Atlenew Decoupage Flowers – A Card & A Tag

I have been planning to try out the decoupage technique for a very long time and have finally been able to create something…I have seen a lot of cardmakers create beautiful cards and share tutorials for this technique but the one video that I found the most helpful was the one by Yana Smakula…and although she used wood block stamps and coordinating layering dies for her tutorial, you get the idea of how exactly it is done…here is the link to her full post if you’d like to check it out – 3D Decoupage Technique by Yana Smakula

I made a card using Altenew Dahlia Blossoms stamp set and halftone stencil as well as a tag using the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set…and even in the pictures you can see that the flowers give a dimensional look…

For the card I chose a dark coloured card base and die cut the top layer using white cardstock and a pierced rectangle die….I then used the hafltone stencil and broken china Distress Oxide ink to print the pattern lightly onto the top layer, making sure not to cover the whole panel…

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and coloured each of the flower images twice using Peerless watercolour..I also stamped and coloured in a few leaves….once dry,I cut out the leaves and one each of the flowers…then to create the decoupage layer,I cut out the inner layer of the second flower and adhered it to the main flower using foam squares…

I adhered the leaves and the dimensional flowers to the card front, added the sentiment on a small panel and adhered some rhinestones to embellish my card…and finally,I added a bit of shimmer by using my Spectrum Noir sparkle marker…

Here is a close-up shot of the flowers…

So while I was practicing this technique,i decided to make a tag as well…this time using the Altenew Beautiful day peony flower outline stamp…
First I die-cut the tag using watercolour cardstock and painted a few lines in various colours…then I stamped the flower leaf images on a separate piece of cardstock and coloured them in using Peerless watercolours as well…once dry,I cut out the two of the flowers as is and one flower’s inner layer…
I placed the darker coloured flower and the leaves at the bottom of the tag and then placed another flower above them…and finally I used foam squares to adhere the inner layer on this flower…
I added the sentiment, some pink sequins and a pink ribbon and my tag was ready…

A Shaker Card And Three Shaker Tags

I love it when I can make a whole heap of different cards from just one or a couple of stamp sets…and I have done that using these MFT Once upon a time and Knight in shining armor stamp sets…today I was making just a shaker card but then thought the images would look cute on shaker tags…so made those as well..

For the card I chose a dark pink card base and a light green textured cardstock for the top layer…I embossed the top layer using the WRMK next level embossing folder and then started to prepare my shaker section…
The base of the shaker is white but has been sponged with mowed lawn Distress Ink..I coloured in cut out and placed the princess image on this layer and die cut a rectangle frame using some craft foam then added the sequins and closed the shaker using acetate…I die cut another frame from pink glitter cardstock and adhered it above the acetate and then adhered the whole shaker to the card front…
All I had to do now was to add the sentiment…I stamped it on a small label using pink ink and placed it on the shaker…

And these are the tags that I created after making the card…I was very surprised how quickly I was able to make these …

I first die cut three tags from water colour cardstock and sponged the edges using Distress Oxide inks…I have used wilted violet, broken china and cracked pistachio here…

Next,I stamped and coloured in the images on a separate piece of white cardstock and cut them out before adhering them onto the tags…

Then using plastic pockets and my fuse tool,I created the shakers and filled them up with various star sequins and sealed the pockets…I added matching ribbons and sentiments onto these tags and they were ready…

Bright & Colourful Goody Bags

I think the most gift wrapping and packaging anyone does at one time has got to be at Christmastime…and because you just can’t wrap every single thing with wrapping paper(trust me,I’ve tried…ha ha..),you would need boxes or bags or other such stuff…and my no.1 favorite website to find tutorials and measurements for all kinds of packaging is the Pootles blog…
Today I’m sharing goody bags I created following this tutorial uploaded by Sam last month – Tall Festive Bag
I chose the most bright and colourful printed paper I had for these bags keep the festive theme going…
Once the bags were ready, I used my triple banner punch to create two banners for each bag…on the top banner I stamped the lovely sentiments from lawn Fawn stamp set called Merry Messages..
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today…Have a great day ahead….!!

Christmas Gift Boxes

Every time I need a gift box,I simply go to Sam’s blog – Pootles.co.uk and I usually find the right box with all the measurements and even a tutorial video….I also love how she decorates her boxes…
Today I looked for a small box tutorial which is about 4″ high and found this one – Soft Pretty Box – which when finished is 4.25″x 2.5″x 1.5″
I followed the tutorial to create my Christmas boxes…the first box is made from plain dark blue cardstock and I have used a printed panel on the for the front and adhered a die cut reindeer on it…I have used a white ribbon to close the box and added a small stamped tag as well…
For my second box I used a printed cardstock..I loved this white paper with lots of Christmas trees printed on it…I have used a printed panel for the front for this one as well and adhered a stamped, coloured in and cut out image of the little elf called Rebecca…I threared a ribbon to close the box and added a tiny stamped tag for this one too…
These boxes were just the perfect size for my gifts…

Thank You Card – Feathers Die Cuts Inlay Background

For today’s card,I wanted to add a lot of die cuts to create the background but at the same time I didn’t want the top layer to be bulky as I was planning to add a tag on the front….so I decided to inlay the die cuts and place them within the top layer…
I started with a brick red card base and die cut a tag using the same cardstock….I then cut a white top layer to size and randomly die cut various feather shapes and pulled out the die cut shapes leaving just the negative section…I used the same dies to die cut the feathers using a printed cardstock…then using a double sided adhesive sheet behind the top layer,I carefully inlaid the printed feathers in the empty spots of the negative top layer….I also adhere two thin strips of gold cardstock on the top layer before adhering it to the card base….
To get the tag ready,I die cut the word ‘thank you’ using gold foil card cardstock and placed it on the tag..I threaded a small piece of ribbon and placed a few gold sequins on the tag before adhering it to the card using a bit of  adhesive foam…
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today…Hope you will have a great day ahead….!!

Thank You Fairy Much Card

Today I’m sharing another quick card I have made using the Avery Elle Pixie Dust stamp set….this stamp set has quite a few small images of hearts, stars, wands and clouds and today I have used the stars to create the pattern on the background…
The card base is a plain pink one and I decided to use a black cardstock to create the top layer…I then stamped a lot of stars on the top layer using white pigment ink….
I then die cut two tags…one using pink cardstock and the other using Vellum…before I die cut the vellum tag,I stamped the tag image and the sentiment on it…
The little fairy has been stamped on a separate piece of cardstock, coloured in and then cut out before being placed onto the tag…I simply added a ribbon on the tag and adhere it to the to layer and the card was ready…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look…Happy crafting…!!

Another challenge has started on the Cre8tive Hands Fans Facbeook Group today…The watering can image is very cute…I could’ve made a card for this one but decided to make a goody bag…maybe a little something for a keen gardener…with some seasonal seeds in it…

I have followed the tutorial by Sam Donald on Pootles.co.uk….the dimensions for the box and video tutorial are on her blog so here’s the link for her Pretty Petals Gift Bag Box….I have made this box many times…it’s great for small gifts or treats like chocolates, cookies etc…

I have used a blue cardstock for the box and a printed lavender DSP for the front….The digi has been coloured in using Spectrum Noir Markers and placed on a bright yellow base mat….I have also stamped and cut out the sentiment banner and threaded it through the ribbon…

Folded Birthday Card

I’ve had the tutorial for this card bookmarked for such a long time and I wish I had tried it out sooner….it was so easy and fun to make and I love the unique folding technique..
Here is the link for the instructions and video tutorial by Dawn – Amazing Fold Card

I started with a square dark lavender cardstock and got the card base folded as per the instructions in the tutorial video….once that was ready,I stamped on the inside of the card and prepared the layers for the inside sections…

On the front of the card I have used a few mat layers and a final stamped top layer on which I have placed the sentiment as well…this top layer is adhered by using adhesive sponge squares as the ribbon needs to be threaded underneath it to close the card…

This card was so much fun to try….I hope you too are having fun crafting today…

Cre8tive Hands Friends Blog Challenge – Gift Tag

I haven’t used digi images for my cards before – only stamps, so it is taking a little bit of time getting used to them and coming up with ideas for them…but it’s very very exciting to try something new…
The best part is that the size of the images can be increased or decreased to suit your project and not the other way around….and that is exactly what I did for today’s project that I have made for the latest Cre8tive Hands Friends Blog Challenge….
I’m sharing a tag today….the white cardstock base of the tag has been die cut using the largest Labels Eight Spellbinders die and I have used a stencil and distress inks to create the background for it…at the top I have used two circle punches to create the circles to fit around the hole of the tag…this also prevents the ribbon from ripping the paper….
I have printed out the digi and die cut it using a much smaller one of the Labels Eight die and the coloured it in using markers and distress inks…I have used adhesive foam underneath the digi before placing it on the tag to give it a bit of a dimension…Finally I have stamped the sentiment above the digi….
