Alcohol Inks Rainbow Background – Happy Birthday Wishes

Last week we and our city suffered the after effects of almost record breaking downpour and really bad weather…one of our rooms got flooded too and my home has been a mess ever since…and it’s quite cold too..so I thought that a rainbow card was just what I needed to cheer me up…!!

I simply dropped some alcohol inks on Yupo paper and set it aside to dry…..and once dry I cut it to size for a front panel and adhered it to a plain white card base…
Next, I die cut the word happy twelve times from thick white card stock so that I could layer the six die cuts that I needed for my card….I adhered these die cut words in a sort of a pattern on the card front…

I stamped and coloured in the bunny and the banner and then die cut them before adhering them to the card…I also added a die cut sentiment banner with ‘birthday wishes’ stamped on it…and finally to embellish my card I added quite a few white Nuvo drops…

You’re A Koality Friend – Time Out Challenge #108

A beautiful card by created and shared recently by Olga Moss on Instagram in which she used the fringe borders upside down inspired me a lot and I did tell her that I was going to try her idea…I didn’t just want to copy her, so I spent quite a bit of time trying to incorporate the upside down fringe on my card design…

On a white front panel,I used some Distress inks and MFT radiating rays stencil to print the sun and rays pattern…I have used squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, spiced marmalade and carved pumpkin ink shades and also splattered a bit of water for effect…
Next,I die cut a lot of textured cardstock strips in shades of green and brown using the fringe scalloped border die and adhered them to this panel upside down so it looks somewhat like grass…I used a stitched rectangle die to emboss the edge of the front panel before adhering it to a plain white card base…

I stamped and coloured in the tree and koala images on a separate piece of white cardstock and cut them out before placing them on my card…I have applied Nuvo glaze on certain parts of the images for a bit of shine as well as dimension…
I stamped the sentiment on a die cut fishtail banner and adhered it to the card front using adhesive foam and added some white Nivo drops to embellish my card…

I am also entering this card in the Time Out Challenge #108 where the theme for the challenge is ‘wild’…

You Are Mermazing

After doing a bit of rough layout planning,I started on this card…I wanted an underwater scene with the mermaid and the turtle and was going to keep the background plain blue…but at the last minute I added the underwater plant stamp all around the edges in a slightly darker blue shade…and I love how that one thing added so much to the scene…if only I would have more of the ‘light bulb’ moments..!! 🙂

So,once the background panel was covered in salty ocean Oxide ink,I stamped the plants all around with mermaid lagoon Oxide ink and then adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped all the other images – some needed colouring and some didn’t…I then placed these cut out/die cut images on my card front and then stamped the sentiment,a cluster of small fish as well as a small red heart…
To embellish my card I have added a lot of clear Nuvo drops as they look like bubbles in water..

Cute Dragons Birthday Wishes

The dragon wishes stamp set by Mama Elephant has really cute tiny dragon images and some awesome sentiments…I wanted to make this one a birthday card so used the sentiment stamp from another set but I plan to use those sentiments with their other dragon stamp set soon…

I created the background panel first…I started by stamping the starry background stamp on the white panel using watermark ink and then heat embossing it with clear embossing powder…I then sponged in Distress Oxide inks to cover the whole panel…I have used hickory smoke, black soot and seedless preserves here…
I stamped the sentiment using onyx  black Versafine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder as well..I adhered this panel to a plain white card base..

Once the dragon images were stamped, coloured in and die cut,I placed them on my card front…and to embellish my card,I die cut some starts from silver foil cardstock and adhered them to the card front…

You Brighten My Day

I’m sharing a simple watercoloured card today…I have been practicing with my Aqua markers these days and I feel that I can water colour in smaller images better with these markers and a water brush rather than colouring directly with a paint brush…also I was quite happy that I was able to keep my front panel clean and smudge free… 🙂

I started by stamping and heat embossing the large image on a watercolour cardstock front panel..I then coloured it in with the Spectrum Aqua markers and a water brush and once dry,I embossed  the edges using the double stitched rectangle die….I stamped the sentiment on using Altenew tide blue crisp ink and then adhered this panel onto a plain white card base…

On a separate piece of watercolour cardstock,I stamped and heat embossed the two butterfly images and coloured these with Aqua markers as well and then cut them out and placed them on my card using some adhesive dots…and finally I used my clear sparkle pen to add a bit of shimmer to the images…

Easter Egg Hunt

I had tried out creating a unique pattern using the Drifts & Hills stencil in the Easter card I shared last week…and for today’s card I have done the same for my background panel after watching a tutorial video by Jennifer McGuire to create a glazed Distress Oxide effect on glossy paper…I did not have the glossy paper she used in the tutorial so I used Kodak glossy photo paper and got great results!!

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
To create the background panel,I cut photo paper to size and then dabbed some Distress Oxide Inks on my craft mat – picked raspberry, orange marmalade and squeezed lemonade, and spritzed some water on them….I smooshed glossy side of my photo paper on it to pick up the ink and then heat set it before repeating the process…to seal the ink on the paper I have rubbed a tiny bit of Distress Glaze all over and buffed it with a soft cloth…
I love how simple and quick this technique is….also the fact that it works so great even on cheap photo paper…can’t wait to try it out again soon!!

Once the front panel was adhered to the card base,I added a die cut fence to it…I applied a bit of weathered wood Distress Ink on this die cut for effect…I added two die cut grassy borders as well on which I have applied twisted citron and peeled paint…to create depth,I added some craft foam underneath the top layer of the grassy border…
On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped, heat embossed and coloured in the images and then cut them out and placed them on my card…I adhered the sentiment as well as some sequins and my card was ready…

The Cutest Repeat Stamped Background!

Mama Elephant stamp company keeps coming out with these cluster of images stamp sets like cats, snowmen, etc….and when they came out with the one with the cutest puppies ever,I knew just had to have this set…I also wanted to keep my first card using this set quite simple and quick….and that’s exactly how it went..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

On a plain white front panel,I stamped the first time near the base and masked it before stamping again just above it…I had to stamp the image 3 times to cover the front panel which didn’t take much time at all…I coloured in just one of the dogs on the panel and adhered it to my card base…

I then die cut a frame from light blue glitter cardstock and adhered it to the card front…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Next,I die cut the words ‘happy’ and ‘wishes’ from the same blue glitter cardstock as well as some copper coloured glitter cardstock and layered them in a way that the top layer is prominent while the bottom layer slightly ‘peeks’ from underneath like a shadow…I did the same thing with the hearts that I did cute to embellish my card..

Happy Valentine’s Day – Two Cards

I’m sharing two cards today….the first one has two cute love ‘birds’ on it and I have used a cross stitch die cut panel in this one…my second card could be given by a person who is a car/driving enthusiast to their partner… 🙂

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Now I’m not into embroidery and stuff…I have tried to learn some from my mum and done a few bits and things a loooonggg time ago but I guess I don’t have the skill and patience for it…so when I started the cross stich panel for my card,I knew I wasn’t ever going to be able do the whole panel…so I just did two borders and stopped…I die cut this panel and kept it aside…

I then die cut a white front panel and covered it with candies apple Distress Oxide ink…I adhered it to a plain white card base and then placed the cross stitch panel on it..

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the cute birds and then cut them out and placed the on the panel facing each other..I also added some googly eyes on these birds…I adhered the stamped sentiment label and then added a few hearts to my card..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I used a textured grey cardstock for the base of my second card and then die cut the top panel slightly smaller than the card base…I covered this panel with candied apple Distress Oxide ink as well and then stamped ‘vroom vroom’ repeatedly and randomly on it using Altenew limestone dye ink…I stamped the sentiment using black ink and then adhered this panel on the card front..

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the car image using Altenew starlight dye ink and die cut it using the coordinating die…I placed it on the card using some adhesive foam squares and then added some clear sequins to embellish it…

Alcohol Ink Background Birthday Card

My card today has my very first alcohol ink background….after my successful previous effort with my alcohol marker reinker,I decided to get some ‘proper’ alcohol inks…and my goodness how addictive they are…there were so many colours to choose from but I chose to start my collection with some bright colours – no surprises there….

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

After my background was ready and completely dry,I stamped and gold heat embossed the large doily image…I then used a dotted rectangle die to die cut the top layer and adhered it to a plain white card base…
I die the word smile from light pink card cardstock as well as pink craft foam and adhered it to the card front…I stamped the rest of my sentiment on a die cut banner from the same light pink cardstock and adhered it just below..
On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the little fairy image and cut it out before placing it on my card…and finally to embellish my card I have used some light pink sequins…
