of perfect pearls and then stamped onto the paper….this gives such a wonderful watercolour look with a wonderful pearly shine as well…once dry, I adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

I then die cut some fine rectangle frames from black glitter cardstock and adhered then on the front center of my card…then, on a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped the sentiment and decided to split it into two labels…I inked the edges and adhered these label using some craft foam…
To embellish my card I have used some sparkling clear sequins and applied some Nuvo glaze on the sentiment labels..

Birthday Card For Time Out Challenge #110

The card I’m sharing today is my entry for Time Out Challenge #110….and I would also like to share that I received honours in Time Out Challenge #109 which was announced yesterday while I was preparing this card for the current challenge….how great was that? 🙂

For this challenge we have been provided a picture for inspiration…I was quite inspired by the wallpaper and decided to use the colours and small stamps to create a repeat pattern to mimic the wallpaper…

On a piece of watercolour cardstock, I used small flowers and leaf stamps from Lawn Fawn blissful botanicals stamp set to create a pattern which could be easily repeated…I could’ve used a stamping tool but I used small stamping blocks instead…I heat embossed these images with a clear embossing powder and then painted the negative space with a light grey watercolour….

Once the watercolour was dry, I die cut the front panel from it using a large dotted rectangle die and then coloured in the images with my alcohol markers…I also applied some Nuvo sparkle marker for a bit of shine and adhered this panel to a plain white card base…
For the sentiment, I die cut the words happy and birthday twice from black cardstock and twice from the bright pink one….I I layered these together and adhered them on my card…I also applied some Nuvo glaze for a bit of shine..and finally to embellish my card I added some clear sequins…

Colourful Alcohol Ink Background Thank You Card

For today’s card, I created another bright and colourful alcohol ink background….this background turned out really beautiful so I didn’t want to cover it up with images and die cuts….I thought of a few different ideas and finally decided to use a lace die cut from white cardstock which lets us see most of the background panel…

Once the alcohol inks were dry on the front panel,I die cut white cardstock three times using the Altenew lace border die and adhered it on there….I then used the large cross stitched rectangle die to create a border as well as cut off the excess paper easily…I adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

I die cut the word thank you twice from white cardstock and layered them before adhering them onto my card front…and finally added a few clear sparkling sequins to embellish my card…

Baby,You’re Perfect

With Valentine’s Day just a couple of weeks away,I wanted to make a few love themed cards…at the same time I don’t want my cards to be specific for just this one occasion…I have used three Mama Elephant stamp sets for my card today and I just love these cute pandas..!!

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by stamping the rays on a white front panel using the citrus burst Altenew dye ink….I then added a green printed DSP at the base of this panel which I have die cut using a scalloped stitched edge die…to add a bit of texture to this panel,I have embossed the edges using a large rectangle die with a scallop and stitched detail (a die by Kat Scrappiness)..I adhered this panel to a plain white card base…
On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped and die cut the panda, heart and clouds images and then adhered them to my card front…I have used adhesive foam squares behind some of these die cuts…
I stamped the sentiment using black ink right in the middle of my card and adhered some tiny gold and red sequins to embellish it..

Second Card For Altenew January Inspiration Challenge

Today I’m sharing my second card for the Altenew January 2018 Inspiration Challenge…I really liked the colours from this challenge and wanted to make a flowery card this time…I have not done any colouring in this card but have followed a recent tutorial by Ali (Ali Loves Cardmaking) where she demonstrated some easy alcohol ink techniques on photo print paper with some rubbing alcohol…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
Now I didn’t want to get alcohol inks until I knew that I liked and could work with this technique ,so I really wanted to try it out with the things already had i.e. Spectrum Noir alcohol marker reinkers(sadly they all had almost dried up somehow but I could get just a bit of colour from the bottles)…Anyways, here is the image provided for this month’s challenge…
Once my inked up photo paper was dry,I stamped the flower and leaf images from the Beautiful Day stamp set using Versamark ink and quickly heat embossed them with the Altenew antique gold embossing powder and die cut them with the coordinating dies…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I didn’t want to adhere these die cuts straight onto the card front,so I added them to a plain white panel first…I had already splattered some picked raspberry Distress Ink as well as some Nuvo gold mousse on this panel before attaching it to the card base…I then adhered all the leaves and flowers to it…I quite like the fact that even after adding so many layers of die cut images,my card wasn’t heavy or thick..

I stamped the sentiment using autumn blaze crisp dye ink and then layered it with a panel on which I had stamped a solid stamp using pinkalicious crisp dye ink…I have used adhesive foam squares to adhere the sentiment onto the card front for a bit of dimension…and finally used some pink sequins to embellish my card…

Learning new techniques has always been the most exciting part of card making for me…and this technique is definitely going to be revisited many times…

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look at my card today…Happy crafting…!!

Birthday Dahlias Coloured In With Crayola Markers

I never thought I’d get such a great result from Crayola fine line markers and a water brush…I got the set of 12 colours and this set was quite cheap and easily available..the only thing is that they work best with water only on watercolour cardstock…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by stamping the flowers and the leaves on watercolour cardstock…I did quite a bit of masking as well to make all the flowers and leaves look like they were a part of a bunch…I then added only a little bit of colour from the marker and used a water brush to pull out the colour and fill up the flowers and leaves…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Once dry,I die cut the top layer from this panel and adhered it to the a plain white card base..

Using Altenew sapphire ink pad ,I stamped the sentiment on a small strip and cut it out and adhered it to the card front using some adhesive foam underneath…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

To embellish my card I have simply added a few sparkling clear sequins and used my sparkle pen to add a bit of glitter to the flowers and leaves…

I’m sharing a picture of the marker packaging in case you’d like to try them out…as far as I know, there are two different 12 packs and a 40 pack of markers…I used this one for my card today and it was selling for A$2.99 when I bought it….
So very glad you stopped by my blog today….Hope you will have a bright and sunshiny day today…!!
