Fuchsias Anniversary Card

I love the pink and purple coloured Fuchsia flowers and have two plants(bushes rather) in my home…they bloomed beautifully over the summer and still have a few flowers blooming now and then…my younger daughter used to make garlands out of them when she was little…I wanted to use different colour inks for this stamp set but had to make at least one card with the pink and purple Fuchsias…I am also entering my card in The Flower Challenge #18…the theme for this month’s challenge is ‘anything goes’…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by creating a background for my card which would add to the charm of these beautiful flowers rather than attract all the attention…so I stamped the lace background stamp on a watercolour panel using watermark ink and heat embossed it with a super fine pearl embossing powder…I then covered the whole panel with red gold watercolour and set it aside to dry..

On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped the fuchsia and leaves and die cut them with the coordinating dies before adhering them to my card…toi add a bit of depth,I have added  some adhesive foam underneath the flowers and leaf branch at the front…

I die cut the sentiment from white cardstock as well as purple craft foam…I sponged some pink ink on the white die cut and layered them before adhering to the card front…

To embellish my card I have used some adhesive pearls and applied glossy accents over the sentiment and shimmer over the flowers…

Bird & Butterflies- Scrapbook Boutique August Challenge

As soon as I saw the moodboard for this month’s challenge at the Scrapbook Boutique blog,I went through all my stamps..didn’t find anything I liked at first…a weird umbrella stamp from ages ago, small or odd looking bird stamps and no shoes stamps at all…got quite a few ideas that didn’t work…but I kept going and here are the cards that I created for this challenge…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
For my first card I chose a light grey textured cardstock for a top folding card base…I stamped the big top stamp twice on a white panel using cool graphite dye ink and then layered it with a dark grey cardstock..I added some craft foam under the top panel before adhering it to the card base…

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the large butterfly using squeezed lemonade Distress Ink..I also stamped another butterfly using Versamark ink on Vellum and heat embossed it using silver embossing powder..I cut both butterflies out, layered them and placed them on the card front…

To make sure that the punched out butterflies are the same colour as the main butterfly,I stamped a mirror stamp using the same ink onto a scrap piece of cardstock and the punched the butterflies…I adhered morning dew Nuvo drops as embellishments on these butterflies…

I stamped the sentiment on a light grey banner using the same grey ink as the front panel and adhered it to the card front using some craft foam…

I made this second card before the butterflies card and when I was putting it together,I made a bit of a mistake on it…had a mind blank moment so I set it aside till I could fix it and started on another card…I blame it on the flu that I’ve just been gifted by my elder daughter.. 😦

I first die cut a white top layer using large cross stitched rectangle die and stamped the bird image using buttered popcorn Ranger dye ink….I re-stamped it on my Mini Misti using Versamark ink and heat embossed it with a pearl embossing powder…

I masked the image and used a cloud stencil and Distress Inks to print the clouds all over the front panel..I used hickory smoke and weathered wood shades here..I also splaterred a bit of grey ink all over…

I stamped the sentiment on a white strip and layered it with a grey glitter cardstock…added some black craft foam underneath it before adhering it to the card front…I also stamped a few red hearts above the sentiment…

I had already fixed and re-stamped the sentiment two times and something or the other went wrong..and had glued this one onto the card when I saw a small red dot on it…it didn’t come off with the sand eraser so I just went ahead and added the rhinestones and finished my card…I think I will re-do the sentiment label once I’m feeling a bit better..

Thank you for stopping by my blog today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

Hello Cards

I have to keep reminding myself that not everyone likes ‘bright and colourful’…so when I made a colourful hello card,I decided to make another one with not so bright colours in it…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

My first card has a textured lilac coloured card base and a die cut white top layer…on this top layer is used the base stamps from a layering stamp set and various bright dye inks to stamp a section of the top layer…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I used various shades of Peerless watercolours to randomly paint on it and once dry,I die cut the word ‘hello’from it ans well as from purple coloured craft foam and adhered it to the card front..
I simply added some Nuvo jewel drops to embellish this card…

My second card has a kraft cardstock card base and a black top layer…then on a smaller white panel,I stamped the various succulent and planter images and coloured them in using watercolours…
I die cut a wonky stitched frame for this panel from white cardstock as well as a small label for the sentiment…I placed the panel off center and adhered the sentiment stamped label near the top, with half of it on the panel and the other half on the black top layer…
To embellish this card I used a few green sequins..

Cards For Friends

The card’s I’m sharing today have a common theme – they are for giving to friends – but the cards themselves are quite different from one another…in the first card I tried out light colours for the masked background and in the second card I have used kraft cardstock and a flower layering stamp set…

My first card is a simple one layer card and I have tried out the Masked Inking technique as shown in the tutorial by Jennifer McGuire..this is a great idea for adding depth and interest in a single layer card…

On a plain white card,I first stamped my images using black ink and coloured them in using light coloured pencils…I decided not to colour in the fairy itself so that it can stand out better and there are no colour clashes with the background….I then cut out masks for these stamped images and placed them on the card…
I then used some washi tape to mask two edges of the card and then used squeezed lemonade and salty ocean in the unmasked area taking care to slowly fade the colours near the top of the card and leave some white space as well….
Once all the masks were removed, the card was almost ready…all I had to do was add some Nuvo jewel drops to it…

For my second card I have used a kraft cardstock card base and the same for the top layer….using a brown dye ink and the base layer of a layering flower stamp,I repeat stamped to create the background..I added a few dots with white gel pen in between the flowers…
I then stamped the sentiment on wide white strip of cardstock and stamped a flower next to it…after colouring in the flower using Prismacolor pencils,I cut out the excess cardstock leaving one section still connected to the sentiment section…
I stamped, coloured in and cut out another flower and placed it behind the sentiment before adhering it to the card front…just added a few Nuvo jewel drops to embellish this card..

Two Cards Using Cut Outs Die

I have never tried out word cut out dies before and today I’m sharing the first couple of cards I have made using them…I made the second card(the red and white one)first but it seemed a bit too simple and then my younger daughter came along and suggested that I make a shaker card…so I did… 🙂
For my first card I chose a black cardstock to make the card base and a plain bright yellow top layer….I simply placed the die where I wanted the cut out and ran it through my Cuttlebug…once that was done,I created the shaker element by adding a piece of acetate and black craft foam behind the top layer for the shaker element…after adding some bright coloured sequins inside the shaker ‘well’ I adhered it to the card base…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the cute birds from Clearly Besotted and coloured them in before cutting them out and placing them onto the card..I also adhered a few sequins to embellish the card…

Here is a close up shot of the shaker element…

As I said,I made this second card first as I was just trying to see what results these dies gave….since my card size is a bit larger than the standard ones, these dies don’t cover the top layer perfectly…I will be using a smaller card size with these dies next time…
The card base is plain red and the top layer is cut to size from white cardstock…I then placed the die about an inch from the top and die cut that part…then using bright colours from my Ranger dye inkpads,I stamped the large heart stamp repeatedly…
Finally I embellished the card using a lot of different coloured sequins..

A Dragon Card & Prince Charming Tag

Today I am so happy to share a card and a tag that I have made using the MFT Magical Dragons stamp set….I had a rough idea about the design of this card but was so excited when it all came together…
The card base and top layer are both plain white….I masked the top layer at an angle using a scrap piece of paper and repeat stamped the sentiment to create an interesting background…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped, coloured in and cut out the cute dinosaur image and  three candles…I placed them on the top layer in a way that it seems that the dinosaur is blowing the candles…
I have stamped the sentiment using watermark ink on a strip of black cardstock and then heat embossed it using gold embossing powder…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade Card by PriCreatedI kept the tag quite simple…the tag base has been die cut using the MFT tag builder 5 blueprints and I have used distress inks to create the background…I then die cut the tag border and adhered it to the base tag…

On a separate piese of cardstock I stamped, coloured in and cut out the little prince image and placed it on the tag…I heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of coloured cardstock using white embossing powder and placed it on the tag…

Finally I added a piece of blue ribbon and some tiny star sequins and my tag was ready…

Thanks A Bunch

Every now and then I challenge myself to make a card which is not too colourful and looks classy…as I know that even though I love making them, not everyone likes bright cards…I was very careful with this card and quite happy with the result as well…
The card base is plain white and I have cute plain green cardstock at an angle for the top layer…I also embossed the top layer using the WRMK next level quilted embossing folder and adhered it to the card base…
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the Altenew Dahlia blossoms…it’s a layering stamp set and saves you the time that you would spend on colouring in…once stamped,I cut these flowers and leaves out and placed them on the card…
To embellish the card I have used bottle green and ebony black Nuvo crystal drops..

You’re Awesome In Every Way – Triple Time Stamp

There are a lot of card makers who stick to their own ideas and style but most of us start by trying out things that they like and can understand the process to create it…I don’t know if I will stick to a particular style or create my own as I like to learn and try new things all the time…It has been a while since I used the triple time stamp technique to make a card…I was so excited when I made my very first card years ago using this technique…
In case you would like to give it a try, here is the link to the tutorial I had followed – Triple Time Stamp Technique
For this card I was happy to try out my new In Every Way stamp set by Waffle Flower….I didn’t need to get layer sizes for this card as I used my Avery Elle pierced rectangle dies which gave me the perfect sized layers…
On a white card base,I adhered the two layers using a temporary adhesive and covered them with a yellow distress ink…I started by stamping the large sentiment first and then stamped all the flower images using brown and orange inks…
I completed the sentiment by adding the stamped strips above and below the large stamped word…and I have embellished this card using orange sequins in various sizes…
I’m glad you stopped by to take a look at my card….Hope you will have a happy and beautiful day..!!
