Let’s Celebrate You

I am sharing a tall card today…it is 3 1/4 ” x 6 1/2″ and is just perfect for the main feature which is a stem of beautiful Orchid flowers…and to make the flowers ‘pop’ on my card, I have added a layer of thick vellum paper on which I have blended some Distress Ink for a soft look background…

Once my card base was ready, I cut a piece of thick vellum paper slightly smaller than the card front and then applied some peacock feather Distress Ink on it…I also sprinkled some water for effect…
Next, I used Altenew crisp dye inks to stamp the Clearly Besotted orchid oasis layering stamp on a piece of white cardstock…for the flowers I have used sand dunes  and velvet shades of ink, bamboo and olive for the leaves  and mocha shade of ink for the branch…I die cut these images using the coordinating dies and then adhered them to the vellum panel…

On a white label, I stamped the sentiment and adhered it to the vellum panel as well….I hid the adhesive behind the die cut images and the sentiment label at back of the panel to adhere it to the card front…I also added a few sparkling clear sequins to embellish my card…

Easy Colouring Birthday Card

The card I’m sharing today is the easiest and fastest background that I have created….usually I would spend a fair bit of time to colour in all the images, but not this time…I simply added dots of colours with my watercolour markers inside the images and sprayed some perfect pearls mixed with water on it and all my images were coloured in all at once…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I first stamped the leaf and flower images using watermark ink and then heat embossed them with a platinum embossing powder…this embossing helps keep post of the colours within the images when I spray them with the water mixed with perfect pearls powder..I have used Zig clean colour brush markers here..once dry, I adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

I die cut a circle from some vellum paper and adhered the stamped and die cut sentiment on it…I also added some heat embossed and die cut flower and leaf images here….and finally to embellish my card I have added a few pink jewels….

Vellum Embossed Flowers For The Flower Challenge #20 – Sending Love

While planning today’s card, I wanted to use border stamps and at the same time I wanted the background to be subtle as my vellum flowers and die cut sentiment were going to be quite bright…I usually go for bright and colourful backgrounds for my cards, so this was a good challenge for me..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I will be entering this card for the latest Flower Challenge #20 and the theme for this month is acetate/vellum…
I started by die cutting a white panel for the front of my card using a large dotted rectangle die..then  I stamped the border stamps using Altenew crisp inks – pink diamond and sand dunes..I also heat embossed two strips on this panel using Altenew platinum embossing powder and adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

On a piece of Vellum paper, I stamped the flower and leaf cluster twice and heat embossed them using the same platinum embossing powder…I coloured on the back of these images with my alcohol markers and then adhered these to the card, making sure to leave enough space for the die cut word…
I die cut the word ‘love’ twice using stitched alphabet dies and a bright red cardstock and layered them before placing them on the card front…I stamped the other half of the sentiment on a red label using white ink and adhered it just above the die cut word..and finally, to embellish my card I have added some small red and pink sequins..

Be Happy – Altenew March Inspiration Challenge

This month’s Altenew Challenge is by Virginia LuI really love her cardmaking style and my entry for the challenge is also inspired by her as she has created some cards with heat embossed flowers on vellum which look so very very beautiful….and that’s exactly what I did for my card..heat embossed some flowers…

This is the image and colours for the challenge…

I cut watercolor cardstock to size for my front panel and used a piece of acetate, Altenew crisp dye inks and water spray bottle to create the background by simply smooshing the ink on paper…I have used aqualicious, coral bliss and sunkissed shades here…once dry,I used a postage stamp edge rectangle die to emboss the edges of my panel and then adhered it to a plain white card base…

On a piece on vellum paper,I stamped a few Cosmos flowers using Versamark ink and then heat embossed it using gold embossing powder…I didn’t have the matching dies by then,so I simply cut them out…I carefully adhered these flowers to my front panel by using a liquid glue just behind the embossed areas so it wouldn’t show…
Next,I die cut the word ‘BE’ three times from thick cardstock using bold caps die and layered them together…I sponged some coral bliss ink on it before adhering it the the card front..I gold heat embossed  the rest of the sentiment on a small white strip and sponged aqualicious ink on it to stick to the colours in the challenge..and finally I added some gold Nuvo drops to embellish my card…

Altenew August Inspiration Challenge

Erum is a fantastic artist whose card is the inspiration for this month’s Altenew Inspiration Challenge…I took a lot of inspiration from both her cards to create mine..I did a whole lot of heat embossing on Vellum and wasn’t sure if I would be able to put it all together…but I did…and here is my card..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

This is Erum’s card and the colours for this challenge…
I started by creating the background on the white front panel using Altenew sketched lines stencil and vintage photo Distress Oxide ink…I then splattered some gold paint on it…I adhered this panel to a white card base once it was dry…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I stamped all the flower and leaf images on Vellum using watermark ink and heat embossed all of them using some gold embossing powder…I then used various Distress Inks and a bit of water to colour in all these images…I have used peacock feather, mermaid lagoon, forest moss and ground espresso shades here…I also coloured in a couple of images using gold watercolour..
I splattered these images with gold paint as well and once dry,I cut them all out and adhered them to the card front using some multi medium adhesive…

I stamped the sentiment on a white piece of cardstock using Altenew dark chocolate dye ink and layered it with gold glitter cardstock before adhering it to the card with some foam squares…I have used a few tiny gold sequins to embellish my card…

My Entry For MFT Sketch Challenge – Sketch 342

The card I am sharing today has been created using a sketch given out at the MFT Card Challlenges Blog…It’s my first time entering a sketch challenge and I took part only because the idea for this card formed as soon as I saw the sketch…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

This is the sketch for this week’s challenge…

I chose a white card base and a white front panel for my card and started by stamping the sloth image on the front panel…I masked one end of the branch as I wanted it a bit longer and hand drew the rest of it using a black Copic fineliner pen….I coloured in the image using Spectrum Noir markers…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
Then using brown glitter cardstock and the stitched edge die I die cut one layer and then used Vellum paper and scalloped edge die  for the top layer…I stamped and clear embossed the sentiment on this vellum layer before adhering both of them onto the front panel of my card…instead of finding a way to adhere the Vellum to the front panel,I simply cut it a bit longer and folded it in from the top and sides and adhered those flaps at the back of the panel…
I wanted to keep my design simple so I die cut a few sequins from gold cardstock and used them as embellishments on my card..

Let me know your thoughts about my interpretation of the sketch….thank you for stopping by my blog today…Have a happy and crafty day ahead..!!

Trying Out The Block Watercolor Stamping Technique

Anyone who is a big fan of Jennifer McGuire would’ve seen or even already tried out this block stamping technique that she shared a tutorial for earlier this month….it is the simplest way to create a background and great for teaching kids as well…I did not do any heat embossing on my cards as I wanted to use die cuts on them….

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

For these cards,I made the background first and then decided later which colour to use for the card base…I started by cutting watercolour cardstock to size and then used various distress inks  to dab on the acrylic block…here I have used the following shades – peacock feather, mustard seed, picked raspberry and aged mahogany…I then spritzed some water on the block and stamped that onto the watercolour cardstock…making sure it doesn’t move,I added something heavy on top and left it for about 5 mins…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Once the top layer was completely dry,I die cut the word hello from it and adhered rest of the top layer to a pink card base..I die cut the word hello again from pink craft foam and layered that under the die cut word before adhering it back to the card…

I die cut two trees and coloured them using Distress Inks before adhering them the the card front…and finally I have used a few sequins to embellish this card..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

For my second card I chose a long narrow stamping block and die cut the watercolor cardstock using large cross stitched rectangle die…I then dabbed distress inks onto this block…I have used seedless preserves, blueprint sketch, broken china salty ocean and tumbled glass here..spritzed it with water and stamped on the paper…how easy is that..??

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Once dry,I adhered the top layer to a light blue card base and added a die cut word ‘congratulations’ on it..I used a gold foil cardstock for this…

I stamped a butterfly on vellum paper using wilted violet Distress Oxide ink and once dry,I cut it out and adhered it to the card front…

To embellish this card I have used some tiny gold star sequins..

Hydrangeas Thanks Card – Altenew July 2017 Inspiration Challenge

Today I’m sharing the second card that I created for the Altenew Inspiration Challenge….I have also tried to get a better picture of the stencil embossed grid background…it looks beautiful but I was unable to click a picture which shows it clearly…

I started with a plain white cardstock same size as the card front and used the Altenew grid stencil and ruby red ink for the background…I created an ombre effect by using less ink on some areas and more on some…keeping the stencil in place,I embossed the top layer and then adhered it to the card front…

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the layered Hydrangeas and leaves…I used frosty pink, forest glades and jet black shades here…in one of the Hydrangeas I kept the background white and only stamped the layering detail section in pink…I cut these elements out and placed them on the card…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I stamped the sentiment on a die cut vellum label and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder…I coloured in the back of this label using ruby red ink and then adhered it to a larger glitter gold label…I placed the sentiment above the flowers…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

To embellish my card I have used die cut sequins from the same glitter gold cardstock as the sentiment label…I have also used craft foam under a few elements to add a bit of depth..

Katzelkraft Dogs Rubber Stamps – Thinking Of You

As I shared in my previous post, for the next few posts I will be sharing cards I have made using Katzelkraft Dogs stamp set…and this is the second card that I created…four more to go.. 🙂

I chose a kraft cardstock card base for this card and cut the top layer from watercolour cardstock a fair bit smaller than the card front…I then used a few shades of yellow from my watercolour set to create an ombre effect on the top layer…once dry,I embossed this top layer using the rays embossing folder and stamped the sentiment on one side before adhering it to the card base..
I then stamped the dog image on a separate piece of cardstock and coloured it in using Spectrum Noir markers before cutting it out and placing it on the card…
Next I wanted the dog to be thinking of a something yum…so I cut out a stamped image of the  ribbon wrapped bone(which is a part of the stamp set) and placed it on a die cut thought bubble..I used vellum for this as well as the three hearts….
I did not use any embellishments in this card but I did use some glossy accents on the collar and eyes of the dog as well as on the bone…
Thank you so much for taking the time and visiting my blog today…Hope you will have a wonderful day ahead…!!
