Just For You

I’m sharing a clean and simple card today….usually I get stressed out with these kind of cards as I end up with the clean area of my card left ‘not so clean’…but I was quite happy this one stayed clean or else I would have had to go all out with embellishments like I usually do…ha ha..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I started by stamping the images on watercolour cardstock using some Versafine black ink and then heat embossing them with a clear embossing powder…I then used Zig clean colour markers and a water brush to colour in these images…the clear embossing helped as it stopped the colour bleeding out of the lines and stay contained inside the images…

Once dry, I adhered this panel to a plain white card base and added a stamped sentiment label with some adhesive foam…and finally, to embellish my card I have added some Nuvo jewel drops…

You Make Me Happy – Two Cards

The two cards I’m sharing today have the same message and a warm colour scheme, but I have tried my best to make them as different from each other as I could…the first one is a shaker card with a stencilled background and the second one has a few rows of string lights as the main focus..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I started by creating the background for my shaker card….I have used the Bohemian Bazaar stencil with Distress Oxide inks to print the pattern on a glossy photo paper(Kodak brand)…the oxide inks were slightly rubbing off when touched so I guess it was a good decision to use this panel for a shaker card…I have used squeezed lemonade, wild honey and carved pumpkin ink shades here..I also glued some metallic orange sequins to this panel before adhering it to the card base…
I then die cut a rectangle frame from orange cardstock and added some acetate behind it…I created the well for the shaker using craft foam and added the sequins and attached it to the card base..since the photo paper was glossy, the sequins moved quite well inside the shaker..

I adhered the die cut word ‘happy’ and the stamped sentiment strip on the front of my card and added a cute stamped image of a little girl as well and my card was ready…

For my second card,I stamped the string lights using Versafine black onyx ink and heat embossed them using clear embossing powder before colouring them in using watercolours…I then sponged the edges with fossilised amber Oxide ink and stamped the sentiment using vintage photo Oxide ink…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I stamped a pinwheel just above the sentiment and coloured it in before adhering this panel onto a plain white card base…to embellish my card I have added a few gold Nuvo drops as well as a bit of shimmer on the pinwheel..

Lets Pretend – Belated Birthday Card

I started today’s card with a simple theme – a belated birthday card for a male…picking out the sentiment was pretty easy but not the image to go with it…so after a lot of choosing, I decided to use this robot image with a very cheesy grin..!!

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by stamping the robot image and the sentiment on a white watercolour cardstock panel…I have used the Daniel Smith watercolor dot chart to colour in this image…along with the blue shade I have an iridescent moonstone colour to fill in the image…this shade is a kind of a grey with a lot of shine and as usual it doesn’t show up well in the photo…

I sponged in some mermaid lagoon Distress Oxide ink on the front panel and splattered some water for effect…and just because I couldn’t not, I added some silver and blue sequins to embellish my card…

MFT 2018 Creative Olympics – My Entries for Event 2,3 & 4

Hello…today I’m sharing mostly pictures and a couple of videos of the cards I have made as my entry for the MFT Creative Olympics…at one point I really thought I won’t be able to complete my projects for all 4 events but thankfully I managed to cross the finish line…

Event #2 – Freestyle

The only rule for this event was to have a winter theme…I chose to make a spinner card using the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set with the Snowfall Background die and the Downhill Slope die….For the background I have used Distress Inks – wilted violet, blueprint sketch, chipped sapphire and black soot..

Event #3 – Crafty Biathlon

In the second event,we had to combine one technique from each of the two columns in the list provided and create a card…I chose to do dry embossing as well as die cut inlay from the first column and create a shaker card..I have used the Stitched Circle Stax to create the olympic rings and Wild Greenery die to dry emboss the top layer and the layer which is the shaker background…on the Backgrounds I have used vintage photo and lucky clover Oxide Inks…I have filled the shaker with a lot of star
I have also used the cute images from Fierce Friends stamp set and placed them behind the Olympic rings…I stamped the sentiment on a die cut label and added some clear sequins to embellish it..

In this 4th and last event,we had to create a card from start to finish within 20 mins…so I knew I was going to use a set with matching dies and colour in using water soluble colours…I used the English Brick Wall stencil and hickory smoke Oxide Ink to create the background on my front panel..
I have used the images from Fancy Flowers stamp set and coloured them in pretty quickly using shaded lilac, picked raspberry and evergreen bough Oxide inks..I die cut them using the coordinating dies(this took up most of my time)..I adhered these die cuts at the bottom of the front panel and cut off the excess…I have also used a stitched rectangle die to emboss an edge on the panel as well…finally I used All About You stamp set and stamped the sentiment on the card front using wilted violet Oxide Ink and added a few clear Nuvo drops to embellish it..

I Love You – Shaker Card

Sharing my first shaker card for this year…and this one didn’t take too long to make so I am pretty sure I will make quite a few shaker cards this year….I am still (and always will be) in awe of card makers who create the most amazing shaker cards with such ease and finesse..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I first created the background of the front panel of my card using Distress Oxide inks….I have used seedless preserves and picked raspberry shades here…I also splattered quite a bit of water for effect…then using the corbel heart die,I die cut beautiful heart pattern on the front panel…I added a piece of acetate behind this die cut section and started to create the shaker element…
I used foam tape to create the shaker well behind the front panel…I placed a lot of pink and red sequins inside this ‘well’ and added a panel of gold glitter cardstock as the background of my shaker…I used more foam tape to the back of my panel and adhered it to a plain white card base…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I die cut the word ‘you’ from white card stock and adhered it  on my card front….I then stamped the words ‘I love’ on a long white banner and adhered it to complete the sentiment…and finally to embellish my card I have used some small die cut hearts from gold glitter cardstock …

Autumn Leaf Shaker Card – Time Out Challenge #90

The theme for the new challenge at Time Out Challenges Blog is Autumn with the optional twist of speed stamping…I did time myself from start to finish and it took me 8 minutes and 43 seconds to create this card…which is well under the 10 minute limit given out for this challenge…this is definitely my fastest ever shaker card…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started with a textured apricot orange shade of cardstock for the card base and cut kraft cardstock to size for the top panel…I then die cut the leaf shape from this top panel and started to prepare the shaker element…

On a piece of white cardstock,I randomly sponged some Distress Oxide inks to create the autumnal look…I used vintage photo, lucky clover, antique linen and spiced marmalade shades here..I then adhered a piece of acetate behind the kraft panel…I then adhered adhesive foam tape to create a well for the shaker, added the sequins and added the inked panel to close the shaker well…

I did not add too many sequins as I wanted the inked background of the leaf to show a bit better…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Once the shaker panel was ready and adhered to the card front, all I had to do was stamp the sentiment on a small strip of the same cardstock as the card base…I used lucky clover Distress Oxide ink for stamping and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and adhered it to the card front using some foam squares underneath…and as a final touch,I quickly made a bow from gold string and adhered it to the leaf using a glue dot…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I never thought I could make a shaker card this fast…and it was so much fun creating this card with the timer running beside me…I think good planning was the key for me today…

So happy you stopped by my blog today…thank you for taking the time…have a happy and crafty day ahead..!!

Camp Create Day 3 – Background Bonanza

I am quite excited for Day 3 at MFT Camp Create as it features the kind of backgrounds that I love to make for my cards…so I went ahead and created not one but two cards with brightly coloured backgrounds as the main focus…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I have used MFT stencils and the same shades of Distress Oxide inks for both my cards …I used the Mini Cloud Edges and English Brick Wall stencils and the following shades of Distress Oxide inks – wilted violet, salty ocean, twisted citron, spiced marmalade, picked raspberry and candied apple…

For my first card I choose a black card base and a white top panel…I used the brick stencil for this one and sponged in all the colours onto the front panel and the die cut it before adhering it onto the front of my card…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I die cut the word amazing from black cardstock and black craft foam as well and heat embossed the rest of the sentiment on a black strip using white embossing powder…I then die cut a heart from Vellum and lightly sponged it with red ink…once all the elements were adhered to my card front,I added black Nuvo drops to embellish it and the card was ready..

I have been planning to try out coloured clouds ever since I saw one of my IG friend Dana share a fabulous card with multi coloured clouds in the background…so my second card has been inspired by her – but since we had to make bright backgrounds for today’s challenge,I went all out with the colours…I used the MFT Mini Cloud Edges stencil and Distress oxide inks to print the clouds all over a white front panel..I adhered this panel to a white card base..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the castle and sentiment using wilted violet Distress Oxide ink and heat embossed them using clear embossing powder….I cut them out and adhered to the card front using adhesive foam…and to embellish my card I have used pink sequins…
For participating in Day 3 of MFT Camp Create I have earned this badge…

Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my cards today…Hope you will have lovely & blessed day ahead…Happy crafting..!!

Best Teacher In The World – Time Out Challenge #89

Were were given an image of a sitting/living room interior for the latest challenge at Time Out Challenges blog, and I chose to use the world map and the colours from the sofa and side table top for my card….I did however keep things simple so that the focus remains on the sentiment and the map…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

This is the inspiration image…

I started by heat embossing the map stamp on a white front panel using copper embossing powder…I then sponged Distress Oxide inks to cover the panel…I have used broken china, antique linen and vintage photo shades here…
I sprinkled some water for effect and well as embossed the edges using a double pierced rectangle die..I then adhered this top layer to a white card base…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and heat embossed the sentiments using copper embossing powder as well and then die cut them and adhered them to the card front using foam squares…

Finally I used a few copper and blue sequins to embellish my card..

You Are My Happy Place – Time Out Challenge #88

The card I’m sharing today is the kind I love to create…DIY background, lots of colour but still uncomplicated with a cute image…Also,I’m entering my card in the Time Out Challenge #88…and this time the theme is ‘Inspired by Words’ so we have a Roald Dahl quote to be inspired by –
‘ If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely ‘

There was some great inspiration provided by the DT….I looked at all of their beautiful cards and decided to use a die cut sun as well as a rainbow background and a happy sentiment…this is how I interpreted the quote to create my card…

I started with a plain white card base and die cut watercolour cardstock for the top layer same size as the card front…I then used Peerless Watercolors,a wide paint brush and a ruler to paint the rainbow stripes for the background…once dry,I embossed this layer using a  WRMK next level embossing folder…
I used a scalloped border die and green cardstock to create a little hill for the piggy to lie on and adhered it to the top layer…I also die cut a sun from yellow and orange cardstock and used craft foam to adhere it to the card front…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the piggy and flower images, coloured them in and cut them out before adhering them to the card using adhesive foam…
I have stamped the sentiment on a dark pink shimmer cardstock strip and used pink sequins to embellish my card..
